There are many kinds of ketchup though. From the extra low tier thats basically just starch. I would consider Heinz to be somewhere in the middle. The premium ones actually taste good. My journey in better tasting ketchups began with the McDonalds one .. for some reason they used to sell it in bottles here . its actually less sweet than other mild ketchups so it was interesting to try it with non McD food. When they stopped selling it, I started to buy BIO ketchup with brown sugar and its amazing. Recently I imported some Volkswagen ketchup and its like the best thing to accompany a hot dog or Wurst. It tastes like a curry ketchup (standard german flavor) but the curry flavor is mild. I mean .. volkswagen employees put it on their Volkswagen made wursts ( sounds like a joke ,is a real thing though ) so it must be good :D Even after mentioning all of that .. some kind of tomato sugo would be a better dip for this probably.

These look delicious. I bet they’d be even better if you added some fresh herbs in between the cheese (tarragon, dill, basil, chives, even parsley). I add fresh herbs when I make grilled cheese and it really is such an easy and inexpensive way to enhance the flavor. You could even experiment with using cream cheese instead of mayo on the inside of the bread… jalapeño or onion & chive cream cheese comes to mind! So many different ideas from one simple recipe and I love that.

true, misto quente is just a ham and cheese sandwich, heated/toasted till the cheese melts, but it's not dipped in that egg mixture, as far as i know:) Literally had that this morning.
Now.... those look extremely great!! I am gonna make some right now!!

My smile dropped the moment I saw that ketchup 😅 To each their own though, those "sandwiches" look amazing! My fave ham to use is the Boar's Head brand's "Bold Peppenero Garlic" ham, as thinly sliced as the deli can get it and bunched up on the bread.

I'm old now, but at first I thought of showing the recipe to my mother but I preferred to surprise her with a small detail, she really likes this type of sandwich.
You were saying it “totally wrong” but is was super cute!! Try with wholewheat bread and it is very tasty. Thanks for the idea. 🤩
Ingredients (for 1): 2 slices of bread Butter 2 slices Gouda cheese Wafer thin ham 1 large egg 60ml milk Salt Butter for frying 1) Cut the crusts off the bread slices and spread butter over one of the slices. 2) Add a slice of Gouda cheese and some wafer thin ham. 3) Add another slice of Gouda cheese, then place the other slice of bread on top. 4) Slice the sandwich into 3 batons. 5) Whisk together the egg, milk and salt until combined. 6) Coat the batons in the mix. 7) Melt some butter in a pan and toast the batons until golden brown on each side. 8) Enjoy!

I'll never understand people that cut the borders of bread, it's not toxic and you can eat it without concern.
@14bqdonk
7 ай бұрын
same I used to think the same, but when I done it I understand. Some people cut the borders not because it's toxic, but just want to remove the harder part(even though it is not rrally that hard). When biting it feels much softer and melt into the mouth without the borders
@sevenpenceLOLZ
