This project is so cool, I am inspired to follow suit, perhaps as a start writing surahs in Juz 30 as a reflection and test of my memorisation during that process. Thanks! Some ideas I have in mind would be: 1) Videos on mastering the various Madda. 2) Videos on knowing when is best to do waqaf/ ibtida' (taking pauses and stops) when reciting the AlQuran to prevent getting out of breaths and prevent error in the meaning (for some of us who are not proficient in understand the Arabic or Quranic language yet, but is able to read). Not sure if you're still checking out comments on this video since it's over a year old, but I figured I'll give it a shot anyway. My grandfather is a Hakem and he has always loved my handwriting. In fact, he used to brag about it to his friends all the time. This year for Eid, I want to make him a Qur'an. This means I'll be writing, decorating, and even binding the book myself. I know it's quite a task, but I am up for the challenge. And even if I don't finish it by Eid, I'm sure he will love it whenever he receives it. I was wondering if you had any recommendations on the type of paper I should use, and if you know where I can acquire it. I don't want to hand him a 15lb book, but I do want it to last a while. Thanks for your advice and help, brothers.

As Salam o Alaikum, Wisam Bhai’s tajweed teaching style is superb. I wish if he deliver some tajweed lectures in Urdu. It would be more helpful for those who don’t understand English. Not sound related but rules of tajweed specially what he says”commit” the letters “ ل،و،ن و۔ع۔ر”۔. His style is very friendly. Brother keep it up. Allah bless you more and more.

Also, how be respectful of our written Quran, i.e. how to store it between practice sessions, any guidelines on when or where we can write, etc. Hopefully, this makes sense. Alhamdu lillah For me to easy recite and memorize Quran and I spoke Arabic too But my kids specially 2 boys they have difficulties How to memorize a script and without knowing what is it mean! And still they hardly pronounced letters such as ح،خ ،ع،غ،ق

Salam, on @1:58, there appears to be an error in the rasm for Ayah 13 of surah Shams. You wrote "فَقَالَ" as "فَقَٰلَ", which it should be the first way. All modern masaahif have it the first way, even some classical manuscripts have as "فَقَالَ" and not "فَقَٰلَ" the way you wrote it.

Assalamu alaikum brothers, I was wondering if it is possible for me to memorise the Quran if i cant recite it that fluently and if i sometimes misread the letters without realising? Or would you suggest that i perfect my recitation before i even begin with memorisation? Also can i apply for this challenge…even if i am not fluent while reciting the Quran, and just hope that with time, practice and patience eventually it will get easier? If you are not able to read Quran fast, but you can still read it no matter how slowly, then YOU CAN START MEMORISING THE SURAH OF QURAN YOU READ. I also am not able to read Quran very fast, but I have already started memorising Quran, and I have memorised many surah till now. So do not wait, just get started and start memorizing with smaller surah. I would suggest you to memorize fisrt the last 10 surah of Quran, from 105th to 114th surah. Then start from 90th Surah to 104th Surah, and then from 78th Surah to 89th Surah. This will complete ONE PARAH of QURAN.

As salamu ‘alaykum, when it comes to writing the Mushaf, have you taken any courses on "Ilm al Rasm," and have you gone through a book with a teacher? Like Al Muqni' by al-Dani, or Aqeelah Atraab by Imam Shatibi? If not, why do you always speak about "having a teacher," when you are teaching something without "having had a teacher" yourself to teach it to you?

Also, I feel like you're missing the bigger picture in the sense that he's not teaching calligraphy or script. Rather, the objective is to use general literacy and writing as a means of memorization and retention - as demonstrated in many parts of the world (more specifically West Africa) and historically in the prophetic tradition. @@khanceptbelal good point. This is discussed in Al Muqni’ the book I mentioned. And it goes over the reasons why learning the rasm is still a requirement for that… If you read the book, you would know why it’s still necessary to learn the script from a Teacher, even for memorization, because of certain differences that exist in the Qur’an’s we have today in their script…

@@khanceptbelal I’ve watched that video. But the issue is learning half baked literacy is just as bad, if not worse, then learning recitation incorrectly. To permit that would be to substitute one problem (poor recitation) with another one (Qur’an’s that have incorrect script and erroneous usuli rasm).
