To heck with Ocean waves, or Fountains, Babbling Brooks, etc., *this* is downright calming and soul soothing. Bravo to your channel and all your cool resto's man.
Great as always. You're the Bob Ross of restoration, it's very well made and relaxing to watch.

Underrated comment!!
I really enjoy these short videos on single component restorations in this Impreza series. And I think that adding some genuine RRC narration makes them both a bit more educational and also personal.

An audio & visual joy once again dude 🙏🙏🙏. And thanks for sharing the knowledge as well. Top job, as ever 👏👏👏. 😎
I have to say that your accent makes the detailed work, feel more precise. I'm not sure why but I think it's soothing, mate. Cheers from Delaware USA . I greatly appreciate your painting experience and advice 🙏🤙🤘. Beautiful work
Great job on this intercooler, it looks brand new 👌 Thank you mister 😉
Well done Buddy, Great work, clear precise commentary and a good bit of music to finish with. Your Videos just get better and better. I cannot think how long that must have taken, not just the work on the Intercooler but the video work, setting up the shots ( I still love the anonymity aspect) and the video editing. A real tour de force.
Another great rebuild. For years I have been using a screw driver that I’ve shaped for radiator cores. But now I’m using tweezers. Great job old mate.
Short, concise and clear. It's so fun watching your video. Looks like new stuff. Excellent work, man.

Ah yes the old Haynes Manual phrase "reassemly is the reverse of disassembly" 😂😂. Great Video as usual!
Sir you are an artist, it's a pleasure to see your works
Great restoration. I was fooled by the thumbnail though - it made me think you were going to spray the STi logo on the fins.
Always very relaxing to watch (and of course, interesting). Thank you very much !

Beautiful work as always!
I really need to get those pipes for mine. I havent really thought about it. Well done, as usual!
TIL petrol is a great solvent! Obviously you need the area to be well ventilated to avoid an explosive atmosphere, but it got that oil out beautifully!
Turned out nice! Tweezing fins sounds mind-numbing!

Thank you, Yeah it is rather tedious but well worth the effort.
Two flathead screwdrivers are beat for straightening the for perfectly and swiftly
I don't envy you straightening those fins!
So pleasure to se you motor-videos. It is nice to see how accurate you do this. Im German and if I dont know I would say you too! Sometimes just difficult to understand because you speak little fast.

Love those close-ups!
Outstanding job sir.
Zip ties or cable ties whichever you choose to call them are great for straightening the metal fins

08:09 thanks mate :-) Great work as usual - though one never gets used to your fantastic work.
Like a hit job on the radiator with Maria style preparation.
Another awesome job congratulations my friend
It sounds like a good idea to clean ANY still functioning Inter-Cooler that is found on these cars or any car for that Matter . It was amazing how much oil was inside this cooler .
Another fantastic restoration!!! I can’t wait for the next episode of this restoration. May I ask what was the solution you used in your ultrasonic cleaning unit? Thanks again for another entertaining and informative video. Cheers🥃
Cracking job again 👏
An air oil separator helps a ton with keeping oil out of the intake on boxer engine. I grabbed the IAG one, since it runs coolant through to keep the aos the same temperature as the engine. No condensation build up with the coolant running.
Nice job men
There is a specific tool for doing those radiator fins. I once had a blocked rad while in Cornwall and the place I went to took off the header and bottom, unclogged the core and resoldered it, then straightened all the fins with the tool.
Another good job well done there Big Man👍🏻👍🏻

Love the restoration. I was a little behind on videos but already caught up. Although I am a little disappointed that there was no testing of the intercooler to check the arp sound.
TWEEZERS!!!!!! you are a genius. Screwdrivers just did not do the trick for me.
good to see my friend the towel in this episode, he's cool and strong
Howdy, enjoyed this video ( as always) , to be honest the vapor blaster stirs the rage of jealously😁. I have used plastic tool called a fin comb to straighten cooling fins in various radiators. Here ours get bent by 110kph+ impact with pre historic bugs. Tried flat blade screwdrivers, never tweezers though.😀
Those intercoolers are handy tool trays, hence the bent fins 😁
Options if you dont have a vapor blaster to restore the corroded outside?
Nice video as always. HIghlight of my week when RRC videos are on my playlist! Quick question: How do you know to apply grease on threads of bolts? Do you have a manual?
Let’s go! Another small but big restoration.

@@RRCRestoration its a Formula 31 PC from 1998 and there is a lot of work to do. New canvas, new ceiling, cleaning the engine bay. Sometimes i wish i could do all this work as perfect as you. But my job allows me not to spend so much time with it. Be sure youre my insperation
My OCD was very well satisfied with the cooling fin straightening, cheers 🍻😎.

What sealant did you use on the IC to keep it from oxidizing?
Really nice job👌🏻
Nah, you sneaked out and bought a new one didn't you 😜 Another fantastic restoration, after the cleaning I noticed the few bent fins and though hmm, what to do about those, but I had no worries when I saw the tweezers on the bench.
Enjoy this so much. Lets me know the pain of some of the work I gotta do lol. Curious to know the Y pipe upgrade you got. Ive seen many silicon ones, but never metal. And I would prefer that.
Love your channel! Curious how many different camera you use at once? Your videos give the impression that there are many cameras involved!
From the thumbnail I was wondering how the heck you got the fins so clean. low pressure vapor blasting makes sense! I really want to find some kind of rubber tipped perfectly sized and shaped tool to straighten fins. They never seen to come out just right even with the combs I have. I do have a 3D printer now. Maybe I should just make something. Great work!

Great video! Given its an Impreza, no prizes for guessing how that oil got in there 😂 also, do you have any recommendations for sealant clearcoats to use on stainless?
Ayeee perfect-o!! 👌🏻👌🏻
choice of lubricant type when reassembling the recirc valve piston?
Does the coating on yhe aluminium effect perfotof the intercooler?
so ive dealt with turbo honda everything from D to K ..... 1 question was that bov bolted to the inter cooler?
I would rename that tool box from Snap-on to Crack-on!
great job

What ultrasonic cleaning solution do you use RRC?
Nice job. Must take a lot of patience to do all the straightening.
More fantastic work, this is going to be an amazing example of an Impreza once its done. Can I ask what you use to seal the aluminium?
@zardportugal

"Can I ask what you use to seal the aluminium?" That is the big question. Cheers.
what fluid did you use for clean in ultrasonic cleaner ?
After an hour of tweezing all the fins straight I went to take off the y pipe. As I was unbolting the tab on the flange with the threads snapped off. Defeat.
What sealer is used please?
What kind of sealer do you use?? What brand is the wapor cabinet?
Super travail 😇👍🤩
Thank you for the video. Can you tell us what sealent you used for the aluminium?
@filiprolek7509

I would like to know as well :)
What sealer did you use? Is it clear coat? Because that would inhibit it's cooling ability.
Did you use heat proof laquer to seal the alloy cooller please
What sealer did you use?
Love the vapor blaster, is that new?
The BOV is on the intercooler? Thats pretty neat!
What type of clear coat did you use? How has it held up so far? I'm actually in the process of restoring an STi intercooler myself!
Good job
hey! great job. such patience! tell me, when you put the blow off valve, why dind`t you put gasket maker on BOTH sides of the gasket? are boost leaks more comone onthe intercooler side than BOV side?
@JakeFaulkner
Жыл бұрын
he did - check 10:10, there's already hylomar on the BOV
Maybe someone asked but would a radiator or AC Fin Comb not reduce the time on straightening?
Was that Irn-Blu in the ultrasonic cleaner? 😅 Really though, what are you using?
The sealant you used was this just a satin lacquer?
