These glasses are perfect. I have an extra motor cycle helmet Im going to chrome and put some LED EL Wire on for Halloween and didnt know what to do with the visor. After I cut a little of the padding out of the helmet, the glasses fit right in without having to take them apart. Feels Good Man

This is so awesome!👍😱 when I saw you make this it made my jaw drop!

It would be cool if the glasses had a sensor on them to detect brain activity, and alter the expressions based on that.

Procontroler TF2 Yeah, the technology exists, someone just needs to put it together. In the game, I assumed this was the tech behind his mask in game, since they seemed to roughly match his actual expressions. I suppose another way would be to add facial gestures.

G3AR your not supposed to blow on solder to cool it because rapid cooling can make the conection more brittle and it doesnt hold aswell. it creates tiny cracks in the solder

G3AR dude that ebay helmet looks awsome but it might be a little over kill. If you made a suit it would have to look a little bulky on the sholders just so the mask doesnt look out of place, i think it would look like you have a giant bobble head if you had a suit that wasnt bulky like he mask.

plus gas mask would serve a better function and would actually have practical use aswell useing it while painting, spraying plants with pestisides and generally working with chemicals. pluss safety lens so it can take a hit .

You could still drill the studs through the plastic in the mouth piece, or if you have a riveter, you can put them in that way

Wonderful man by the name of TheNeverCat here on KZread and also on Etsy sells these. They're expensive, but his mask is more true to the original. He was the first person to actually start doing these as well, being that he made them before the game even came out. I suggest you give him a look. He's even got a comprehensive tutorial on how to make it yourself.

***** nope mine fit in the mask fine, secured it in w/ some zip ties and boom 3hr of work's equivalent in 3 minutes, also if you want more comfort using this screw off nose thing and sand down that area.

I had a little post-video pondering session about that myself, and I have absolutely no experience doing anything like GEAR does or with electronics (it's just fun to watch) but what occurred to me was that maybe you could use buttons and such that you press to make a certain LED animation that also matches up with your body language and hand gestures. It's probably doable, but it might be hard and it's likely it'll look ugly too as there's nowhere to really slot in the buttons. What I mean with the body language is say, for instance, a button on the chin on the mask. You could do a sort of pondering gesture by tilting your head and resting the button on your hand, if you see what I mean.

If I had money, I would sponsor a video where experts in protective gear do battle in a safe location, where each one has one of your weapons, your retractable shield, and your 3d printed chain-mail. They'd definitely have protective gear with every kind of insulation underneath, but just enough to keep them safe, not enough that they'd not feel anything. Afterwards, they would give commentary on each item they tried, and how well it practically works. But unfortunately, I don't have anything to help make this happen.

G3AR It might be possible to get everyone to watch some. If you simply ask for the community to, the odds are that they won't. That's just psychology. *But*, if you show them what WILL happen if they do it, rather than "all the things I *could* do," they'll be more motivated to do it for that payoff. It's like kickstarter, but nobody feels as obligated. For example, if you gave people a video of you fending off Luigi Fireballs with your retractable shield and 3d printed armor, and saying that THIS will happen on a much larger and grander scale, but only if they take a few minutes out of their day to watch some ads, that would be *hugely* effective.

You know I think you could get away with one battery connection if you short the one side out. Then you could use a LiPo battery with a 3 volt regulator. It might simplify your design a little...
