Wrap Your Ride - Protect Your Bike with 3M Protective Helicopter Tape for Cheap
3M Protective Tape: amzn.to/3zvkDfA
There are many companies out there that sell protective tape and stickers to keep your bike protected from travel, bike racks, bike locks, rocks, and wrecks. These can cost over $100 USD. There is a cheaper way if you are willing to spend the time and don't mind if it's not perfect. In this video, I show you how I use 3M protective tape to protect your mountain, road, and e-bikes by wrapping the frame with protective tape. It's easy to do with some patience.

Ive done bikes with the 3m tape and also Ride wrap custom kits. Buy the custom kit, have a couple hours and some beers laid aside and take your time.
awesome work. thank you very much for the DIY video.
Thanks
Great install tips. Thanks so much man

No problem 👍
I have used this on a few bikes. It's pretty easy to use. I have a new bike with a matte finish so I'm looking for it in a matte finish. Otherwise it will end being a gloss finish everywhere it is installed.

Have you found a good matte protective film?
Great video! Thanks. Please provide a link to the product as I search on 3M Helicopter Tape and yet I only get 3M tapes, and other brands Helicopter Tape.
Went back and forth between this method and one of the pre-cut methods and finally went with this. Tape should be delivered over the next couple days (along with my new bike 😀) so we'll see how it goes!

It actually went really, really well. It took time and patience but in the end and almost a year later, still going strong and at a fraction of the cost!

I get my new bike in a couple hour's now can't wait like Xmas over again lol but all seriousness it's my first emtb first bike for a few years can't believe how much I've paid but just one them things now to older full suspension, right anyway lol how is this stuff for UV yellowing? And does it peel the paint if left on to long as alot of tapes will do when cooked with sunlight! (By own experience with others years ago) thanks and happy new year
where I live this much 3m heli tape would be more than just buying an invis pre done kit
How much do you think length wise I would need to do the whole bike?
Hi, what it this stuff like for peeling back off and what it the UV protection like if any? I get my new bike in morning its being delivered I'm not going out on it till get some condom on it atleast lol
Xpel for me
Watching this stresses me out

A few scratches are fine. I’m with you. I’m too broke, too stupid to worry about wear marks on any tool. In fact, a tool that fails with just a few scratches isn’t worth my hard earned money. BUT my bikes are well earned and hard riding tools that deserve/need some extra love from me. It should be a crime that these expensive ass makers intentionally put out shit that will fail unless you pay them even more money to fix. But it is what it is. They ain’t gonna change. So real riders/users gotta close the gap and be hands on to make our investments perfect for our use. I’m glad that this guy put out a video to give us some tips AND a chance for all of us to talk and share experiences
