Hazael was the Wind Jehu was the Earthquake Elisha the Fire but Adonai was not in them. Then Elijah hears what he could not hear because the sound was so feint that he he did not notice it. A still small voice. It is imperative that we not miss the parallel of the very last verses of this chapter Rebekah. Because from the beginning of the section there is a contrast between loud noisemakers and the quiet. The prophets of Baal cried loudly but Elijah quietly prays and Fire from heaven consumes the sacrifice. Then after the destruction of the false prophets he hides himself in a cave and seeks death from Adonai. Because he sees none who love the God of Israel. Then the contrast again. The Wind the Earthquake and Fire, but Adonai is not in these but God is in the Still Small Voice of 7000 Israeli believers within the 2 million population of Israel, the Remnant. There is no still small voice of the Holy Spirit speaking to us today, there is the leading of the Holy Spirit and His work of illumination of what has been written. The still small voice was and is the believers of Israel within the nation. And it is a joy unspeakable for me to witness the Israeli believers today because Yeshua said “blessed are those that do not see but believe.” A confirmation of the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. There will be prophecy again with the Two Witnesses who are two future Jewish men who will be elevated by God to the office of prophet and by the 144 thousand Jewish evangelists in the age of the day of the Lord when Israel as a whole will be purified, and all Israel will be saved. “And as many as shall walk by this rule, peace be upon them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:16‬ ‭ASV‬‬

Yeshua will not return again until the Jews as a nation ask him to return Hosea 5:15. In Hosea 6, there is a three day prayer vigil that the leaders will lead the Jews in prayer who have escaped Antichrist and are in Bozra. They will confess Isaiah 53 and pray psalms 79-80 upon which Yeshua will come to them. The sin of Hosea 5:15 is the national rejection of the Messiahship of Yeshua based upon demon possession recorded in Matthew 12, the unpardonable sin. The key phrase Yeshua keeps using in the context of the unpardonable sin was “this generation.” Because of that event, Yeshua does three things. (1) He institutes a policy of silence. No longer are the disciples aloud to proclaim him as the Jewish messiah. (2) Yeshua no longer heals the masses but only if one exercises personal faith. (3) Yeshua now will only teach in parabolic form. The disciples ask him why and he tells them it is to disguise the truth from the nation of Israel. Yeshua will now teach his disciples the meanings of the kingdom parables in order for them to spread the truth after his departure. Again, the judgement was unpardonable but for only the nation and not for individual Jews who rejected him like Paul. Paul and scores of others who did not believe later did and as individuals the unpardonable sin was forgiven. And the judgement was restricted to only the generation of Israel of the first century. By the time that the book of Hebrews was written, the prophecy of the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple was near which explains the warnings of Hebrews. They are warned of physical punishment namely the A.D. 70 destruction and not warned of loss of spiritual salvation. Israel twice in her history committed a sin that crossed the line of no return when physical punishment and not spiritual loss of salvation was inevitable, at kadesh barnea resulting in the 40 years wandering, and with Manessah who repented but too late. The people had to go into Babylon. The unpardonable sin of Matthew 12 is the singular sin committed by Israel that caused Adonai to return to his place at the right hand of the Father in Hosea 5:15. Shalom Romans 15:27
