Someone had been stealing lunches. A trap was set. The observation group giggled as they watched the known trap lunch get eaten. When the thief asked what was so funny, one person informed them that the sandwich they were enjoying was made of dog food. The enraged thief goes immediately to HR to complain. HR suggested to the thief that unless they wanted to be publicly outed as the lunch thief to the rest of the factory, they just keep quiet and stop stealing food. 🍔

When I turned thirty I was kinda depressed. I just didn’t like where I was in life to be that age. The place I worked had a small staff and lots of us were really close. So a group of my coworkers got me a cake and balloons and surprised me on my birthday to cheer me up. Someone complained that they weren’t included in planning the surprise. I kid you not. I was not friends with this person, but they got mad that they didn’t get invited to plan my little surprise. I want to be clear. The person wasn’t mad that I GOT the cake and balloons. She was mad she wasn’t asked to help plan it. (It was only like five or six people who planned it after having a conversation with me about being bummed about my birthday). So new rule was implemented that no one could plan any kind of celebration unless ALL STAFF were included in the planning. I felt so bad. They were just trying to cheer me up.

It was my first day of work at Abercrombie when I was 17. The other employees told me to pull my phone out so they can add me to the gc, show me my online schedule, etc. Like 30 mins after that I went to the bathroom and came out to my manager telling me someone called HR on me for not working and being on my phone. Looking back now it had to 100% be my ex and his posse who called 💀(they all worked at that job too).

I had someone report me for letting my popsicle melt into a slushy consistency and eating it with a spoon. The issue was they were "Company Popsicles from the Company Fridge" and it was stealing. Those items are for customers not employees! The person who reported me had a coffee with milk/sugar in their travel mug from the same "Company Fridge" and was stealing as well. God did I get so mad. I now have a huge list of dates and times others have taken things from the "Company Fridge" and have NEVER touched a thing since! I'll play the game, but what the twatwaffle who reported me doesn't know, I have a very very evil and nasty side that I keep pretty deep inside while at work, but they have let it out!

Ok so the tossing things is a common one. My mom trains adults how to do their job. She was giving out popsicle sticks for a project and she tossed it to a student. This adult woman, in her 30s-40s, got up and left the classroom, in the middle of training, to report my mom to HR. She said it was “aggressive” and my mom was “angry at her”. Mom got called to HR, was warned the student was crazy, and was told to try and stay away from her. Idk the job she trains for has a lot of high turnover and temps but it’s now a joke in our house.

@@Lenape_Lady Oh, got hauled into HR and asked if I REALLY said I was going to follow school buses around town armed with a sniper rifle (because apparently that's what people that play video games do). After that they just let it drop. She was sorta bent out of shape that I "lied" (because of course HR doesn't keep anything confidential) and remained convinced I had been planning mass murder and that she had stopped it by reporting me. You know, because now the authorities were on to my antisocial behavior and must have taken away all my guns. She was also one of those annoying assholes that passes judgement on the childfree as all belonging to some sort of satanic cult.

@@Lenape_Lady Put her on my shit list of people to avoid at work. In any company you'll find a certain number of HR snitches that basically provide them with about 90% of their work. And they can't get rid of them either; that would be "retaliation" and a lawsuit. As a consequence of those people everyone does a "security check" to make sure they aren't nearby and then whisper their conversations. Since I wear really good hearing aids I can frequently overhear such talk a good 40 or 50 feet away when most others can't. I've been known to get up, walk over, and let them know they can be overheard. Honestly, there are only a very few "safe" topics that can be casually discussed at work any longer, weather and food being at the top of the list.

16:26 a guy I know was taking bottles of coke to work, and everyone denied drinking it. So he bought an even bigger bottle, then finely ground extremely hot chilli, boiled that down to just a liquid, then drank a little coke, and topped up the bottle with fire breathing hot chilli juice concentrate. Then took that to work the next day. He started working at 8.30am, and found out who the thief was by 10.15am. Guy ended up needing medical help because he couldn't breathe, from the swelling caused by chemical burns. Apparently something in the coke combined and made something else that caused blistering. No action was taken against my friend and his food and drink was never touched again. Some people shook his hand because the guy had been stealing off them too. He (the culprit) had been spoken to by multiple others but never changed till he experienced chilli coke.

I have a new supervisor come into one of my jobs who was very much a hippie without the dress code. I was once late two times in the same week because heavy construction in my area blocked the only path there. She blamed it on me being a Taurus and told me I had to rise above that. One, I can't believe you said something like that with complete seriousness. Two, I'm a Scorpio. But her real problem was telling everybody what they should be eating. She wasn't pushing vegetarianism or veganism across-the-board, she had a different complaint for everyone. Namgyal needs more carbs, I need to lay off the sandwiches, Deena needs to eat MORE sandwiches. She eventually got so mad at us for not complying that she started ~throwing our lunches out~ while we were off working. She was caught the second time, thankfully, and pretty swiftly canned when she didn't see any problem whatsoever with what she was doing.

Not HR, but at college there was a group chat among the school band I was in. At some point there were jokes about taking drugs as is tradition. However, one of the people in the group chat didn't think it was a joke at reported it to the school. He was in some kind of special ed program and had trouble picking up on sarcasm. He was already getting on people's nerves because he rarely showed up to meetings and had a huge ego, thinking he was way better than he really was. Since he was in a special program, he was basically untouchable and faced no repercussions for any of this except being talked to. Our sympathy for him ran out that day.

