Flew this exact same route last year. You were lucky to get the generous and roomy 2x2 seats. On the same A319 I had 3x2 config ,with middle seat empty - ala euro-biz style. Nonetheless service was faultless. Food meh, but stewardess worked tirelessly on this short flight, my glass was never empty of Russian vino and crew super friendly :) Sat next to some Rossiya trainee pilots who were excellent company! Given the price would defo fly Rossiya again. Nice review, thanks.

Wow, Rossiya's Business Class is so much nicer than the other European Airlines short haul premium products (well I guess Turkish Airlines is comparable). I'm really glad to see more Russian airlines getting reviewed on KZread! I love that Rossiya still has 747s too.

@@FilipWinter Oh wow I didn't realize that they flew the A350 between LHR & HEL. I just flew Finnair's A320 on this route and it was the typical inter-European configuration.

Another excellent production ! you show airlines that we don't really know enough about - a valuable service !

You know i like/love your reviews and tweets..one thing i really noticed on this review though is... you have a great relaxing voice, but the background music really took over. That said i loved the fridge shot and as always, a great review. CHEERS :)

Great video, thanks. We live under the flightpath into Gatwick and Rossiya seem to be the only airline that haven't yet modified their A319s and A320s to remove the whining noise.

Happened to me on Finnair. Beef or chicken? Got fish. Which was marvellous, so no complaints.

Wow! I live in St Petersburg. I often go for spotting to Pulkovo Airport. I flew by Rossiya business class, too!

Alright mate, sorry you did't quite enjoy your Russia trip. but just to respond to a few remarks from the series: 1) They've allowed mobile boarding passes the other week, that's settled; 2) Izhevsk is not Siberia. To put it really easy, Siberia is east of the Urals all the way to the Baikal Lake. You were a few hundred km west of Urals, so that's still European Russia; 3) Rossiya is only government-owned depending on the definition. The state controls the majority stake at Aeroflot Group, but it's also listed at several exchanges, not sure how much of it is there though; Other than that, thanks for the content! Always interesting to see how your own country is seen by foreigners.

Pulkovo use to fly the TU154M into Gatwick back in the early 2000s on this same route, i use to check-in and board this back then with Servisair and they were South terminal based then too.

Without a doubt, the best sound mixing of 2020 and probably 2019 (I can't remember that far back). Take a bow. Your direction overshadowed the flight itself - cannot remember much of the flight - so It must have been good!

I flew Aeroflot business class from Moscow to St. Petersburg (Russia not Florida) and it was the best business class I ever flew. Excellent service and comfortable seats.

Had a domestic flight with Rossiya in 2008 on a Tu-154. One dumpsterfire of a flight. I‘m surprised they developed that far! Well now it’s probably back to Tupolevs and Ilyushins…..

Hi, first of all thanks for a great review! St Petersburg is my hometown and I'm really glad more and more foreigners get to visit it. I also really enjoy flying with Rossiya. I've flown with them in business class as well, last in 2017, and glad to say that it seems they refurbished their cabins and made them even better.

Rossiya Airlines is a great modern, clean airline, good customer service in July and August 2023.

Chicken or Beef are the options, but you get fish. Makes total sense if you think about it haha. Thumbs up as always Noel

Nice review. I like your style a lot, in my opinion there are far too many “flight reviewers” (I use that term loosely) on here who would have cried blue murder if they didn’t get a bread roll. Yes the meal service could have been better, but overall it wasn’t bad and you don’t just focus on the negatives like a lot of the self-entitled so and sos on here!

Ah, waching this while flying xplane, doesn't get better...

so what do you think about the two recent boing crashes - as a nervous flyer, I watch your videos to give me confidence to fly - but you could have been on one of these two flights! ?

13:54 100% agree, even Security at Gatwick is top notch compared to Manchester Terminal 1. Hope they'll improve when the expanded T2 opens :)

Manchester is my local airport and it doesn’t get much right apart from the fact that they manage to depart and land planes there. Not a fan!

You know I originally was booked on Pobeda from LED-STN and it cost like £25. But then Rossiya had a sale on and I was able to get business class which I figured would be a nicer one to review :)

I would kill to go to Russia but I begrudge paying well over £100 for the visa. As for the passport control at Gatwick, it's the perfect system, usually through in a couple of minutes at the most.

They don't seem to mind you filming?

Will you upload Heathrow to Istanbul. Istanbul to keiv and the Chernobyl flights to your website

What I know is Business Class on Russian Airlines there are 2 seats per row as on e.g.g Lufthansa have 3 normal seats in Business

Every Airbus seems to have that engine buzz. It gets pretty loud.😮

Yeah i heard that and i knew Rossiya had been merged into Aeroflot along with other regional state owned airlines to make them more stable (not so long ago Aeroflot was forced by the the government to spin off it's regional airlines). Just looks a bit odd having blue seats that's all

So around 250 €? Good price for such a good flight. On Finnair for that price all I get is a knee in the groin.

This is an international flight. It doesn't matter that it's short haul, business class is configured differently than domestic business would. For comparisons, look at cross Atlantic business on European carriers. Intra-european is really a domestic market now.

I flew domestic on Rossiya. Same business class set up, same food and drink options. The flight was only 3 hrs long, which felt too short given the excellent service. Much better than intra-european business class on Iberia/Tap/Lufthansa/Finnair, etc. They just put you in an economy seat with the middle seat blocked.
