You’re not wrong. I remember this like it happened yesterday. I remember every detail of my environment while watching it. I remember my reaction, how I was literally so speechless. No one in the room was saying a word. Couldn’t even hear anyone breathe. No one was moving an inch.

@@DougieYTI agree. It was never beautiful. There’s always been too many skyscrapers in New York for it to be beautiful.

I was on the Circle Line Tour two weeks before 9/11. We had the most spectacular view of the towers from the boat. It was also my first time seeing Lady Liberty. We saw all the fantastic sights of NYC, and we even passed the base of the Twin Towers as we left later that day. I remember looking straight up at them from the car window. They were truly larger than life. There are no words to describe what it was like to come home to the news of the Twin Towers having been destroyed so soon after that. I was still in grade school at the time.

You should watch the movie Bait with Jamie Foxx and David Morse. They're all over the place in that movie! Their base is even inside one of them! Also the video to Limp Bizkit's - Rolling. That song was actually filmed up top!!

@@user-kp8sx1nh1c You're very welcome. 🙏 Namaste.
I had just turned 19 a little over a week prior to this. Worked overnights. Got off that morning, my roommate and I went to get breakfast. Stopped at the gas station and ran into my cousin. She told me the news. At that time everyone was speculating. I had no sense of what was fact and fiction (And to an extent I still don't know) All I knew is I had to get home and figure out just what the hell was going on. As soon as I walked in the door I headed straight for the TV. No smartphones, no social media. The first thing I saw was a man covered in dust cursing on camera with no bleeps. No bleeps? Uninterrupted, raw live footage, and no one knew what was going on exactly. That's the first time I realized this was much heavier than expected. Then I saw the second building fall. I knew then we were NEVER going back to the way things were. The shift was felt immediately
My Favorite Towers
I saw the Twin Towers from afar when my family stopped in Jersey Park on vacation in August 2001. We were on our way to south central Pennsylvania from Massachusetts. I was 12 years old at the time and I have pictures of the statue of Liberty with the twin towers behind it. When the attacks happened a month or so later it was surreal.
I was at Liberty State Park on either July 5 or 6, 2001. I remember it being an unseasonable cool, windy day (for July standards) and we have pictures with WTC in the background.
The og WTC would’ve looked so cool in 4K, imagining taking a selfie 1,300ft over NYC
I’m sad I never got to see the WTC the twin towers were amazing

Yes they truly were. I went 3 times. 1991 1994 and 1997 and they were truly larger than life. You could fit the empire state building inside one of them if it wasn't widened at the bottom.

Me too. I haven't been inside the old twin towers because I was in elementary school.
Should have rebuilt it exactly. To show that what happened cannot defeat the US.
@user-kp8sx1nh1c

YES!! Don't let anyone tell you different. MANY people have said that including me. Donald Trump offered to rebuild them and hired Kenneth Gardner. The same politicians that made 9/11 happen are the ones who stopped it. Even people who lost loved ones on 9/11 understood that they would want the Towers they loved back.
Enjoyed use of Enigma for background sound.

The building across liberty st from 2 wtc south tower. The north face was severely damaged on 9/11. The building sat too long unkept and mold and contamination filled entire building it was dismantled 2007-2011. Sadly in August 2007 a fire broke out while it was being dismantled and 2 firefighters died.
Fills me with sadness.. A time where the world was quite different.. It vexes me that the planning of an attack of that magnitude and sophistication of 9/11 went completely unnoticed by the intelligence community. RIP to all those who perished on 9/11 and those who perished from illnesses bought on from the aftermath of 9/11. Terrible loss of life that didnt need to happen.

It’s because America was lazy and egotistical, the terrorists were in the United States as early as 1999-2000, and almost all of the country’s agencies had the information needed to catch these assholes. In fact, the 1993 Attacks should’ve told them that these buildings were a red flag and a hot spot for terrorists.

@@stevengallant6363 I have not seen one shred of credible evidence that would support the "inside job" theory. I've also seen the "Corbett Report - 9/11 Trillions - Follow The Money" film which points out some interesting and suspicious behavior in the lead up to 9/11, its still no smoking gun... The scenario in the series "the looming tower" offers a more likely possibility of why this attack succeeded - incompetence and stupidity on an epic scale from the intelligence community.
4:13 That's the World Trade Center Tapestry by Joan Miró and Josep Royo, located in Lobby 2, South Tower. It was destroyed during the attack and collapse of the towers.
1:49 That would've been a fatal spot to be standing in as the South Tower fell...
New York City, the city that always changes, so much history.
