Hey Guys! I'm definitely going to try them again after I braid my hair tighter! I knew that part of the reason the caps were small is because of my hair, that's why I after I realized that it wasn't a great style for trying on wigs, I mentioned it #KeepsIt100 #WigNewbie. That's why my final thoughts ONLY included commentary on the quality of the hair and the construction. I look forward to trying these again with smaller braids, but I just wanted to make this quick "First Impression" video as real as possible. (This is how I would've tried them on by myself, without filming, seeing that I get impatient and want to see the quality as soon as it's arrived) But next time I do one of these vids, I'll make sure that my hair is braided tightly so that I can accurately comment on the size as well! Just keep in mind my head is RATHER large, lol, so the issue of big head syndrome will always be present. 😊 So all this to say, try to focus more on the quality and construction in this first impression review, rather than the size, as it MAY just fit YOUR head when you've braided it down enough. I WILL be doing a follow up on the Kinky Curl Out, so look out for that! XO! 💗

They are half wigs and not meant to cover the entire head. They actually have really good product and I am all about supporting a black owned woman company. Also, get a wig cap to help protect your hair, too.

I do get that your hair was not braided tightly and your head is larger than most (your observation, not mine :-) but there are still a few things that are problematic with these units...1) they should not be varying sizes even if they are half wigs (that wig with rollers was NOT a half wig, that was a 1/4 wig at most) which takes me to 2) they should tell you upfront they are half wigs and the cost of the unit should reflect that...$500 for 4 half wigs...I don't think I have ever heard of such a thing...last 3) if you try them again you should request them to supply them free of charge just for the mere fact that those wigs were trash and almost 90K people have viewed this and probably 90% are walking away with a very negative reaction to their product. I will always appreciate what you have done for the natural hair community and your honesty and integrity so I feel it is my duty to serve a little back to you.

Naptural85 Thx 4 the video on the wigs. Didn't know those types of wigs existed. I used to buy half wigs and what you have to do is where your hair out in the front and over the wig to hide the track.

Hey @Naptural85! I ordered the first two wigs you featured in this video and had the same issues except there wasn't sufficient hair on either wig I purchased and you could see the tracks on both. I requested standard shipping so, the inconsistency and lack of quality is not due to rush shipping. I agree that the quality of hair is good (and soft) but whose going to walk outside with tracks showing. Overall I was extremely disappointed as the wigs are nothing like @Fingercomber promo images. Finally, I also watched old KZread vids where customers were satisfied. I can only assume that as they've grown, quality control has gone out the window. I was quite pissed in the end as their products are non-refundable...total scam!

Their wigs are rubbish but only the weft they sell is good but it's not human hair though. I hope this helps anyone intending to buy from this company, Beware

I like how realistic you are. Most You tubers always seem to have everything perfect; perfect order; perfect makeup, perfect wig fit, perfect styling....what happened to you is pretty much what happens to me lmost 100% of the time I make order online lol

They cost to much to not be made better. If it is a wig , it should fit as such. I have seen some KZreadrs who have been sent there hair rave about it, but the one who purchased on there own have bad reviews. The wigs do not always look the same as the pictures or even when I've seen people who purchased the same style. It's either too much hair or less hair. I can't. But thanks for the review. You are the best.

These wigs are definitely high maintenance. They are perfect protective wigs for the stylish naturalistas who love to wear their hair out, but still want to keep their hair healthy and growing with minimal breakage. One just does the majority of the styling on the wig instead of one's head. My original Fingercomber unit is now set aside with fresh twists in perm rods and my Teeny Weenie Afro unit is going to get a refresher straw set.

Thank you for your honesty Naptural85! Your review is quite balanced and helpful. I would also add that the majority of the wigs from Fingercomber are nonexchangeable and they do not refund ANY purchases. Only one unit (Havana twist) is exchangeable actually. If you plan on purchasing a wig from Fingercomber, do so at your own risk people. There is no recourse and their policies give them the leeway to do so. I bought a wig (THE SOF-KINX HD UNIT) from Fingercomber. The wig I received is only suitable for a Halloween costume. The stitches are loose, the tracts are impractically visible. Further, the shape of the hair is grossly uneven. It looks like an accidental curly mullet. The same day I received the product, I reported the issue to customer service only to get a message indicating that they are having their "email service scheduled for maintenance" for 10 days and won't be able to reply to me before then. That's long enough for my complain to be irrelevant. Per their return policy, they "do not issue refunds" for hygienic reasons. Further, the wig I purchased is nonexchangeable. There is no quality control and no way of holding Fingercomber accountable. Unfortunately, my situation is not uncommon (i.e www.bbb.org/us/pa/malvern/profile/wigs/fingercomber-0241-236000209/complaints). I plan on reporting them to BBB.

This video is old, so an update would be great, however, I have 3 of their wigs and they are awesome! I’ve had one for over 10 months, and it still looks beautiful! Whitney, you are wearing them incorrectly, and like you mentioned, your hair should be braided down to see the beauty of the wig. Also, it is a 1/2 wig, not a full one, however if you have a small head you can get away with wearing it as a full wig!

