The Walking Tall Foundation is a non profit organization that aims to promote well being through the practice of both Wushu and Traditional Kung Fu. This is a tournament held by the foundation allowing martial artist to compete in a fair and safe competition.

Wushu Shaolin Productions covered the action in behalf of Philip Sahagun and the Chinese Martial Arts Community. The entire video is made available for a small cost through Amazon.com allowing anyone to see the entire competition online. The tournament features Wushu Weapons, Forms, Sifu Demonstrations, and a special Wushu tricking competition.

    Martial comes first. Art does not imply looking pretty. Art implies that it is a skill acquired through practice. It may look pretty as a result, but that is not the goal.

    +Tad Walker kung fu isn't necessarily fighting, it has certain forms that are meant/can be used for fighting. Lots of forms are based off of other things like health, strength, flexibility, etc.

    wushu is possibly the most difficult of Kung Fu practices to do. fast feet, flexibility, willingness to improve are a few things they try to master. it takes a lifetime to actually master certain forms of martial arts.

    Ah, com certeza! Sou praticante de Taekwondo e gosto muito, pois o objetivo dos combates não é arrancar sangue, nem apagar o adversário, e, sim obter pontos para a vitória! Ontem mesmo estava fazendo kirugui com meu mestre e ele deu um rejon bandal junto com um mondolio yop meu! Se tivessem tirado uma foto colocaria na net...rs...ficou bonito mesmo!

    This "choreography" isn't necessarily there to be memorized, it's applied in fragments as to be utilized in a defense situation.

    Exactly bro I went to a free kung Fu class in Memphis and let me tell you they can't fight don't fight I was getting mad because they are going to get killed I done mma and taekwondo but that Kung Fu stuff looks cool but my sensei use to tell me watch them at a tournament all they do is forms and if they do fight they get beat

    Deanstruction1 yup. wushu is pretty much a dance. theres no sparring or whatever. i've witness a class before. still trying to look for a authentic kung fu class, that teaches combat. joining wing chun instead.

    I cannot understand how people resist to understand that these forms are just drills to practice agility and dexterity. If you are not satisfied you can add more. It is not claimed as a truth package.

    The one thing I learned from fencing is you can't seat in some fight. So I'll learn agility from fencing before swordsmanship then Samurai swordsmanship. He Just has to wait for his opponent anyway....
