I’ve used the case and wallet for about a year. No issues with the magnets and ois

Good review. I agree that system is a little overpriced. However, the build quality is top notch. I’ve used the system for a little over 1.5 months and am very impressed with how simple and intuitive it is to use. The accessories just work and feel natural in movement. No awkward pop or twisting motion. I did notice that your tripod is different than the one I received. I think yours is shorter where the legs alight flat. Don’t know why. One thing that I noticed with the tripod and case is that it’s heavy. Noticeably so. I was also hoping you’d review the accessories a little bit more in-depth because there are a bunch more than the tripod/wallet/motorcycle mount. There is the wall mount, creator kit, car mount, charging mount, and universal bar mount. I really think that if you are looking for a total system that is rock solid in quality and design, there’s no better phone case/system. Btw, could you guys do some research into how harmful powerful magnets are to the phone? I’d be interested to know… Thanks- keep up the great reviews!

Regarding strong magnets - I made a DIY system with very strong magnets embedded in a relatively sturdy case for my iphone X years ago. Longer term, I think the magnets may permanently screw up the compass in the phone and possibly the gyros as well - which in turn affects the functioning of map applications. The GPS will work ok in the car, but if you are using walking directions, because you are moving slowly I think the map software relies on the compass and maybe gyros to get orientation correct and track movement on the map. Knowing I've got strong magnets in the case, naturally I popped the phone out of the case to use for walking directions so the compass isn't affected, but the map would still go haywire, drifting and spinning. This is speculation on my part, something else may have been responsible for the malfunctioning, but I won't use strong magnets on a new phone now. The other thing I found is that some wireless chargers refused to work reliably with my strong magnet case (they worked before I embedded the magnets), but other chargers didn't have an issue

There’s a better way of watching in landscape with the wallet accessory than just tipping over on its side like you illustrated. Instead, twist the wallet case on the back of the iPhone (which still aligns with the magnets) so that the stand “stands up” and the iPhone is horizontal. This way, you can adjust the viewing angles for your liking.

You got me real skeptical w the whole magnet thing. I’m glad you brought it up but I would love to have that addressed somehow before pulling the trigger on these products

Letterkenny might not agree with that view on Caesars lol fun stuff folks! I have to say Mous has my favorite combo for wallet/case in the MagSafe Compatible Backflip Wallet. It’s more secure than just a magnetic wallet and I can take my cases phone in and out of it quickly to carry it or not. For me it’s the perfect setup. I chose the Mous case based on your channel reviews and they just released the wallet at the time I ordered my case so it was a super nice surprise and I can’t see myself using any other case.

Question for you. My family has had the Loopy case for several years. We are upgrading our phones. Should we stick with the Loopy or go to the Mous or something else. Thanks so much for your help.

The mobile tripod is the best accessory I have ever purchased for my iPhone. It’s sturdy, easy to deploy and tuck away…I adore this thing. Paired with the loop case, it’s really sturdy. Although the apple silicone case works just fine with it too. Going caseless? No bueno.

Ok question. I literally just put the Peak Design Mobile Car Mount Wireless Charging with SlimLink in my shopping cart as I’ve had a REALLY hard time finding a charging MagSafe mount for my car. Vent clips don’t work with my car but also the Spiegel one doesn’t work because its footprint is too big. (Pre- wireless charging i had a caw car magnetic mount for years that worked great that I had mounted in the tiny amount of smooth surface i have available to me in my car because the base was a very small circle). I think the peak design one might actually be able to be mounted in my car because the mounting plate looks relatively small. Their site says can be used with the case you’re reviewing here or any MagSafe cases. Have you tried a regular MagSafe case with the charging car mount? Good? Bad? Thanks!

You should do a video comparison of peak design and magbak. Which is better? I have the magbak for pixel 6 pro with the wallet and just bought the peak design magnetic tripod and car mount

How is the case compared to mous or casetify? Drop test wise.

One thing I noticed with magnetic based mounts on older phones is that gps didn't understand which way I was going. I wonder if strong magnets messes with that still.

I have thinner fingers so the loop case has actually felt decent for me. Can't say I use it all the time but it's nice having the option. Shame that according to your test the wallet might sit weaker compared to a nin loop. I'm eager to try out the other accessories though

I have a lot of Peak Design camera products, so I was very curious about this system. Because I am extremely pleased with my cheap Casekoo phone case, I am going to pass on the PD system. Thanks for this and all your reviews.👍

Compared to the price apple charges for their “leather” case this ED case is great. I’ve gone through 2 apple cases that the leather just peals off if it even brushes up against stuff.

