WRONG Settings That Make Smart Objects Pixelate! - Photoshop Tutorial
Are your Smart Objects in Photoshop becoming too blurred or overly sharpened when resizing? Or maybe they're pixelating and creating sharp edges. There is one setting that, when set wrong, will cause Smart Objects to blur, pixelate, and even break down! In this lesson, we'll learn what that setting is and how to make sure you're not damaging your Smart Objects and losing the entire purpose of using them. I hope this video helps you. Thank you so much for watching :)

I’ve been working in Photoshop since 1992. Back then it didn’t even have layers. I built my business around Photoshop and other Adobe applications. Still, Unmesh is my go-to for all things Photoshop today! I am 78 and completely believe that no matter your age, “life never stops teaching, so never stop learning”

With your smooth and happy voice, you’re like the Bob Ross of Photoshop

Ha! But not as trippy, (or medicated?, or as meticulous about “little happy trees”)🌲 Bob Ross was v cool, but our guy has an wonderful edge❤
Been obsessed 26 years w/ Photoshop since '98. At 71, still learning all the time & recommending your training to others. Ive saved soooo many of your videos for future reference, 'cause you're the best! Keep up the fabulous work!

The issue that haunts me so often, but never had the time to investigate, I rather just finish the job in Illustrator when resizing and them import it in Photoshop. And then this video comes recomended. Thanks man, your videos are very helpfull.
I started working non-destructively in Photoshop because of you. So when I saw the headline indicating that smart objects can be somehow damaged, I had to check t out. Very useful information. Many thanks, indeed.
As usual, you're always brilliant ... Thanks a lot❤👏👍
I always learn something new watching your videos. Thank you so much for being so generous with your knowledge!
Thank you!!! I had this issue before and I was wondering why that happened, you are the best👏
I always have this problem and to resolve it I use to rasterized the smart object layer after scaling, Thanks Umesh you are my man!
As always great tut!!!! thank you sooooo much!!
I always love your work , Whatever you do , It always amazes me ... Thanks bro 👌👍😊

All the tutorials of Unmesh are awesome🎉🎉🎉. Thanks.
Recently started using Affinity Photo 2 and was surprised to see I didn't have to make Smart Objects as it is non-destructive by default. Really good alternative to Photoshop
Greaaaat! Thank you. This setting helps too for resizing common JPGs?

Thanks for the tips ! I would never have figure it out by myself. What a strange Idea to burry that settings in the general settings... Adobe really takes weird decisions sometimes.
There's so many bugs with smart objects, its not only that. I've worked as a graphic designer for 2 decades more and this 2023-24 the bugs are still there like smart obj coming from illustrator, then resize. "Sometimes" it will turn it all black. And the most annoying of all with smart obj bug is when we resize the whole layers via transfer(selected all layers) then resize it proportionally, the only thing get resized is the bottom most obj, SOMETIMES the top most obj is the only thing affected. There were more but I forgot what it was, but when I met them again through working on multiple subjects, it appears. Its just that I'm too lazy to report them or take note of what it was. I work in a fast phased job, taking notes oftentimes get ignored.
Thanks 🙏
Thank you. Great as always. Why is your RESAMPLE checked when you resize? I always leave it unchecked. Can you make a tutorial on this please? Thx Unmesh ✌
thankss pixie hehe
I was literally about to have a melt down because I'm making a monster size AI graphic and all of sudden I noticed all of the smart objects looked like garbage... You saved me life!
That's what I use. It's amazing how many Photoshop users don't understand the technical side of photography. Being a Lab Technician for National Geographic for 40 years this side of photography was my life.
Sir did u turn off contextual task bar from windows menu?
similary problem with smart object. When i import high quality image to small canvas, it automatic import as a smart object(normal). But if i let it as a smart object the image is a little bit pixelate(even with the correct parameter as you mentionned). Unique solution i found is to enlarge my smart object image, pixelate it and then reduce to the correct size.
my copy of adobe ps (latest version) & beta default setting is bicubic automatic. I have no problems when resizing smart objects.
the video is 6 minutes of your life: very good Unmesh is not talking very fast: excellent
❤love it 💕
As with all of the Creative Cloud applications, there are numerous DUMB "default settings" that Adobe has chosen for us upon program installation. I believe the developers lie awake at night thinking, "How can we best screw up our end users?"
I have this problem with resizing Vector Smart objects from product artworks (just some text mostly). They are used on Photoshop Mockups, thus transformed freely to match the perspective. But I still feel they remain unsharp nomatter what setting I use. Any idea?
Love from Pakistan Stay Blessed Sir.
Hello, don't be tired, I am sending you a message from Iran. I always follow your videos. Is it possible, tell me the microphone. light pen . What is the model of the mouse and keyboard you are using? Thank you
Bro, there is any way to delete Recent/History file from PS? When i open PS I can you there lot of file That work i have done before. i want to delete thats Recent/History.
Pls I have an issue. When I work on a design, save and export, the colour looks very different when sent to my phone. I don't know how to fix it. Please help. Thanks
And what happens when you save a JPG or print a file with a smart object that looks sparkly? I presume they will look like it should, but I may be wrong.
Photoshop itself watches these tutorials
I thought it's only for previwe, and on export it filters with bicubic
I have a problem with my Photoshop. When I click on an object to scale it, sometimes I need to re-click to release. How do I cancel it or is it my mouse dysfunctioning?
Unmesh is just top notche
Lovely
How to set equal luminosity in two different colour ? Equal brightness Equal light in two different colours?
The remove object also doesn't work, it leaves a different texture in that area, at least for raw files.
great
Software engineers at Adobe are watching Unmesh tutorials and be like: Maaaan? I didn’t know that!😂
I have it set by default to bicubic Automatic
Adobe should make you their CEO
👍
That's why I do not change any default values I am not familiar with.😄
Not working. interterpolation always set to bicubic. I rather prefer to use my own action resolve this problem. Action make a copy of smart, scale it to +200/400% of curren size. After rastreze it and downscale it back.
my settings were already on bicubic
By default Photoshop is set to "Bicubic Automatic".
❤
Damn
2:53 i can see spiderman on your beard
bro was real interpretation of "When those Indian have a good english accent, they conquer"
why adobe? why? I worked on a project that this happened and I had no idea why.
When you transform Smart Object and put them into perspective - that does not help.
That effect is good though
