Most people don't know who general lee was as it Irrelevant history in the uk as American civil war isn't important and American history isnt learnt at school in UK. We have so much own history then there ancient history(Roman,Egypt,Greeks etc) so 99% of people wouldn't know who he was

I had the first PS1 Dukes of Hazzard game as a kid. I tried replaying it recently, it does NOT hold up. At all lol. But great for some nostalgia trips.

I dont get IT. In the Sequenz where the Cops Chase u. At 12:48, you step ON the paddle for füll Speed. But you all ready driving. But in the Sequenz you can se His foot doesent even Touch the paddle before. So, why ist the Car even driving bevor he Put the paddle to the metal? This doesent make any sense. Problematic flag, problematic name for the car, problematic nickname for the mechanic, problematic backstory (they used those compound bows because they were convicted felons and couldn't touch guns (and how Uncle Jesse escaped that was anyone's guess) though I won't say problematically sexist since Daisy controlled her own destiny, but Barbra Bach never liked what she had to wear. "...someday the Lord might get 'em but the law never will..." or maybe just the gods of game physics.

The law in Hazzard County was corrupt, as Boss Hogg was always trying to do something dirty and underhanded to enrich himself. A lot of the laws the Dukes broke were in defiance of Hogg's schemes and usually to help others or protect their family. The Dukes rarely got arrested because either Hogg's schemes fell apart or they really had nothing concrete to charge them with. The series was full of contrivances that you have to experience to understand. Basically, it was all about what kinda shenanigans would lead the characters into their next jump in the General. Also, the Confederate Flag: while viewed as strictly racist today, back then southerners used it to mean "Southern Pride". Take from that what you will on what that means, but its inclusion on a piece of property wasn't inherently an indication that the owners were racists or approved of slavery. It was just a symbol to show pride in their heritage as far as they were concerned. The Dukes did nothing to show they were against anyone. Except Boss Hogg.

No, it's the opposite. It WAS inherently racist because the flag itself and everything it stands for is inherently racist. Southern pride in WHAT exactly? Finish the thought, and you'll have your answer. At the very least, that flag was used to strike fear in the hearts of Black ppl, and they still flew it with "pride." So yes, any way you cut it, it WAS racist, both inherently and overtly/intentionly