I love my case. I practically leave my tripod on at all time. The ecosystem is amazing and I use the slim wallet, car mount, tripod, and out front bike mount. No issues with the magnets. I actually told myself that I’ll never buy another phone case brand ever after testing for one week.

I’ve had the case and bicycle mount for a few months and find them to be excellent. I also use a MagSafe desk stand and Anker MagSafe charger effortlessly.

Any issues so far? I’ve had the mount on my bike for a year and it’s great. I’ve been using PD universal mount stuck to a case since they didn’t make one for my iPhone XS. I just got a iPhone 15 Pro Max and now I am a bit concerned.

Great review. I didn't realize the magnets can be seen out the front. On the S21 Ultra case the Peak Design case makes the S-Pen (stock version) unusable. The Mobile Tripod is great though.

That magnet is scary powerful if you can see it on the front of the iPhone screen. 😮Great video as always. I really look forward to your videos. You guys are so entertaining. 👍🏻

Do you have any recs on which screen protector to use with this case? I have a flolab and it doesn't sit flush but I like this peak design case.

Belkin tempest glass work well with this case

Ended up getting the case, wallet, and tripod. Was totally disappointed my screen protector didn’t fit so ended up throwing the case to the side. The wallet and tripod, however, are used everyday. I have the Caudabe sheath width MagSafe on and the wallet stays on just fine with no issues. Same with the tripod. I’ve done tests of putting my phone in landscape mode and holding the tripod like a grip then swinging it back/forth and side/side. No problems with with my phone falling off. PD’s camera gear is really where they shine. Maybe the next version of phone accessories will address the screen protector issue. Until then, I’ll stick with Caudabe.

Great great video! So useful to be told honest opinions without sponsorship. Hey does the mobile tripod/kickstand work directly with the iPhone without the case? And if so, how secure is it? The PD website seems to imply it will attach magnetically without the PD case fine.

The tripod shown in the review is actually a preproduction model! The version for final production has a flat back with a silicone/rubbery friction pad instead of the square shaped portion that fits in the slimlink. I own one so I was surprised it was so different than the ones shown in reviews!

@@patrickpaganini It works fine directly on the iPhone. The silicone pad works as a friction substitute to the fabric of the case on the iPhone’s smooth glass back. However, as with anything that does not have a physical securing mechanism, I would be careful using the stand in its “hand grip” mode. It’s definitely plenty strong enough to use as a tripod or stand for sure!

Hey guys. Awesome review. I would be interested in the Magbak review too! I have a case + wallet combo and its been great however I’m now concerned over the strength of the magnets on here too since they’re very strong! Also, theres a tidbit about the wallet that says you can get additional angles by using your cards as support, but I think thats more of a gimmick since I my phone would usually slide off. Thanks!

We have the exact same issue with using the wallet as a stand. Doesn’t work well at all. That is one thing Magbak could improve on. Also I get pop ups about the string magnets affecting the phone. But over all I love the magnetic case.

I have the case and get my wallet tomorrow. Absolutely love the case. I have the loop case and really enjoy it. People already complain that wallet accessories don’t stick on the iPhone that well and apple doesn’t want to use strong magnets? Makes no sense. If I’m carrying my ID and credit cards there better be strong magnets so it doesn’t fall off.

Hi an engennier here! The battery acumulates energy due a chemical reaction and a incerted electrical current. New iphones like 15 pro max uses Lithium baterries and can handle 4.441 mAh, that amount of current has no effect from the magnetic field of a case or the magsafe. beacuse both magnitudes are just to low. Also the magnets will never create an interfering current because it's an static magnetic field. search for Faraday's law. Therefore it will be no issue at all with the case or any magsafe device in general.

Since apple is against strong magnets does that mean the Magbak case is bad for an iphone also?

Thank you for this informative video. Now I am not changing my Apple Silicone case for my iPhone. I am so satisfied with the color and the feels I have when I am holding my Phone. I am not so worried on its durability because I barely drop my Phone. Although I like the leather case, and a clear case so I can put a photo on the back of my phone.

Guys you're killing me with setting the phone in landscape with the wallet. Just reattach the phone sideways on the wallet. Since the magnets are square you can rotate 90 degrees.

Yeah, That’s the first thing that came to mind, that and Phone Rebel’s one (which is a strong one too). I reached out to Phone Rebel and they told me that their engineers had that concern in mind when they built the case and they guarantee it won’t negatively affect the phone or the camera. I think Mous with their experience did take that into consideration also. come to think of it! IIRC a couple of years ago I also reached out to Mous about the magnets and if they would interfere with the OIS camera system and I think they told me that it won’t affect it. What’s your take @MobileReviewsEh?
