I love these light-hearted debates you guys have. I always want to jump in and discuss with you, but unfortunately there are too many barriers (i.e. my computer screen, the fact that we live in different countries, and also the fact that this has been pre-recorded and you guys aren't actually having the conversation at the time that I'm watching it). To jump in late, though, if I could replace one body part with something else, I think that I wouldn't necessarily replace this, but I would have maybe some sort of retractable, foldable wing attachments for my shoulder blades. I've always wanted to fly. Not sure if that would even be possible, but if it was, I would do it.

To be fair, most Transhumanists talk about augmenting the human body with technology for the purpose of extending human life (possibly to infinite). Turning yourself into a pool noodle or becoming half golf cart is not really the kind of stuff transhumanism is about.

True, assuming the body is not connected to wifi there are still ways to shut it down from the outside. Not to mention any ways it could malfunction... and that it would wear down just like a human heart eventually. I don't think it's that far of a stretch to say that some would have some way of connecting from the outside... whether it be a GPS, a more accurate health app or what-not. It all depends on the circumstances, which are not defined so it is left to interpretation.

I am not denying the fact I fear change. I feel, as Link said, we are reaching a slippery slope. We as humans have done things for ourselves, but look what it has done to the things around us. I do not know if your beliefs involve factors like global warming/global climate change, but personally I believe in it. We may have done what was best in the present, but in the long run we are setting up our own demise. I respect your opinion, everyone has one, but I do not fully agree with it.
