Wuben E7 (5000K) Video Transcript:
General thoughts after a week of usage/size comparison/practicality/interesting things:
• So Wuben has launched the 5000K model of the E7 - this is a multi-purpose flashlight that has modular features. You can also use it as a headlamp. There are also accessories such as the 18650 extension tube, and AP40 gesture sensor. Wuben was kind enough to send me a free sample of their E7 in 5000K for me to review it in this video.
• What's included: E7, instruction manual, headband, USB charging cable, 18350 cell.
• Comparison with wuben X0 - there are some differences in the design, LEDs, length, and anodizing. X0 has extra metal/finishing options.
Overall Construction, LED, lens, bezel and reflector
• Angular with lots of interesting cutouts. Thankfully there are no sharp edges. The anodizing is smooth and slightly glossy. It's still grippy. Steel clip is screwed on the back, and allows you to deep carry the light. I like this clip better than the one on the X-O which was too rigid.
• Charging port on the top of the light, under a rubber gasket. The switch is also on the head and made of aluminum.
• 2x Osram P9 LEDs. 2X TIR lenses - slightly recessed with a rectangular bezel/retainer.
• The E7 comes with a 18350 cell that can be easily removed by unscrewing the tailcap. The extension tube is a great addition as it allows you to triple the battery life with an 18650 cell. The AP40 Inductor connects via the USB port on the top of the light. This light is only designed to be used with a protected 18350/18650 cell. Do not use it with an unprotected cell.
• Headband - I love how the light slots in perfectly and locks. No fiddling around with rubber rings. You can also swivel the light up and down in the mount. To release the light, you just pull a tab on the side.
UI - modes
• Press once to switch on - memory mode. Click and hold to cycle LMH.
• Double press for turbo, triple press for strobe.
• Quad press to lock/unlock.
Performance - total output, beam profile, longevity, practicality
• CCT, CRI, Ceiling bounce test
• Floody beam with a nice diffused hotspot - you get visibility into your peripherals. Throws a decent distance for a light of this size.
Considerations
• If you want the other functions like the gesture sensor and extension tube, you'll need to purchase the other accessories separately.
• Rubber gaskets are a bit annoying with too much play when open. It's also a bit tricky to unscrew the light as there's so little material to grasp onto - at least it's easier than the X0!
• Smaller details like the quality of the anodizing and bare threads. But it doesn't affect the performance of the light.
Verdict
• One of the most versatile headlamp/flashlight combinations out there for a budget price. I like the dual LEDs, hot-swappable battery design, and sustained output on high. You can use it as an EDC, around the house, bike light, or headlamp, what more could you want?

Really enjoyed the sights and sounds during your walk. The E7 looks to be a good light for a nice walk. Thanks

Thought I'd try something different with the beamshots, hope they weren't too shaky as I was just using my phone camera at the time!

I have reordered the E7 again & have it since last week. Beautiful and smaller than wurkkos Ts10. As headlamp I paired it with Ts10 on the cap. So I can switch between E7 cool 6500 or Ts10 warm 4000k while working or both. When I don't wear cap, I just clipped the E7 on to my sling bag which I always wear facing front. Loves both of them. Now with Olight Baton 4 rechargeable is out, I'm tempted lol

Haha nice, you ordered the 5000K? I bring mine from walks as you can tell in the beamshots :) baton 4 looks nice too, hopefully I can get a sample.

Unfortunately no, they still didn't have the 5000k. I don't mind the 6500k too for the extra reach. Great video to show everyday use on the E7 beam shot. Multiple scenarios too. Got a couple of guys at work can't believe the beam E7 produced. Because of the size.

What do you prefer between the Wurkkos Hd15 and the Wuben S7?

Hmm difficult choice man.... I'd go the HD15 for a more practical option unless you want to buy the 18650 extension tube for the E7.

I don’t like the idea of carrying a magnet in my pocket. Could it be removed from the tail cap?

Yes but it's glued down. Might need something to dissolve the glue or just pry it out.

Samsung 30Q is a good option. It's unprotected though. A protected button cell will be much safer. Make sure you put the battery in the right way (positive terminal in first). There's no reverse polarity protection on my sample.

@DarrenYeoYT Is protected better and can you recommend what mAh? Might be dumb questions, but I'm a noob. Don't want to burn out my new light.

@@Ben-cx4igprotected is safer. Can prevent against short circuits and battery overcharging. Those can be dangerous. I've seen photos of lights torn apart. I use a lot of unprotected cells. But am always monitoring the battery level, making sure it doesn't drop too far below 3.7 volts and never above 4.2 volts.

@@Ben-cx4igjust get the highest mAh - more equals higher capacity. But some high mAh cells have a low discharge rate. Aim for something with 10A continuous discharge or more.

    Как в сравнении с sofirn hs20?

  • @DarrenYeoYT

    @DarrenYeoYT

    3 ай бұрын

The Sofirn is more powerful with the Xhp50.2 and also has a high CRI LH351D I think. Plus has an 18650 battery included. But the E7 is overall more compact.
