I remember back in the day when I used to play on my friend's account, he had no patience for fishing and skining/leatherworking. So whenever he couldn't play, he send me a message that I can log in and honestly I've never played wow for combat, bosses or any of this stuff. I've always searched for people from different corners of the world, chat with them from morning 'till sunset and slowly leveled up his professions. To this day I remember this one Polish guy, wanting me to go to a raid with him and his guild so I could get the Core Armor Kit pattern. I had no clue how to combat worked nor did I even know what to do at raids... so I was always behind everyone, slowly picking up leftover stuff and skinned whatever I could. And even after tens of raids it never dropped. I went on a absolute mad spree of a obtaining all of the possible patterns and never could do it, but now when the classic was released I can fulfill my dream

Yeah dud you will have a hell of a reality shock when you reach max. Crafting was never relevant in live game. China Farmers kill all the Gold makeing with profesions. The only way to get Gold is run Dungeons over & over endlessly. And when you made enough you can buy yourself into a guild. Ofc they still wont give you loot come raid day. Classic is one thing on paper and on private servers. But the reality was hell a diffrent

One of the tough things about crafting professions is you're always running into roadblocks where you need to either stop leveling and grind out mats from lower level content or buy mats from other players, which turns it into a gold sink and/or a time sink. It's not a bad strategy to just go with two gathering profs (herb/skin) and sell everything until you get to max and then stockpile a good amount of mats and switch to one or more crafting professions. At top level gathering the stuff you need to power level a crafting profession is a lot easier and faster and relatively cheaper.

Didn't even realize that I have been watching this (and part 1) for about 1 hour. Great content and I don't mind the length, I would rather sit here for 1 hour and get the in-depth info then sit here for 20 minutes and only get the surface level stuff. Picking your professions can be just as important as what class/race you pick, as it takes a long time to level and would be a waste to switch them around, so I want to be sure what I am picking, now that the classic release is so close. I've decided on enchanting + tailoring on my mage (had these in mind before the video, but this has just confirmed it) then if I level up a second character it would most likely be a rouge, and I would pick up engineering on that one.

First aid was really handy for mana users like Paladins etc. As mana regeneration was much slower, requiring you to drink etc. So preserving mana was more important. Using a bandage meant you could save your mana for more important spells. I used to use bandages a lot on my pally between fights to save me from having to drink. I like engineering on my hunter as they can make their own guns and bullets. Carry mats on you when in dungeons and you can quickly make ammo for yourself and others, as well as provide a repair bot for the group. There's also one classic quest that requires high explosives, so you could sell them in the AH. You can level your cooking up by making spiced bread right off the bat up to level 40 if you don't mind spending a few silver on mats. The best method for leveling cooking and fishing is to fish certain zones up to a level, cook the fish, then move on to a higher level zone with the next level fish etc... it's not really THAT hard once you know where to go. I used to level fishing while I waited for the ferry to someplace or when waiting for a dungeon or raid group of just chatting in guild, don't ever just stand around doing nothing, and that goes for the modern game. If you're just chatting, find a dock and start fishing while you chat. A few fish here, a few fish there really adds up over time. I never had a problem maxing out my fishing on all my toons.

Something that might be worth considering. Early on, like the first bit of phase one, some professions might be much better money makers then you would expect. For example, early wands tend to be really hard to get on the alliance side, and early wands are pretty crucial to leveling in the early game for early clothies. So that might be something to consider for early gold. Either when choosing your profession or getting your bank alt started up. (Bank alts of level 5 and higher can learn skills, level 1 enchanting can dust everything in the game). It kind of goes outside the "this formula for most consistent gold" and has some risk, but may be of value. Tailoring/enchanting is an old standby. It's what you take when you want the most return for the least math. Essence and dust is always an attractive product because it has no vendor price, and thus, has no auction house fee. It's tempting to just turn everything into a green or blue, dust it, then post it. You'll make money, but it's not best practice. Tailoring has bottlenecks where people tend to get frustrated. Mageweave is one if memory serves and people are willing to pay a lot more for the raw cloth then enchanters will pay for the dust and essence. Your basically looking for places where people are trying to buy skill ups. Easiest way to do this is to eyeball cloth prices on the AH, and compare them to how much it takes to get dust and how much that's going for. Of course you can get a lot more detail oriented with this, I find there is a law of diminishing returns but some people love playing with spreadsheets. This is a alternate money idea for gatherers. I've seen it in Vanilla and have no idea how well it worked, but I'm gonna throw it out there because I love talking about classic. Selling profession kits. Basically grab a profession leveling guide, gather everything you need to get to a certain point, and sell that. Kind of like one of those "we'll send you the ingredients, you cook the meals" kind of thing. It wasn't uncommon to see people doing this back in the day. If your particularly ambitious and good at farming you might find it worth your while. Back then the idea of buying whole kits wasn't really a thing, but it may be something worth considering if you like that sort of thing.

