Wu Ziying "The Art of the Guqin". Vol. 1. Tea Ceremony. Tai Chi. Chinese Traditional Music.
This is the volume one of "The Art of the Guqin" by the great Wu Ziying! His playing traditional Chinese motifs.
Video made by using one of the most precious art works in China made by Gu Kaizhi (顧愷之, ca.345-406), Jin Dynasty (265-420). The name of the art "Admonitions of the Instructress to the Court Ladies (女史箴圖)". Handscroll, ink and colors on silk, 24.4 x 343.8 cm, The British Museum, London.
This painting illustrates a political parody written by Zhang Hua (張華, ca.232-300). The parody takes a moralizing tone, attacking the excessive behavior of an empress. The protagonist is the court instructress who guides the ladies of the imperial harem on correct behavior. In total, nine scenes were depicted on this scroll, but it is now incomplete; the first two scenes are missing, as well as the text to the first scene.
This painting has been executed in a fine linear style that is typical of fourth-century figure painting. Similar pictorial motifs have been discovered in contemporary tombs. Texts describe Gu Kaizhi as having painted in this manner. The inscriptions and seals on this scroll date back to the eighth century, when this copy of Gu Kaizhi's original was probably painted.
Before its arrival at the British Museum in 1903, the scroll passed through many hands. The history of the painting can be ascertained through the seals and inscriptions, beginning with the eighth-century seal of the Hongwen Guan, a division of the Hanlin Academy.
The painting was subsequently in the collections of well-known connoisseurs who added their own seals and inscriptions, before ending up in the imperial collection during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (r.1735-96). In 1860, during the Second Opium War, the painting was looted by British troops from the Old Summer Palace and eventually came to the collection of the British Museum.

Here, since somehow you're able to be on KZread but you're unable to look things up for yourself, here are the words on his bio of his own website: BIOGRAPHY ABOUT THE ARTIST Wu Ziying 吳自英(1943-) was a private student of many of the foremost Chinese guqin masters of the twentieth century. Of particular influence on his playing were the great guqin masters and teachers: Wang Jiru 王吉儒, Wu Jinglue 吳景略, Zha Fuxi 查阜西, Sun Zongpeng 孫宗彭, Xu Lisun 徐立蓀, and Gu Meigeng 顧梅羹. Wu Ziying maintains a strong link to past masters in his musical interpretation, eschewing much of the newer techniques and Western influences and preserving a strong lyrical line. The Mei'an and Wu schools of guqin music are predominant in his performance repertoire. Before immigrating to the United States, he was a professor of traditional Chinese Music at Shanghai Normal University and was the director of the Shanghai Qin Association. In 2001-3, he was a Visiting Artist-in-Residence in the Ethnomusicology Division of the School of Music, University of Washington, Seattle. He resides in the Seattle area where he teaches the guqin and pipa and repairs traditional Chinese instruments.
