McGinn, Tierney and Robertson are on a similar level to many England players. And personally I'd pick McTomminay over Jordan Henderson, who is past his best. I think Gilmour and Hickey in a couple of years time would be good enough for an England squad. Steve Clarke is, in my opinion a better manager than Southgate, tactically more astute

The Scotland 1st team can easily play in the Prem. But couldn't get into the England squad.

The Man Utd fan that couldn't think of a Scottish legend while standing opposite the statue was hilarious. It was obvious that some of the people questioned have no clue about Scottish football but, to be fare, most of the England fans questioned were more positive about Scotland than Scotland fans would be about England

Look, we might not admit it down here but you are a good team - emphasis on 'team'. I dont think any of your players would get in the England 11, but we have an embarrassment of riches yet Southgate persists with picking his same old undeserving favourites. We win games through pieces of individual brilliance, that's it. Fact is, it wouldn't surprise me for a second if you beat us on Tuesday, at the very least I expect you to give us a very good game.

Find it really difficult to take the Derby fan seriously when he said he wouldnt take any Scottish Prem players when they had the likes of Waghorn....

Great video as always, Sam! I’m a Rangers fan, and to be completely honestly - the vast majority of English fans (both national and premier league teams) view Scottish football with a certain level of contempt! “pub league”, “farmers league” etc etc. Both Celtic & Rangers are far bigger institutions than the the majority of teams in the EPL. No doubting Scotland is severely hampered by lack of capital and an SFA who continue to drag their heels. I think Robertson/Tierney get in the England team, McGinn gets in the squad 😊

Yes unless they are a special talent are not going to get picked up by big clubs. But teams struggling to stay in the Prem? I bet one of them could use a Porteous or Hendry. There is a lad in Italy plays for Genoa, Lewis Ferguson who I bet teams outside of the big clubs would love to grab. Scottish Premiership has some good players many of whom play for Scotland and have them playing their best football in decades.

@@joshsmith3598 Well, I myself don’t know much about the Scottish league aside from only Celtic and Rangers win. But I’d argue that if there was already players in the Premiership good enough for the Premier League or any other Big 5 league, they would already be playing there. Sure there may be a few players who are talented and maybe only stick in the Premiership out of loyalty but it’s also kind of like asking do you think any players in the bottom tiers of English Leagues are as good as the players in the Premier League. Going only of facts Premier League is currently ranked 1st while the Premiership is 17th and the overall level and skill play between all the clubs is drastic. Obviously there will be outliers but straight away I’d assume every club and almost every single player is better than every club and almost every single player in the Premiership. And yeah the clubs in the relegation battle may be closer to the level of the Premiership but not always. Last season Everton and Leicester were fighting for relegation and Leicester even got relegated and I believe Leicester is much better than every club in the Premiership. Even Leeds and Southampton in my opinion are better than most if not all the clubs in the Premiership.

@@joshsmith3598 Also I wasn’t even arguing that no player in the Premiership could play in the Premier League that’s a stupid claim but I do believe almost all the players in the Premier League are better than the ones in the Premiership. At the very least all the players in the Premier League work harder and have to go through more struggle and be more technical than every player in the Premiership. But the original comment saying England doesn’t know anything about football outside their country using Scotland as an example is not fair. Like I said before the Scottish League is ranked 17nth world wide and most of its viewership is from within Scotland itself. The Majority of people outside Scotland if not almost all of them will have little to 0 knowledge of the Premiership. Obviously when it comes to the bigger leagues England knows a lot about them. La Liga is very popular in England and pretty much always has been and the Bundesliga has also been pretty popular aswell. Ligue 1 and Serie A isn’t talked much about but we atleast know basic knowledge about them but probably the same amount of knowledge for Eredivisie.

Robertson and Tierney would get in the squad. i am English and i want Scotland to do well, like many other English fans. I remember dancing around my living room as an 8 year old when Archie Gemmill scored in the 1978 World Cup. It would be amazing to see the Tartan Army in Germany. I was in Germany in 2006 following England and met lots of Scots ( not just Rangers fans ) supporting England. Mon the Scots.

What is impressive is the Scots Squad are made up of INDIGENIOUS Britons with celtic-Anglo-saxon names and heritage! Where the England squad full of first gen immigrants with African names like Saka and Tomori. It is good to see a full squad of Native Britons doing so well. I am not Anti-immigrant because I am one but not to the UK, side note: I do not come from the UK or live there.

Robbie and teirney definitely. Mctominay could play over Henderson. Give hickey a couple of years and see where he ends up. Quite arrogant of them to say no scottish based player would play for epl team when a few have made the move these last few years and thrived.

Classic, the lad with a 'Union Flag' hat on says he wouldn't support Scotland. What a confused Nation England is, I can remember when they all used to wave that flag at England games, embarrassing.

None of our players would get in yet we outplayed England in the 0-0 draw and are now in the top league of the nations league as England languish in the second tier. If McGinn was English he’d be worth £100m. I’m yet to see any England midfielders have as big of an impact at international football as he does for Scotland. Robbo has been the best left back in the world for the past 4-5 years, Tierney is also probably better than Shaw. Patterson and Hickey are very exciting right backs already starting in the PL. Gilmour is still very young too and will likely get much more game time at Brighton next season.

Is it not embarrassing to be this delusional? One random Scottish player scores a goal and suddenly he's equal to Harry 30 goals a season Kane. We can use statistics, we can use previous results, we can use general opinion. All of them point to Scotland being overwhelming inferior. Scotland are ranked 36th based on their performances. England are ranked 5th. Because winning 2 qualifying games every 5 years isn't as impressive as you think it is. If McGinn was Scottish he would be worth 5 million, because nobody knows who he is and he has done nothing.

