Would You Ride The COVID Express?

The western world is in panic at the invisible enemy out there, holidays are being cancelled and people are being forced to stay home in self quarantine. And so I thought it would be the perfect time to head off on holiday to the Caucasus and board the midnight train to Georgia. And then I realised that it's not just the west that is worried about the big Corona...Oh and I discovered an abandoned military base too. Random vlog time.

12:34 No bloody way that cant be one of those invalidka cars could it? For anyone interested in soviet cars this is a really damn rare car. These were specially made cars to be given out to people with physical disabilities (especially veterans) to help with their limited mobility. In that good condition that car looks to be in its basically a collectors item and Bald just stumbles across one. Stuff like this are why I love this channel honestly.

0:50 The "grass" is Sabz ( سبز) which is part of the Nowruz customs of the Persian New Year, beginning 20 March. The grass is brought inside the home to collect and absorb bad spirits/energy/luck/auras and the like and then it is taken out of the home on the 13th day. All part of the proto-Indo-European customs and rituals of the Caucasus region.

Wear wool shirts. Wear 1, air 1. Same with chonies. Its quite possible to travel for months out of a backpack. Pack dual purpose items, etc. I carry detergent strips and a dry bag called a Scrubba. Its got nubbies inside , and a clear window. Put a few shirts and undies in, some water, a few drops of a detergent and roll closed and buckle. Squeeze out air, and have fun with a wash/ workout. I roll it with my feet etc. Rinse, wring, and hang. Clean clothes. Or use a hotel room sink, many ways. Its a wonderful way to travel. No suitcase to worry about dragging etc. Much freedom to adventurize.

The plate of grass is actually for Nowruz celebration. Nowruz is an old Persian tradition which we celebrate on the first day of spring that begins our new year. We put wheat sprouts (the plate of grass) amongst other stuff which each represents different things like food, money, health, ... So because Azerbaijan used to be a part of Persian empire, they celebrate Nowruz too. The date of this video suggests that it was about 20 days before Nowruz, so they are preparing the celebration.

I don’t think any of us [knowingly] borrowed it from UK slang. Also, it started from “my dude” here in California - and “dude” is definitely not a British thing.

He took no precautions to stop him from getting it and he traveled where other people were not either. Considering that it has a high rate of infection it was bound to happen eventually. Many people are asymptomatic. He didn’t care if he caught it or not 🤷🏼‍♀️ Thankfully he was healthy enough to survive without major complications. However his lungs might be messed up for life. We don’t know the extent of it.

At 12:30, that little car's called the SMZ Cyclecar. The Soviet government issued them to disabled or injured people basically as wheelchairs, but they were basically full-on cars. If you were immobilized by an injury, and then recovered, the government took it back once you had recovered. Interesting little car!! Love your channel!

They were given out for free or at STEEP discounts to the disabled in the soviet era, "normal" people weren't even able to buy them. Now they're more or less collectors items because they haven't been made in ~25 years and weren't commercially available. My buddy had one imported to the US because he likes teeny tiny underpowered cars for some odd reason.
