Idk I feel like I just still play the game cause it’s fun and just get camos along the way. I don’t need to grind to max right away. I kinda wish each gun had 1000 levels, so that in a year I could see how far I’ve gotten instead of having it maxed and then not wanting to use it.

I don’t know how this isn’t obvious to devs yet, but the “sweats” are like 5% of the player base. The other 95% see that the only thing to grind for in the game is unobtainable and they stop playing, and never pick it back up. Gamers have so many options and it only takes one slip up like this to crash a game

You cannot build a free to play game that is intended to be profitable in the long term on "sweats". Casual players will get tired of being humiliated by the pros every match and move on to another game where they can at least have a little bit of success every now and then. And "sweat" players only enjoy the game as long as they can dominate weaker players. Once they are just "sweats", they will get bored of it too.

As a casual player who works a full time job, and has a kid i only have at most 5 hours to play. I will never see any of those skins now.

Hit detection with shotguns are so shit it’s ridiculous

I would have added Obj XP for weapons, as well as add challenges for each weapon. Completing certain challenges gives you X amount of XP. Multi-kills for AR, Hipfire for SMG, point blank with Shotty, Equipment/Ability damage with LMG, Headshots for snipers, Longshots for Tac Rifles, kills soon after switching with pistols. I feel like completing challenges should cover a large portion of your grind.

So you now need 16% less XP per level up but they raised the XP needed to get a Gold weapon by 72% from 346.500 to 597.000, how does that make sense?! Making Bronze, Silver and Gold unlock at 100, 125 and 150 would be a fair trade off for faster attachment unlocks.

I say 75, 100 and 125! You unlock all attachments before you hit 50, then you have to play as long as that took before you get anything again? That is a long time, and it will feel even longer when you don't get anything on the way to give you the feeling of progress - besides the numbers ofc.

If they revert the camo grind to back what it was, and instead add assignments like 50 defend kills and 10 kills while capturing a point, something around playing the objective that would have been a better approach then what they did

I did the same thing. I have 15/24 weapons having all attachments unlocked, and only 2 of those 15 made it to 50 for bronze even.

I missed that old intro sound 🎉🎉

I work throughout the whole week and I have kids I only really get to grind on the weekends so this is now going to take me forever😭

i disagree with this statement honestly only way its fast is if you use your double weapon xp on the weekends when they had double weapon xp. If you played during the week with out weapon xp it was actually a little to slow. From someone who drops at the least 40 kills a game i have to say for everyones sanity the xp only needed a tiny bit of adjustment but now the way they did it shits not even really worth it unless your a streamer or youtuber full time. If your working a typical 9-5 this shit is unattainable to get mastery thats just facts. ​@hannanah8036

Cant believe they didnt just leave the levels where they are now and add new higher level camos. Would have accomplished their goal of giving players something to work for amd also avoided ticking off pretty much the eniter player base. Braindead moves from the devs.

they need more to grind for, not just more grind. something akin to unique operator weapon cosmetics not just for each faction but rather for each character.

They should have done it percentage wise so the guy that had level 97 just bump his gun up to 194 sure it’s still another 3 levels but no where near as bad

All they needed to do was adjust weapon XP & leave the mastery stuff the way it was! Feel like they've really dropped the ball on this one, grinding kills every game for weapon levels is not fun or engaging, I was getting all my guns attachments & was going to get gold later on but now being 125+ levels behind on nearly every gun I probably won't even bother doing it!

I feel like they should 1. Meet us in the middle and make it 50-100-150 and 2. Definitely add objective score to weapon xp. Will definitely make people more willing to play the obj

Right. Because every gun took less than 500 kills. In XDefiant, each gun takes about 5,000 kills. I understand the "lets get updoots for saying someone is being hypocritical" but be realistic. There needs to be a balance or a healthy medium between the two. I also said as much in the video but I guess I can't expect commenters or the people who unvote them to actually listen to the video. This is why the voting system is flawed, people read headlines and come to a conclusion, then die on that hill. Nuance is a thing

So stupid. Easier to get xp but hell no I’m not going to 200. Highest gun I have is 40 and then prolly 20’s the game still has core things wrong like getting shot around the corner. Not connection issue. The update shoulda just been objective weapon xp and higher kill xp

Biggest issue with the gold being 200, is that attachments are all unlocked by let's say roughly level 50 for all primary weapons, and then you have to do 150 more levels with a gun that you will unlock nothing else besides those camos

They need to add other camos in to help the grind.(Fall, blue tiger etc.) It's pretty underwhelming using a base gun until mastery seeing as battle pass camos are gun specific.

I was glad because my ACR was gold and was working on my AK and I logged in today and I knew I had it close to silver, but now I saw it was level 86 or something. I got confused and thought I had silver now. I went into the skin menu but I noticed I didn't had the camo. I got disappointed when I saw I was missing 114 levels... I stopped trying to get it. Now I just use random weapons. Now I stopped thinking about the grind. Maybe just hop on and play. I know how hard it was to get my ACR to 100, now it's double. I'm not planning to go through that.

I’m a COD refugee who moved to XDefiant, I work full time and go to university too. My free time is extremely limited, this change will make it to where I’ll never get gold on a weapon ever.

I only got to grind the ACR to bronze and the M4 to bronze. But honestly I will probably only grind them out to level 50.

this is very concerning, i feel there must be higher ups at play here. They want more player retention and the downfall of the game will be the cost.

