Would You Pay €48,000 For This Property in Piedmont Italy?
This is the second property in the Piedmont Collection. I visited this property in Montemagno Italy in June of 2024. It's 110 square meters with 1.5 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a cellar. What do you think about it?

This is one of the nicest homes you have shown. No real view or garage. But, seems to be nice and you can park your motorcycle out of the weather. And a little garden area is a plus. I like it at a lower price. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your feedback. I think there was definitely room to negotiate on price. If I was interested I would offer 30,000 and hold firm. But I'm continuing my search.
Mike, welcome back & Happy Independence Day! So, I don’t like the roof sith at all … looks expensive to fix and no stunning views. However, the pied de terre aka balcony I loved and the garden, as well as the barrel vaulted ceilings were amazing esp if you remove all the plaster to expose the brick / stone work…you’re right-the rooms are small, however remove some non load bearing walls and then you’re cooking w gas. So nah. Not worth 48 euros. Also town looked empty ish. Could be the time of day (siesta) or season. Can’t wait til next week’s reveal! Ciao tutti 🇺🇸

The courtyard is wonderful but with all the fabulous views everywhere in Italy, a great view is a must for me. 😊

I agree completely. I need a view. I would prefer a view from the windows of each room, but a rooftop patio would make up for that. I think I'll have something you will like coming up this Friday.
Mike… We are in Colorado as well, up near Estes. Snowbird in Italy is our plan. Hi neighbor!!!😊

Howdy neighbor. The Estes area is beautiful. I spend many days riding through that area when I lived in the Front Range around Denver. When I get a place in Piemonte, we'll have to meet up in Italy.
I recommend you also visit the Romagna coast and its hills not far from the sea, there are some beautiful houses! and the weather is always beautiful! I live in Rimini and I'm very happy there! ❤
I forgot! Romagna is the land of motorcycles and the best riders in history! You won't regret it, we have panoramic roads where you can see the sea even from the hill, and with a 2-wheeler you can get around very well!
Great court yard. Could you please slow down your movements very hard to watch.

The courtyard was beautiful, but I need a view. And thanks for your feedback. You weren't the only one that said I was moving too fast. In my defense, I was really excited to be looking at properties and we were on very tight timeline, but duly noted. I'll slow down in future videos.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I want to retire in Italy with consideration to filing for dual citizenship which would be an advantage in property taxes. Please keep me posted! I think this home has great potential and the price is reasonable. You can live in it as you update each room.

Thanks. There are some great advantages to being a citizen or at least having permanent residence. For instance property taxes are at least 60% less (than for foreigners) from what I understand. I'll keep you posted on my journey. Good luck to you too.
Piemonte very good place, Langhe... Abruzzo, also good, look for a placed called Capestrano.

Thanks. I think Piemonte (Piedmont) is the place for me. Regarding Capestrano, I'm really tempted to pull out a quote from the movie Dumb and Dumber. I'll refrain though. I didn't make it there on my trip, but I rode within a few kilometers and that area is beautiful! But it's a little too far south for me to live. I want to be closer to Central Europe.
Looking at your crooked tree reminds me of the crooked trees in the northeast that were Native American way markers. There of course are fewer and fewer of them still standing but might your tree be a way marker? Great video. I am enjoying your search. Thanks for taking us along.

That's really interesting. I don't think I've ever heard of the idea of way markers but it makes perfect sense. It's hard to forget a unique tree. And the crooked tree here is definitely a unique tree, but it's kind of hidden in the woods. Might be hard for people to find. Thank you for sharing and thank you for your kind words.
My parents are living in a small town near Turin. I was there last year during may june, and they had very hot weather. We had to escape to the sea. And now they are having a lot of rain and thunderstorms. It's unbelievable.

The weather has been crazy. It's been raining and flooding. And the agriturismo I stayed at in the region said it can get up to 35 C (95 F). That's hot for me, but I'll likely be in Italy early spring and late fall for several years. I don't want to miss the summers in the Colorado mountains. It's the best time of year here.
There is a Dutch/Belgium couple who purchased a house in Piemonte. Follow them on KZread

This one has a lot to offer for the price but I noticed that the energy consumption cert isn’t available. Try to find something F or above if you can, and not G.

Thanks @CarolA.PhinneyEsq.-vs3fd I'll check into that. I've heard there are rebates and incentives available in parts of Italy when you make energy efficiency upgrades. Do you know anything about that?

Have you noticed weather differences from the Piedmont to Puglia? I have family who are builders in the Piedmont, which would help for me if we buy in Italy, but we thought the south would be warmer like Florida.
@aroundtheworldwithmike
13 күн бұрын
Absolutely! Italy is 800 miles from north to south. There's a huge difference between the weather and climate in Piedmont and Puglia. The regions in the south of Italy like Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria are really hot, but not like Florida. It's dry in the south of Italy unlike the extremely high humidity in Florida. The hot and dry climate in the south of Italy is why they don't have so many cheeses and meats but rather olive oil. Olive trees can live in a hot dry climate, but you can't grow feed for livestock as effectively in a hot dry climate as you can in a milder climate like in the north or Italy.

@@aroundtheworldwithmike Exactly - less humidity but warm temps was one of the reasons we liked the Salento region of Puglia. In fact, sight unseen (except for videos and pix) we just had a offer accepted for a place in Galatina. We fly over in a couple weeks to see it in person for the first time.

I was reading a few articles regarding the droughts in Sicily. These farmers there were saying their animals were litterly falling over due to dehydration with no ground water to drink .Wells dry. They were discussing they may have to slaughter all their flocks 💔😢

Really sad. And now they have Mt Etna erupting. Along with the distance, extreme heat, earthquakes and volcanic activity, drought was another reason why I didn't even consider Sicily.
Hi there 👋 I've been watching your videos just lately started seeing them anyway I'm from Olympia WA And I see you're in Colorado up in the mountains.. since you already live up in the mountains. Wouldn't you want to have a place in Italy near the Sea ? Like the Puglia region? Molise I don't know. It just seems like you would want a different experience than what you have already been living ...It seems to me that Piedmont would be like living in Colorado pretty much.😅 Why not beautiful warmer areas near the ocean😃✌️
@aroundtheworldwithmike

Thank you for watching. As you watch more of my videos you will see that I say many many times that I don't want to live in the Mountains of Italy because I live in the mountains of Colorado already. I also say many many times that I don't like the heat of southern Italy (Puglia). And Molise doesn't have good transportation connections and is much further from the rest of Central Europe. Likewise I've explained that I'm not a beach person. Look again at the Piemonte (Piedmont) region. It is not all mountains. In fact much of it is flat and agricultural. Nestled in this flat region is a stunning hill region very similar to parts of Tuscany. And trust me. After riding over 4,000 miles through 17 of the 20 Italian regions, there is no place in Italy even remotely similar to Colorado. It's a completely different wonderland to be experienced and I can't wait to do just that.

Pleasssssse stop panning toward yourself. We don't need to constantly look at you, we need to see the property as you go from room to room. It allows the viewers to see the true flow of the floorplan. Also, Whipping the camera around to look at you can make people dizzy from the spinning.
