Wrath of Ashardalon Board Game Miniatures Review
Ойындар
The Wrath of Ashardalon board game is the second entry into the Dungeons & Dragons Adventure System series. In this video I review the board game from the perspective of a mini painter and a dungeon master looking to expand his miniature collection. This is not a review of the board game but rather a review of the game's miniatures and their value to a DM or player of the D&D roleplaying game. Throughout the video I list what I like and do not like about the minis while also discussing my choices in painting them and some further painting ideas. I painted all 42 of the miniatures of this game. Take a look and have a listen.

The D&D Adventure System of board games has been going on for over 10 years now. Each entry in the series contains unpainted versions of official Dungeons & Dragons miniatures. If you do not mind unpainted minis, then this series could be a great way to broaden your miniature collection. If you paint minis, then these board games make for a fun challenge.

Painting a miniature can be daunting. Seeing a set of minis painted has often helped me take the leap and start painting. I hope this lends some ideas of how to paint these models and inspires you to pick up the brush.
That Gibbering Mouther was luv at first 👁️... Great job with the painting even better with the joke! I have all the board game set & started getting Epic Encounters, which are also amazing.. would like to take class to learn to paint them one soon. Ty for sharing this content 🤙
Very cool set, I have this game and the legend of Drizzt one. The minis paint up well and work for a variety of table top games, good video!
Great Video and painting!
Fun video, loved the bit you did with the mispronunciation of gibbering and your use of the Wilhelm Scream. Nice review, subbed.
Nice. Thanks for sharing.
Great job! I love seeing a whole set painted!
Love the Heroscape walls, I have tons of those too
Love that you can mix and match the boardgames EVEN as a solo player BTW. What I find interesting is that these older boardgames have plastic minis that if bent out of shape, are much easier to adjust correctly with hot water-> bend to correct angle -> quickly apply cold water to make em stay in the new way. Tried it on a few Fizban booster box minis. Didnt work... the stubborn Emerald dragon with a tankard kept leaning backwards EVEN after the method I used. Drunkard 😂

I agree. Being able to combine the board games is really cool. Lol. That drunken emerald dragonborn. At least if a rogue miniature is leaning back too much we can say they are doing a Matrix dodge. 😆
Thank you very much!! Great!!!
Those orc archers look good with white-painted face at the end of the video.
Das sieht verdammt gut aus gleich bestellt freue mich schon auf das bemalen
This was helpful
Great review and paint job! Got some inspiration for painting minis in my set. Are you planning to do The Legend of Drizzt?

I am working on the Legend of Drizzt video right now. I was hoping to have it finished today, but the script delayed it. Expect to see that video go live sometime in the next seven days!
They look nice. I wonder what they would look like with less paint to hide the details and more of a wash/dry brush approach.

So less paint to hide details or less paint to show more
Nice! I’ve painted the whole set myself except the dragon. I just can’t determine what color to do. I know it’s supposed to be a red, but I have red ones that size already.

I almost painted mine green. The fin running along the dragon's back give me aquatic vibes. The frills behind the head also look like the fins of a lionfish. Then again desert lizards sometimes have fins to help cool them down so these feature can go both ways.
Nice minis Good paint job Glad I found your channel Where do you find these games?

Thank you and welcome. Game stores carry these board games but usually only the more recent entries. The older board games in the D&D Adventure System series (Wrath of Ashardalon is one of them) are easier to find through online shopping. I found this series pretty late so I bought most of them through Amazon or MiniatureMarket.com.