I think you should try the wigs with a flatter hair style. I don't think many (from most companies) would fit over the style you currently have-- I say that being a wig wearer myself with a big head. I have the kinky kurl out and it comes to the front of my head....still A LOT of hair though. I ended up having a little leave out and doing a half up half down type of style. I feel like to leave it down,I'd have to trim the bangs.

Hey jadoresphya, thank you :). On the website it says these are full cap wigs, but I would agree with Whitney as far as them running a little small. They are probably better to wear as a half or 3/4 wig because they are lace front nor do they have any parting --unless you plan to let the bangs cover the hair line. I leave my edges out with most wigs I wear.

Hair sticking out a wig like that is NOT normal. It's an indication of the wig being poorly made. More likely that wig is machine made, not hand made. That company should be ashamed of themselves for doing you like that.

I'm not against it but girl... you could very well have bought some beauty supply store braiding hair, a wig cap, and a hot glue gun for that.

I've been on this company's website before and I like their wigs. Would love to have tried one but they're cost prohibitive for me. So, Whitney, what you're saying is that these wigs aren't big head friendly; that's what I needed to hear. Try putting all your hair in cornrows and then put a wig cap on to help protect your hair and secure the fit. I've been a wig wearer for a minute now and with those wigs you'll need to leave a little out in the front and sides to blend in with the wig hair, just enough to hide the line of demarcation.

Thanks for the unveiling. I've owned an actual Finger Comber unit. The unit came in a two strand twists and when the twists were taken down that unit was GINORMOUS! I had to cut it down to make it look believable and the more it was worn, the better it looked. They're just too expensive.

I've been on the fence about this company for awhile... never will I waste my money! thanks for the review!

Yea NO! If it was a half wig it would be larger to fit on the largest area of your head...ear to ear basically. They basically made these wigs on a mannequin (which is super small) and then shipped them without checking to see if it fit a human head. Baaahaahaa! Trust me...I've done the same when making my own wigs. It sucks! #rookiemistake I started wrapping my mannequin heads with paper towel and saran wrap to make it larger, ya know?

I ordered Havana hair bundled to do havana twists. I stalked that site for months waiting for my color to come in. I finally got to order it and was thoroughly disappointed. I had to ship the hair back and get a different color. The texture of the hair is the same quality i could get at the beauty supply store for cheaper. I have not been on that site since then.

These wigs are half wigs. I have one and love it. It is black owned as well. And Whitney your braids are wayyyy to big for any wig to fit over. Try more braids that are smaller. Yes you can see the track if you are super close to your head. Hopefully no one should be that close to you. And the little hairs are intended to cover the tracks.

You just spared me the loss of money, disappointment and self hatred I would have felt had I gone and purchased these wigs as I planned! The concept is great: Naturals are looking for Wigs that represents OUR hair types!!! But the lack of precision to detail reflects poorly on the company and makers of these wigs! With the stiff competition, social media exposure and obscene amounts of money Black women spend on hair this is insulting. For the cost of one of these wigs you could have purchased a better quality synthetic lace wig and few half wigs from various reputable commercial sites or the corner beauty supply store, Lawd. It's disgraceful that they charge a ransom for poorly constructed synthetic wigs. I was always suspicious that they did not post videos or photos for the cap construction of their wigs. There's a KZreadr on here named LivLuvLex71 she has a small businesses called Unkempt Kurls and it's black owned. She makes handmade wigs using her hair and she sells bundles/ closures/ frontals if you wanted to make your own. Her Au Natural texture actually looks A LOT like your hair. I've purchased from her and LOVE the hair and imm making a second purchase very soon. She has a recent video on her channel trying on her hair textures you should check it out.

I brought a few wigs from them. I can tell you that it was a very unpleasant experience! I brought the Havana blow out first; no problem. Then I brought the Soft Kinx. It was "thin-ish" but when on, wasn't TOO bad/noticeable. I was already feeling some kinda a way for spending THAT much on synthetic but it looked so cute on. I then brought the Kinky Kurl Out: PROBLEM. Straight down the middle in the back was NO hair. Like weft with no hair on it but still sewed to the unit (wish I could share the pics on this thread). It was BAD, like: 'how did you feel ok sending that?!' BAD! I took pics to show them the problem; denial. After too much back and fourth I got refunded via my credit card company. They apparently lure you in with the first sale and its a down hill experience from there. Wish I would've read the bad reviews before giving them business. There are quite a few reviews out there with experiences like mine.

FYI The wigs are too small because your braids are way too big and there on the sides of your head. Braid 5-6 cornrows going straight to the back then put the wigs back on.

No one should ever question whether your reviews are honest ever again. This review was definitely honest.

You're not wrong Whit! I bought this wig you wore in the end and I had the SAME issue and mine was not a rush order. I also didn't see it advertised as a Half Wig and bought it expecting it to fit my entire head--NOPE. It has no part, track shows, small hairs stick up too.I have a TWA and haven't been able to wear it.