17% less xp required+OBJ XP(confirmed coming soon) adding towards the gun leveling was more than enough, making the camo grind, which is the only thing we have to work towards today, 71% longer is absurd and may kill the game

I'd be fine with this if they added a lot more camos/skins to unlock between bronze, silver, and gold.

They need to put it back. I’m very unhappy I’ve gone through and I’ve got all my guns in the 40s. I was trying to do everything all at once bring them all up to bronze and silver then gold. The only one I worked on was my AK and got it gone so that means now everything that I’ve done was for nothing, thanks to Xdefiant

If you took the average numbers you got to get all guns gold, divide that by like an average of 35 kills a game for example, it would be nearly 2,500 games played to get them gold. If someone can only play about 8 games a day, 5 days a week, that would take them about 15 months.

The biggest objection I have to their changes is that they didn't increase the rate at which we gain XP for guns, they only changed the XP cap for them which makes it feel about the same for leveling up guns. I really hope they revisit this issue soon.

I was level 96 on the tac 50 sniper. Now I need to get to 200. Feels like a waste now because I'm average because just to have fun sometimes I do good or bad like go negative by 1 or 2 deaths. For an average or terrible player like myself this just makes things much harder.

Many players will leave the game, including me. I hope they react soon. If not, this game will be death in a few weeks.

Thing is though, this is a product. The game has to make money being there was no entry fee for the game on purchase. Even in the slightest that this is the case, can we really be mad? If the game isn't making money, then the game you like to play gets the coed pulled on it.

I honestly think the update is fine, it's a multi-year game. Should take time to get gold, makes it mean something

They patch the movement, the patched the Camos, still dying after jumping behind cover, hit detection wonky and still gotta spam the ability button to throw the damn shield out I think I’ll take a break until the new season, but even then if those problems aren’t fixed this game is gonna be one of the biggest what ifs if they don’t get right before bo6

I've heard this argument multiple times about the level increase and I genuinely don't see a problem. It happened to me too for multiple weapons I was close to unlocking mastery camos. There's nothing wrong with grinds taking longer. The whole idea that this is bad comes from the mindset that you have to achieve these camos quickly. I like the idea of attaching weapon XP to obj play though. I am also used to playing games that have opportunities for long term and short term goals dependent on how much you can play, so Im less adverse to the idea of long grinds than the average person.

What I think Xdefiant should do: Keep the mastery camo levels the same, but every new season, add a new camo to unlock for each gun. For example S1: Diamond camo (lvl 125) S2: Emerald Camo (lvl 150) S3: Obsidian Camo (lvl 175)

My main issue with weapon mastery is that there’s no other weapon skins at all. In most other games, you at least get some basic skins at low level, which makes the grind to mastery a bit more tolerable and interesting

I want to get this out there that there is a bug with the phantom blitz shield that is game breaking in the sense that if you die while you have it out there is a small chance that you will be basically placed in a passive mode where you’re unable to run shoot melee attack activate abilities, or use devices. what worries me is that the blitz shield has a little effect on the community and says for the people who enjoy that aspect I feel like no one will talk about it.

I just dont understand how some of these game companies think punishing the players is ever a good idea. We are talking about video games here, retroactively changing the goalpost for achievements just to lengthen the grind for what? they should have just agreed that the grind was too short and implemented weapon mastery camos going forward with a different model. Who cares if players are getting gold camo's? gold is overplayed and outdated anyways.

How are you viewing your overall stats?

50 for bronz, 100 for silver, 150 for gold. Every 25 levels should be a camo to unlock would be nice. No camos to unlock

It some point toward the end of the match I get stuck not being able to ads shoot or use abilities and it's not my controller

They said wanted attachments to be unlocked quicker not the camos

I was 3 levels from gold on my AA12 and now I’m 97 or something. But I like this change. It feels more rewarding to get these camos. I didn’t know who really put in a lot of time with something even if they had gold. Now I will.

So if you got a gun gold before the update do you lose your gold now

I would move bronze to 50, silver to 100, and gold to 150. For additional mastery camo's in the future they could increase the required weapon level at that point instead of instantly giving you that camo if you have already unlocked gold

Don't worry, they will gladly sell you boost so you too can almost not go crazy. NONE of you will quit, you will just keep paying.

Newer organizations simply don’t ask themselves enough questions and spend more time on solutions than dissecting the problem.

They don't need revert the change. They just need to add a tons of weapon xp to objective play to heavily incentivize it.

We need TDM…. nobody plays the objective and it’s frustrating

Me personally I like it when it takes a long time / grind to earn something! I don’t mind this new update but feel like it should be Level 50 - bronze level 75 - Silver level 100 - gold level 125 - Platinum level 175 - diamond level 200 - reactive camo

As someone who has already drifted away from the game because of the lack of true TDM mode, this ultra grind will only detract from any chance I might start up again when they do add it

they shoulda made 2 or 3 more mastery camos if they wanted to make it 200 gold is not that good of a camo to be unlocked at level 200 silver looks better

Not everyone want's a gold gun but I do agree with the players who go 6-20 who went after the objective should be rewarded for that style of gameplay.

What I’d do is keep the lower xp requirements per level, go back to the 50, 75, 100 mastery camo levels, add a +50 to 100% boost to weapon xp earned while playing the objective, and I’d focus on making cosmetics people want to buy instead of trying to cut the fun out of the game and sell it back.

please tell them to make attachments easier to unlock, i feel like i have to spend like 10h to unlock the supressor, or like 1.5h to unlock the light supressor

Were they supposed to be adding new mastery camo? So if that still the case are gonna be looking at weapon level 300 an 400 for plat an shiny and 500 for prism equivalent
