Wow - that's a hell of an over, pacy, accurate and with movement - well seen out. Love the multiple camera angles as well - this is really high quality footage Gareth! Bad luck on the little rush of blood to the head. Totally agree on your comment on Russell's innings - power isnt everything (said as someone who never had that quality) - the number of times at this level where I've seen people who work the ball into the gaps fifty/ton up far exceeds those crazy swashbuckling innings - its consistent, and lower risk, and anyone who can play like that is a foundation around which a team can build.

Amazing knock from Russ, last week my brother got 74 from 115 balls and there was only 2 fours in that innings, only need one to anchor the innings and another one to hit, them 2 batsman batting together is the key to a good win, well batted on your behalf too Gareth

Really enjoyed your innings Gareth. Some of your stroke play was absolutely class. Your bat speed and balance have definitely improved which would suggest that your bat is perfect for you. Always focus on your shape when playing a shot and refrain from using too much bottom hand. Love your videos and all the content. Keep rocking.

Brilliant, favourite moment was explaining its not about 4s and 6s, its hanging in there, forming partnerships and just keeping the runs ticking over, i do worry what the T20s and short form games are drowning the young up and coming criketers in, its sad to see so much money being paid for the short form game, rather than test matches, the true test of the players and the game. I guess its forever evolving, i honestly cant wait until i have the opportunity to sit down and watch 5 straight days of gruelling cricket, where the best stand up!

You are right. Bludgeoning 4s and 6s may be a quicker way to accumulate but a nice sustained innings just taking runs as they come in 1s 2s and 3s and anchoring an innings is always more satisfying. Two instances when i was in good innings, my first evervtour of the isle of Wight, 105 run partnership, and i scored 1. Just kept my end battoned down my fellow batsman refused some runs off my bat an he was flailing away and ended up with 150. Second was my last game for one club where it was a cricket week, scored 29 going in at number 3 in a 72 run partnership. Took a shine to a left arm spinner. 2 boundaries, 1 three and the rest were twos.

You can see the batsmen Russel's mentality and influence on the team - after facing the fiery spell - his comment to you was just to survive, and the runs will come from elsewhere. He didn't put pressure by giving any advice on how to do that in terms of technique etc. That simple comment was positive and empowers the other batsmen to keep calm, and stay the course strategically.

Miss it ! I’m a Brit living in nyc for 15 years. there is an annual cricket match (10 years plus going) on shelter island (Hampton’s) each year which is a big fund raiser for local fire services . Two 20 overs games . All ex pats as you can imagine. Should add it to your list! Usually end of July or august.

Love the video Gareth, just a wee tip, when you are playing your cover drive, try and blind yourself with you gloves rather than pulling your hands across your face. It's just a small tip but it can improve your game drastically. Love the content, keep it up! 😄😄😄

Generally a bit quicker and more bounce... Standard varies depending on the league 👌

yes some of my friends just think smash it witch is good but sometimes u needa clam down take it down a notch and just hit the one`s and twos unless there bowling it short right into your line and u got the power thats where u hit fours and sixs