One correction, we have done 9 out of 9 once before, euro 2008 qualifying. We’ve never done 12 out of 12 before though, so a win against Georgia really would be historic for us

Most of the Scottish players aren't that good. They're either playing in the bottom 10 of the Prem, the championship or the SPL. Robertson without a doubt would get into the England squad, maybe Tierney if he's fit and on form but that's about it.

Saying that there's nobody in the Scottish Premiership that could play in the EPL just shows how ignorant English fans are. There's several SPL players who could play for mid-table/bottom half EPL teams and a few who could play with teams in the top half. Maybe not the top 3-4 teams, but easily could find a place in the league.

Interesting how many Scottish footballers and managers have won trophies playing for English teams over the years especially 60-70 and 80s . Also scottish fans are the best in the world .

i know you’re asking about the current squads and i’d say robertson would walk in no trouble, but in the past… loads. gemmil, law, strachan, buchan, mcqueen, dalglish, john robertson, souness, mcoist, macari, hansen, jordon, the list is long..

Robertson is obvious standout, as are their other fullbacks. Hickey is a good player, Patterson has shown great potential and Tierney’s decent, but second choice at The Arse. The issue is, player for Player, Robertson would be the only one guaranteed to start and get in the squad. I'm an Englishman of Scottish heritage, so I don’t dislike Scotland in any way shape or form. It's a good rivalry, but the vitriol is one-sided. I hope England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland qualify and are successful, but England first... Actually, a distant second behind West Ham. 🇬🇧⚒️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The greatest Scottish player on sheer talent alone? Jim Baxter. When fit and playing he was a sublime player. He tore England to shreds in 1967, England's first game after winning the WC at Wembley. Baxter led his Scotland team that went down to 10 men to a dominant 3-2 win. Law missed an open goal in that game and Scotland created a hatful of chances. They made that England team look anything but world champions. An England team that one change from 66' final team: Jimmy Greaves replaced Roger Hunt. Baxter unfortunately had a serious alcohol addiction and it ruined him. If not for that he would've been a superstar. He was that good.

No they don’t know anything about the Scottish league. And neither do rest of the continent. The difference between the leagues are huge. Rangers was beaten 7-1 by a piss poor Liverpool. A Liverpool that was struggling against teams in the bottom half of the table

Need subtitles in this video. Couldn't understand a single word from the Morris Dancers.

I do not understand the whole "Maybe it would have been a different result if Haaland had been kept on" mentality. Not only is he not a defender and would not have likely been back far enough to contribute much to stop either of those goals but in the 80 odd minutes he was playing for he only managed to scored through a penalty. Did not look like he was going to get one really for most of that game so I do not think it would have changed much if anything had he stayed on.

Such snobbery hahaha, honestly, Robbo and Tierney are two of the best full backs in the PL. McGinn could be playing top five, McGregor as well and Hickey's on City's transfer list. Scotland got twice the guts of England, our boys play like warriors.

Scotland here, I have noticed England fans are more supportive of us than we are of them when it comes to internationals. but think it’s mainly because they’re the team expected to win out of the home nations. In reality the idea of any real ‘rivalry’ between us is just media pish, from what I’ve seen we largely get on well and have a bit of banter Only thing I do think is real and you see it in this video is ignorance around the quality Scotland has in the league up here. Seen some of the worst football on TV when the bottom 10 in the EPL play each other, think players from Celtic and Rangers could easily walk into those teams

The England kid …. Would support Germany 🤦‍♂️ as a England/Celtic supporter…. Robertson tierney get in the England squad , most of the Celtic first 11 would hack it in the English prem weather that be from a club like spurs down to Luton … players such as vickers, Hateae,McGregor ,jota , Kyogo it’s also pointless asking anyone who doesn’t ever watch Scottish football ie Celtic who could make the grade if they’ve never even seen them really

Seen a few stuck up comments from English fans. English football, showing off their latest multi million import with their individualist style. British media, which is English media pumps 99% of revenue to the English game, Scotland gets the crumbs, we cant even get our national team on the TV but will get an England game. Not interested in the English game, we don't need to keep looking at them, we are a nation and can think for ourselves.

Mctominay clearly has a scottish background hence the Scottish name so he chooses to side with his heritage over his country of birth, players have the choice to do that! Saying that he should play in England because he is "English" is so ignorant, he was askinh if he was a good player not where he was born.

I reckon scotland and england will be in the finals and IT WILL BE MASSIVE, I'll definately take a bus up to my sisters house just to support scotland in my birth city (aberdeen)

I mean, I am half Scottish and live down on the south coast so I would say that if England didn’t qualify I would definitely support Scotland but either way I would support both but I just prefer Scotland as you can never predict what will happen with them 😂

That's because they have no interest in a Mickey mouse league, won by one of two teams every year .and I live in Inverness .

Scotland v England is a great rivalry, I dont support England, and I hope that goes the other way too. BTW McTominay, Robertson, McGinn, Tierney, McGregor all walk into the English team.

Yep, don’t hate Scotland, but would never support them.

I think Tierney and Robbo would make the England squad but England are probably the best team in the world right now so hardly surprising they wouldn't take others. Hickey, McGinn, McGregor would get in most international squads.

Robbo for sure, i hate him but he's a good player, also as a baggies fan, id love Clarkey as manager and back on the day Dorrons and Morrison were great

I'm English of Scottish parents I support England and if they play Scotland I want England to win. However, other than that I support Scotland. Kilmarnock are my second team Wolves born and bred

You are not correct that it is the first qualification campaign where we have won 3 games in a row. We did it for Euro 2008 which included a 1-0 over France, and many times before that!
