Lars doesn’t know this but I’ve met him a few times in my life when I wasn’t doing so good and each time his kindness and his music brought me back to what’s important. A genuine good dude

I have the same experience with Tim. He was walking on the buss and everyone was hounding him and I just said Tim and he turned around and was like what’s up man, and i was just told him how much he saved my life with his music and he was just grateful for my time

Saw them way back on the And Out Come the Wolves tour at Bogart's in Cincinnati. Really laid back awesome dudes. That was a hell of a show. I'll never forget it

Me and my best friend saw Lar's walking walking backstage backstage at warp tour in 1996 and he and I jumped over the barricades and ran over to him period of course security came running after us. And. And they grab both of us and and Lars said said these are my nephews F u's they're with me they're cool leave me alone. He gave us each a beer, introduced us to Stephen from Deftones & Rick Thorne, another childhood hero of ours. Soooo fuckin nice of him and it left a huge impact on us to this day 25 years later! I'm so happy Lara finally got a signature guitar but I'm disappointed Gibsin never came to the table with an offer for him. That was fucked up!

Rancid has absolutely saved my life several times. I would get in the car and talk to the stereo. "please take me away". i get it.

Been a Rancid fan since I was 16 in 1996. I forget how much I have in common with Lars when hearing his life story, but he is just such a relatable dude. I spent a few years in my twenties DIY touring out, but eventually settled into tech as an engineer. I love my work. I bring my lessons from a life of punk rock with me to work everyday.

Just saw Rancid a few days ago outside Pittsburgh. Guys are still amazing live. It’s crazy to think out come the wolves came out 25 years ago! Timeless man truly timeless

great video, used to work at Epitaph in the 90's as graphic designer, worked on "out come the wolves", and a thousand other bands, met Joey Ramone a few times, the Cramps, used to drive Tim Armstrong to his home in LA from Epitaph studios to his place, and thats what what we did

That lollapalooza show with rancind,.ramones and Devo was my first show ever at Irvine amphitheater. I was 13. I remember the circle pits around bon fires. It was nuts.. but got me hooked on punk rock and still sportin my rancid shirts more than 20 years later!

I met Lars a long time ago in Haight Ashbury. He looked out for me. Forever grateful.

Saw Rancid at Madison Square Garden with the Misfits and The Damned.......THEY WERE LIGHTS OUT!!!! BEST SHOW EVER🤘

Outdoor Punk Shows at the Palladium are awesome. Saw Rancid twice in Worcester.

Just took my son to see Rancid he is the same age I was when I seen em first. He was going through some shit and this show was what he needed. I'm 42 he's 17 I took him to hi first mosh pit. I saw him through. He is also a wrestler I'm an Ironworker. I grew up a middle class street punk. Proud of it!

I've met Lars after a Rancid concert at the Roxy. He was super cool to me. The dude is just a normal down to earth human being. I've become a super fan of his after this. I was already a fan, but talking to the man in person just showed me how much of an awesome human being he is. Long life to the Viking!

I hope I can get this to Lars. I did the same exact thing with my mom. She died 2 days after your mom 2020. She was 86 and I got to see her let go because she wanted to let go. It was peaceful and put so many things into a different perspective. I just thought I'd share that with you. Thank you. Abel.

It’s quite incredible how Rancid as a band just gel. The front duo of Lars and Tim is the best in music history imo. And… they never sold out!

Just saw Rancid on their first date here in MN 2021 with DKM. So much love for this chat with Lars. He is so lovely. First part makes me laugh thinking of my rock star dad who hung out with some big bands at Warped way back when while young me was livin life. Great chat!

Met Lars waaaaayyy back in the day, 1996. I was working security at a little club named “The Edge”, that no longer exists in FT. Lauderdale. Super down to earth guy. Totally genuine person.

I remember being at the premier of live freaky die freaky in sf. My little sister was in town for the first time, she had become a drummer after I left the east… we showed up and tickets were sold out.. Lars walks up and asks us if we were going inside.. we said we didn’t have tickets.. then he gives us his two extra tickets and she was able to get inside for the showing. Such A true guy! Making dreams come true

I was at the Rancid and Dropkick Murphys show the other night in cincy with my brother. First show out since my son was born, he’s 17months now cuz well covid sucks. I FaceTimed him (yeah yeah I became that guy for a minute Lol!) and mom during Roots Radicals and the little dude was jamming and giggling instantly. I’ll remember that forever. It’s like you get to redo childhood and a second chance to make things right that sucked about it!

"Let's Go" has always been my fav RANCID album.

