I miss my childhood in Mamprobi, we used to work for a bread baker, most of the neighborhood kids our job is to clean the leaves and grease it, mostly to be paid a loaf of bread it was really a fun job all the neighborhood kids love doing. It started all the way in Jamestown and now it's been done across Regions in Ghana 🇬🇭

I use the eat baami blodo growing up in La, Abormi. There's another leaf called aluguntugui from the soar sop leaf and that one too was so delicious and the smell was nice. I don't know why nowadays all the good stuff we use to enjoyed have been replace by artificial stuff. nice to see that my people still kept the tradition going.

Because we think that is a sign of progress. In my village we are experiencing a dry spell and yet people don't want to grow drought resistant crops like sorghum because they are considered old fashioned 🤦🏾‍♀️. They would rather starve and wait for free relief maize from the government. Smh.

Supermarket bread always have additives where I live & even most of the Bakeries as well. Wholesome to see how the family (I presume they are family members) are working together & the business has been thriving for so long, it means they have a quality product, may God continue to bless their work/bakery ✨🙌🏼💞🫶🏼✨❣️

What are hand gloves made of? Are they made of natural substances? I can understand facemask. The hands can just be regularly washed and sanitised with herbs or edible sanitiser. That been said, a well sanitised, masked staff of "regular" bread, will not make the bread as healthy, as bread baked on medicinal leaves. There's also the heat factor. How do you expect any suspect harmful bacteria or microbe to survive in that heat?! That isn't electric oven. That is CLAY oven fired with untreated wood and medical leaves...no better disinfectant/purifier than that. The more earthy a food process is, the healthier and safer it is. As long as basic personal and kitchen hygiene is observed and maintained, that all that is necessary. People who have been in food business for as long as these folks, will not take any chances with hygiene -- even if they don't look it.

You channel came up as recommendation today (Thurs. 3 Feb 2022). I want to learn more about 🇬🇭 & African culture I was denied in British schools. I love bread and this looks so delicious. I love the 100+ year story about how it all started and the health benefits from using the leaves

Hello Angela 👋 I welcome on board, and thanks for watching ❤✌️ so basically this bread 🍞 bakery is in Ghana 🇬🇭 (James town) and they use leaves in their bakings. Very healthy and the taste is absolutely delicious 😋🤩 and heavy as well.. so as said in the video it a generational thing and they have held till now. And most of the comments I received really testify that people really know them and they have authentic bread in the market.... I have other videos about Ghana local dishes that you'll like. THANK YOU 😊

Nostalgic. Used to bake with mum at Laterbiokoshie but never clicked that this was happening in Jamestown next door all those years. Thanks for the video. Will be in Ghana next February and trust me, I will visit 1 in town. Baa mi brodo
