Had an altercation with a dude that messed with my little brother back in the day. Guy wouldn't leave me tf alone after I told him who I was, and to go away. Its true, I didn't feel anger, anxiety, or anything. Just calm ready focus for what was to come.

Yes, any activity can engender that. When you start a task and look up 5 minutes later to find that hours have passed then you've spent it in Flow.

@@arkenhemnall6224 always have. For me it requires a lot of focus and an attention span far beyond mine. Just want to get things finished by the end so never really progressed in ability over 26yrs. Can absent mindly fiddle with kits and build/convert or just go oooh would that look good on that if I could force it to fit etc for hours with no actual progress. So that can be nice, until I realise how I've half assembled 1 guy in 3 hours.

What stresses you out about it? Is there anything that could reduce it? I find it extremely relaxing, therapeutic even. So much so that I managed to give up smoking by painting when I had the urge to light up.

I think keep it simple and as neat as you can to begin with. So clearly define the areas you're painting with a flat colour (sometimes a challenge as some minis are every busy) and you'll gradually and naturally over time start to do techniques and ways of painting that would rightly be daunting at this time (assuming you're only really starting out). So take your time, thin your paints, be as neat as you can manage and try to be consistent from model to model. Just seeing competently done minis as an army, gang etc that all look coherent is the sort of thing to give you the boost you need to move to the next step. Good luck, hope that helped... 👍🏻

@@thehat4244 I get stressed out by a lot of simple things in general. Part of it is I do struggle to focus and concentrate. It's not something where I can switch off but need to hyper focus. Then I only ever get round to painting when I have a deadline so that puts on the pressure. I can enjoy it in short 20min bursts every now and then if I'm painting something just because it looks cool but that's about it.

You're a Lancashire guy who's in Merseyside but say it doesn't exist. You sound like your from Southport my hometown. Southport is an oxymoron as it is not South nor a port. Don't play music and study. It's been proved scientifically that it is detrimental. The best backing track for serious study is silence. If you absolutely must have music make sure it is soft and non-structured.

I swear several months ago I heard a video from this channel promise to separate the funny fandom drama stories from the self-help rambling. Maybe somebody out there is really benefiting from that content and I'm happy for them if that's the case, but I guess I'm not the audience for it. Gonna stop clicking these videos anymore if they're reverting to that style.