Lars we are the same age and taking my son to pick his first album and it excited me when he picked a rancid and smutpeddlers and I gave him the biggest hug

My parents took me to see Vietnam, roger Merritt and the disasters, with lars frederickson and the bastards headlining I was 12 and it was my first show

Lars rocked it in Minnesota a couple of weeks ago he was so cool after the show he stayed up on stage and interacted with this everyone passing out whatever he could find on stage

This was an incredibly insightful interview, I'm really glad that I listened to it.

i'm a very late gen x kid (born in 1980), in the middle of nowhere illinois. in the midwest, goddamn do i feel this man's words.

Anyone who has not seen a rancid show and has the chance, take it. Will be worth every penny. Before it died, got to see both these guys at warped tour.

I never got into Rancid but I absolutely recognize and respect their place in not only punk rock but music history. That said, I didn’t know Lars was such a big wrestling fan until I saw him pop up on Punk’s BITW doc but the dude is fucking legit when it comes to knowing his wrestling history and I just thought that was so cool because of how parallel punk rock and wrestling are to one another.

Firstly, when Rancid came out I thought I was too hardcore cause of being a punk in the OC scene starting in 84. Then I listened to AOCTWolves and was floored by how good it was. I've been a fan ever sense. Every one of their LPs kicks arse. I can't wait to hear what's next.

I'll never forget how surprised I was when I shook Lars's hand... He had the softest hand I ever shook. I got my picture taken with him and he signed my shirt and ticket stub... I still have them..

Caught wind of your podcast after watching you and Tommy End (Malachai) interview and I’m glad to see you were able to meet up with Lars after all. You talking about the impact wrestling entrances had on you reminded me of when my older brother and I would play Wrestlemania 2000 on the 64. The audio cables didn’t work so would play whatever music we had on hand as the entrance music and waking the fallen was definitely the one we played the most. Now I just gotta go back and watch the rest of the interviews you’ve done!

Back in the day in Denver we had this show called Punk Tv. It was on late at night and I remember it was Lars or Tim crawling out of a Denver alley dumpster with a handful of Life Won't Wait albums. He said he wandered where they were all going. Lol. Good times.

I met Lars a few times at shows in the 90s as a stoked fucked up kid and I just thought it was sick that he paid attention. Solid dude.

I wish my dad was still alive to have seen this he would have loved it

It was 96 I went to the Syracuse NY show ..it was the Ramones final tour

Man, Ya'll are taking me back with this wrestling talk. I remember where you had to wait for that one night on Monday to watch, I also watched on a Saturday. But I also remember buying blank VHS tapes and you know, you would record Monday Night Raw on tape and you might catch something amazing that night. You just recorded maybe something extreme or dramatic happened that night and you watched it a few times that week.

Wow Lars was very insightful and wise here. Work hard at your passion, worry about and care for those close to you, the rest will handle itself.

I was at a Rancid gig here in Italy in 96. It was a small club not more than 2000 people and one of the best shows in my life. They played all the wolves album it was crazy

Taking care of a parent at the end of their time is a traumatic experience. It sucks but my dad would have done the same for me and I'm glad we had that time together.

STILL HAVENT GOTTEN TO SEE RANCID!!! I was a C*NT HAIR AWAY FROM SEEING LFB!!!! They were like the 1st or 2nd band to play at the ONLY WARPED TOUR I WENT TO!!! The gates too soooooo long to let us in! I missed their set! Cane in on the last 2 songs of ANTI-FLAG! another hand I havent seen before!!! Got to see BxSx (Bouncing Souls) I'd seen them many o' times! It was that early and they were already wasted but sounded just as amazing as their CDs. Saw Tiger Army, I'd seen them play a few times! And then walked around cause the bands playing for a while were blehh. Ran into Justin Sane from A-F. Got him to sign my ticket and he hit on me soooo hard! Wrote XOXO On my ticket also. Got to see Groovy Ghoulies at the side SPACE set stage that was loose 2 feet off the ground! Was like 25 of us standing there! They were amazing!!! I still gotta see RANCID!!! Or just LFB!!! This was such an amazing interview! Im sending it to all my friends on fB messenger and told my bro! "You gotta check it out! Its sooooo RAD!" I found an art gallery where the artists work together. They help each other sell paintings, promote each other and hang out in circles to support other musicians. It's called Deep Ellum Art Company. Like Jesse said, "the more we keep competing, the more the battle's just begun" then again, it isn't anyones fault that thousands of years worth of social programming happened to them.

I first saw Rancid in 96' at Lollapalooza when I was 18. Last week I took my son who is now 19 to see them. Perspective.

Saw them last week in Cincinnati, great show. Long time fan, just wish they would play more of their good ska tracks, like daly city, heart of gold, I wanna riot etc. Also pre- OCTW songs where tim actually plays lol.

Before this touring fest those of us not on a coast and super stoked to share music and visual art. Like we have always done in the Ohio River Valley . Too bad over a centuries of Pittsburgh flushing the toilet on down to New Orleans