Well, yeah, AC being broken sucks but most places also keep it too damn cold so YEAH I can see why people would complain they're freezing with the AC on. I've done the wear a sweater in the middle of summer thing myself, especially because I have poor circulation and cold is far more physically painful for me than normal people. That's because the AC is set to like 40f. Coming into something like that after 90f for long periods of time and then back out into the heat usually made me sick. My professor got pneumonia because of the way too low AC at uni. Keep it at a reasonable temp, ffs.

“The doctor called me fat” one reminds me of my dad. We live in a somewhat rural area and he’s gone through everything doctor in a 50 miles radius, filing formal complaints against them, because they tell him his ailments are caused by alcoholism. He says there’s no way it’s that because he doesn’t drink that much and they just don’t want to give him pain meds for his broken back (which occurred when he fell while drunk) and hip (which had to be replaced after he fell and broke it while drunk). He’s also losing his memory at an alarming rate because his brain is essentially being pickled in alcohol (tests have confirmed all of this). But no, he’s not an alcoholic.

I told the woman flatly if I found out a employee on my floor or section was doing that with a janitor or cleaner, I'd ask that they be fired or demoted. Apparently they were not doing work, just harassing hourly cleaners. 😡

His grandma was likely at home watching Jerry Springer. Fairplay and his friend came up with the lie before he went out. "how's grandma" was the code to begin lie. the producers found this out when they called his home to see if there was anything they could do....maybe let him come home early or something....his grandma answered

Another employee, who happened to be transgender, eavesdropped and concluded that he was making derogatory remarks about transgenders (he wasn't) and complained to corporate headquarters. He got suspended and fired about a week later. He was later offered to reapply for his old job as a seasonal worker, but he declined.

This doesn't leave us with too many options within budget, but let's talk." "No, I'm not going to stop giving out liquor. I understand you don't like it because of your religious views, but this is something we will always do. I won't give it to you, so I, on behalf of the company, am respecting your religious views. However, I, also on behalf of the company, will also respect other people's choices to drink what they want." That said, I had someone report me for talking about people behind their back, despite me talking about something that factually happened. I didn't lie, or slander anyone's name, I talked about something that really happened. Who reported me? The same bitch who trash talks pretty much EVERYONE behind their backs. What was funny was the manager asking me how I would like it, and my response caught her off guard. "I honestly wouldn't care, I've got bigger things to worry about." "Okay, well, what if you heard them saying it though?" "I still wouldn't care." "Yes you would. It's hurtful." Who is this bitch to tell me how I would feel? The fuck?

One of the parents of his student complained that he 1. said he was psychic (wtf? what?) 2. he said 'crapple' in relation to apple phones (he's an avid android user, though I have an apple myself) 3. he said he didn't like elon musk. I don't blame anyone wanting to use crayons to color a color book, even a childish one, when working at a cable/internet provider. 26:02 I only did that once due to a bad scrape I had gotten when I fell down some stone steps in sandles. When it became apparent that I couldn't wear my close-toed shoe and sock due to the pain, I was allowed to not have to wear my shoe but to keep it out of sight. So I was basically standing there with one shoe off. The next day I came in with my foot wrapped in an ace bandage, which allow me to wear my shoe comfortably. Looking back, I have to wonder why nobody thought to go to the medicine section or find the first aid kit for an ace bandage. Geez.

To be fair, feral pigeon is a delicious game bird along side dove and pheasant and has been a part of diets for a long time. I hunt them at my local farms. That being said, it depends on where you live. A pigeon that lives in a city is not one I would eat, where as one that lives on a farm way out in the country side eats everything all the other game birds do, and have way more meat than a mourning dove on them

I'm not saying that girl was not in the wrong for wanting a little bit of input on how she is doing her job if it isn't someone going overboard and being nut... I don't understand why nobody seems to get this why companies can't figure this out, Can't tell you how many people I speak to that say you know I would work myself into the ground if they would just recognize that I'm trying that I'm making an effort if they would just come say good job thank you for all the hard work.... And maybe that seems like a lot to some people to step aside and say thank you for showing up to work... I get that's what we're paid to do I get we're making an even trade, I put in physical labor or mental labor and you give me money... But being happy at work can intensely affect how well you do you job... Who do you think's gonna do better somebody who shows up happy smiling bouncing dancing around ready to have fun and take on the day, Or somebody who feels under appreciated ignored sad lost and alone do you think they're gonna get as much done physically or get as much done mentally. no I can tell you they're not, And any person that's not a sociopath knows that, There's no true way to leave our personal life at home and our work life at work it all follows us around all the time. Anybody that says they don't find themselves occasionally thinking about something other than work while their work is lying. Our boss goes out of the way to tell us thank you for all the hard work today, And everyone on my team in that factory smiles when he says that I've watched have watched him and he genuinely means it. He's not just saying it because management told him to. We have a strong team and it shows.

20:30 yeah, try living with a person who constantly gets pissy because anyone making food makes him hungry. My FIL is a massive glutton and easily eats as much as 3-4 people, no exaggeration. It doesn't matter if he had literally just finished eating, new food smells make him want MORE. This means he wants us to eat when he eats, and only eat the same thing he's eating. If my S/O and/or I share whatever we're making FIL gets mad that he's eating too much and is gonna gain weight (rarely turns food down though). If we don't share we get passive aggressive snide comments thrown at us for the next 2-3hrs. He lives with us and back when I worked night shift he tried to tell me I couldn't warm up food in the microwave when I got home cause the smell made him want food but he didn't want to get out of bed yet. That didn't go the way he wanted it to, and he pouted for months until my S/O bought a second microwave to put in the office/computer room just to shut his dad up. Good times!
