    I've been making these since the 70's, it a very old pattern, lol. It's actually faster and easier to make your length of herringbone and then over sew the top layer afterwards, then run your thread up and down each side of the original herringbone to reinforce and add your clasps then.. this is such a fiddley way of doing it. It's much better to add your clasp afterwards as it can get terribly in the way for beginners...

    Hi. I made a couple of these using micro-crystals and they are very pretty. However, I made some using 11o seed beads as the embellishment, and they work just as well as the crystals.

    Why wouldn’t you be able to use regular seed beads? Any bead that will fit on any string will work.

    You can use silver lined seed beads,11/0s instead of the micro crystals. Not many patterns call for micro crystals so I wouldn’t waste my money. But you will find lots of patterns to use the silver lined 11/0s in

    In the tutorial she states they are 2mm, approximately the same size as a Toho 11/0 seed bead.

    I’ve been making these a long time. But I used silver lined 11/0s instead of micro crystals. Not many patterns call for micro crystals. But because I use silver lined 11/0s a lot I always have them on hand in many colors. Happy beading all! 😂🎉😊

    Can you use a different clasp other than the toggle. Sometimes the toggle is hard to use. Maybe using 2 or 3 single beads before the toggle. Not sure. Never have done this design.