Your videos are pure ASMR. Given, your voice sounds like you're always out of breath, but I would be too, if I had to cram so much information into a video

Another great video! I think if I play classic (I want to, but probably shouldn't just due to the time it would take) I'd go for a warrior and either one of the weaponsmith specializations, or a couple gathering professions to make money. It's a little less time consuming to do something like mining/skinning or herbalism/skinning while leveling up, and then drop one gathering profession at 60 to go for a craft supported by the other gathering profession. Especially if you're just stockpiling ore/herbs/leather for your future craft, and selling the other bunch of materials. Enchanting being its own thing also makes it good to pair up with a gathering profession. Sell gathering materials on the AH, buy cheap green gear on the AH with your profits, and use that to level up your enchanting if you don't want to be a tailor, or you're doing it on a non-cloth class.

I still used First Aid in MoP like in every PvP fight, I really don't see why they could not just have left it in. You could also get more out of your videos if you put time stamps into the description for ease of access, as possibly I or someone else may want to come back to this. Well thank you anyways, this will be useful and I respect the time you put into this.

I used to play circa 2007 - 2009 and then again in 2014 for a few months. Yeah, it's been a while. I might start playing again soon, so this video helped. When I was a noob, I was too indecisive - I tried skinning and leatherworking, after a month, unlearned it and did herbalism and alchemy, etc. Now, I'd rather do a double gather for my first character just so that I can get me some shiny gold! (I'm sure that a double gather is a no-brainer for many, but again... I was a noob.) Thanks for making this video!

Great job Mad. Love your vids. One thing to point out though. Eachanting is a Huge money sink. Probably even bigger than Engeneering. When you level tailoring all the items you craft (especially at the start of a server) you sell Very well. When you diss it people wont care about any enchants except the final tier ones. So you will be spending your tailoring items for disenchanting and then you'll be enchanting stuff for no (or almost no) cost untill you get to the best enchants. On your first character you can forget about making money with you profs by leveling if you pick enchanting.

Mage with Tailoring and Skinning, with an enchanter bank alt to disenchant and stockpile shards. After reaching 60 and a comfortable amount of gold, drop Skinning for Enchanting. All the minor professions of course, buff foods always sell well to lazy raiders and a bank full of Winter Squid caught in the winter will make you Big Bucks the following summer.

I loved this series. I played on the tail end like the last 6 months or so of Vanilla and I find I often miss it and feel very nostalgic for it even moreso after the Cata world changes. These bring back some fantastic memories. My shaman was LW/Skinning back in the day, he still is to this day but it doesn't feel as...immersive as it used to. I might do Tailoring/Enchanting but I don't know if I want to recreate the experience with Shaman, play a Druid or what class I want to jump into. These days I have a Hunter Enchanter/Tailor and I often get looked at like I'm insane for it xD

I know you've mentioned your voice being monotone before, as a bad thing. But I suspect the opposite is true. That the fact that you sound so calm and relaxed is really re-assuring for newbies. "Hey. Lets take it slow and I'll help you out. No Pressure. We'll get there in your own time."

Engi is so amazing for hunters. Crafted guns and ammo, the goblin jumper cables to save a run back for the whole group after Feign Death, the bombs to stun something in your dead zone so you can get range again. And the Gadgetzan port to get to the neutral AH, parachute cloak for when it fails (and you can fire while in the air, say from the cliff in Arathi), speed boots to escape pretty much anything. Water breathing. And the fact most of the gear is cloth doesn't matter as much because there is no Mastery benefit to lose out on, just some armor (also less of an issue for hunters who stay at range). Trinkets are very hard to come by early game, too, so those mediocre engi trinkets are better than most non-engi players will have leveling up. I think I might even love engi more on my Classic hunter than my retail one. :D Can't wait!
