Alex James is a fashion and celebrity photographer based in London.
Despite being a photographer first and foremost Alex has met the rise of the importance of video content within his sector head on by investing in some high-end video recording equipment.
As a rule he now tends to capture both stills and video at his shoots, recording video at a high number of frames per second in order to enable a super-smooth and dramatic slow-motion effect in the final edit.
We have worked on a number of projects with Alex (as video editors) including these promotional showreels commissioned by WtR London, a stylish, luxury brand who offer 'intelligent, courageous and timeless Womenswear and Homeware pieces with universal appeal, sophisticated spontaneity and a hint of intoxicating ethnicity'.
An understanding of colour-grading and the use of LUTS were very important in the editing process. It was also necessary to invest some time into ensuring that the most powerful and atmospheric clips were cherry-picked from the substantial amount of raw footage that was taken.
Videos of varying lengths optimised for both You Tube and Instagram were delivered and shared across WtR's social media platforms.
