Its a lovely spot. I have seen photos when it was abandoned by BR, grass right up the platform surface. Its good that it now looks better than it ever did!

@@ADMIRALSCORNER Sorry for the late reply Mike. Yes, I remember the steam trains running on the tracks behind the bottom field of the farm :). Hope you are both keeping well xx

The up to Bishops Lydeard seemed better patronised than 9351-horse box and its down service to Minehead, but interesting to see the number who transferred from the up to the down. Classic shots of the two platform station, appropriately signalled with semaphores, and the properly attired volunteers. They look the part. In my state of Victoria, Australia, until recent years we had some stations where on a single line there was only one platform, so if two passenger trains crossed, one had to back out and go into the loop. That sort of working doesn't typically occur between two 'passes' now except at Camperdown, which is not far from our only area in Australia with those typically English (and beautiful) stone drywall fences on property boundaries. WSR's tracks look to the casual observer to be in good repair so despite the lack of funds coming in as trains were cancelled, during COVID-19 lockdowns they must have done some trackwork. Very good. Great series of gala videos showing different aspects.

A fitting end to a gala full of confusion and delay, I heard from Marsh Steam Videos. The Caledonian tank engine failed and the timetable was thrown out of the window. Yet, Foxy and her other steamy friends put on a steam-tastic performance. There's always something that causes confusion and delay, believe me. I'm glad you enjoyed "chasing" Foxcote Manor, and keeping up with her, just for me.😂🙃

I hope you enjoyed it on the Sunday! I started at Bishops Lydeard on the Saturday; footage here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/g2WFltaEetXWkaQ.html As the day went on, they were a bit ‘flexible’ with the timetable. In the afternoon, there appeared to be a report of a line side fire somewhere - didn’t affect me, fortunately. One of the snags of a dry Spring.
