Once you have the equation written out, you replace the x’s with whatever given value you have, then simplify the quadratic down to y= (whatever number you end with) Example: find corresponding y value for x=3 in y=2x^2+4x+3 You now have y=2(3)^2+4(3)+3 18+12+3 Y=33 If this doesn’t help I can make a video showing an example for you. We half the 2nd difference an^2+bn+c first four terms in a sequence of 1,2,3,4 produce a 2nd difference of 2a. By dividing by 2 we have now isolated the value of “a”. I will make a video explaining this and showing it as a proof.

In this scenario you need to set up 3 equations with variables typically being a, b, c. You then solve a system of 3 equations using elimination or substitution method. I can fill a video of this if you’d like me to post one this week for you.

Great question! Always take the second difference you find and cut it in half. For example: if your 2nd difference is 4 then your "a" would end up being 4/2, which is just 2. Let me know if this helps.

Great question! The c value would be zero. So in the equation you would only have 2 terms on the right side of equal sign instead of 3. The ax^2+bx