I have 2 of their wigs: the original unit which is still in twists that I've never taken out, and the TWA which I made into more of an afro twistout by taking out all of the little coils. I've never had any problem & I like them both a lot. Never heard anything bad til I read some reviews last year just before I ordered the TWA. I ordered it anyway. I've even ordered & like the Afrogenix Curl Keeper & shampoo as well as the Koil Keeper & Big Hair Beanie hats. So far I have no complaints. Good quality & look very natural. I wear them for protective style from when fall gets cool & my hair starts to get dry & all thru winter till warm spring sets in.

The first and last one has a lot of potential. As you stated, once your own hair is braided tighter, you should be in good shape. You can make it work. Good video.

Girl you were better off shopping at ToniDaley. I bought two wigs from finger combed and was really disappointed with the quality. My wigs didn't even have wig clips 🙄

The tracks are showing because it's a U part wig. You are supposed to pull your hair out to cover the tracks. It makes the wig look more realistic when you wear it.

Just wanted to say that I purchased the urban bob unit based on the pictures on the site which looks like natural hair blown out and I received something that didn't resemble the kinky texture of the pictures. I tried to suspend judgement, went to the salon and asked her to help me out and she bluntly said I need to send it back or contact them b/c they've either advertised falsely or sent me the wrong product. This company seems to have no quality control whatsoever & I will NEVER purchase from them again.

It should also be abundantly clear on the product pages that many of their units are half wigs, which isn't always made obvious.

The concept was cute but I'm disappointed with these. Proud of black owned companies but this one needs work... Anyway, great review! Love your videos. Love from London ❤

Yes, Finger Comber wigs are definitely half wigs and in order to make any half wig work, you HAVE to have leave-out or else you're going to look a hot mess, tracks out and everything. Their wigs require you to blend your hair with the units. I purchased Finger Comber's Kinky Kurl Out wig in the past and it's honestly one of my favorites WITH leave-out. Obviously, their wigs are not for everyone, but I think it's important to know that you have to know how to work with these wigs just like any other. You can't just throw it on and call it a day lol. There is A LOT you can do with these wigs, trust me. I had mine for a good two months and people always thought it was my real hair. In regards to the price, their protective style wigs range from $60-$80 I believe and that may be expensive for some people, but I personally think they do a great job at resembling kinky hair without having to break the bank and get a human hair kinky wig for over $300+. I personally just needed something natural-looking to cover my Cleo in Set It Off braids and they did a great job. I left some of my hair out, covered the tracks, smoothed my edges, and I was set. Point is, don't knock it until you try it, loves 💛 In the end, you could actually like it, but if you don't - hey, at least you still tried something new!

I bought one before, it was horrible! I mean, if I could have shipped my self to the company to fight someone I would have. I see them online and say yes! But I will not be fooled again. Plus the customer service was awful! I have a large skull, I say that means I'm smart. But it actually means that I can't wear a cheap wig. This wig fit my head like a beanie. And my hair was visible in the back. When I saw that you spent money, I wanted to call you and tell you not to open it! You would think they would have hand picked the best one since you are.... well... you!

They may fit better if your hair was in cornrows. I saw my hairstylist cornrow a client's hair yesterday for the purpose of her wearing a wig. She helped her put the wig on and it seemed small, but she knew how to put it on the client and instructed the client on how to properly put on the wig.

I bought one last month (the last wig she had) cute style but the wig is literally see through , you can see the tracks on the wig . It’s $98, they need to do better. They send the best ones to influencers and give the crappy ones to everyone else! I also ordered another wig and it still hasn’t come 🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm so glad to see other KZread creators support each other. I feel like i know y'all. The comments are hilarious!!! Whitney, see uf you can get some of your money back. If they knew how popular you are they would have put their best product forward. But since you are so humble and didn't use your KZread popularity to get those wigs free to review them, this company is going to learn a valuable lesson on workmanship and the power of social media because I would never purchase anything from them. in fact, I think I'm going post on all of my social media outlets to avoid this company!

I've ordered two units from this company. I purchased the Angle Balanced unit and the Kinky Blow Out unit. They are designed to be half wigs so front leave out or headbands are necessary. Also twists will not fit under these wigs. Cornrows are a MUST. I agree these wigs are thin, especially the Kinky Blow Out unit. Overall, I enjoyed them after some tweaking and a LOT of trial and error. Not worth the price in my opinion. Also, my profile pic is actually me wearing the Kinky Blow Out unit.

I like the afro wigs, I think they all look cute in a different way and the quality looks good on the camera too.

MAKE IT WORK MOMENT: Roller set the wig that is way too big. (put it in a double boiler to steam set the curls so you dont lose too much of the kinky curl texture) SOULUTION2: Brush out the wig that is too thin. [THIS IS NOW YOUR AFRO WIG] :)

I gasped when you said you paid for them but I'm happy you did. Most people complain that KZreadrs are sent better units than everyone else. This is a great way to test it by purchasing on your own.
