Amazing video and an amazing young angler who completely understands the essence of real fishing. ESP really are a step up from the rest. All these over stocked lakes rammed with numpties who have only ever sat behind a bank of rods and alarms are my idea of hell.

I left the lake’s alone in the mid 90s, since 2000 I’ve only fished the rivers for carp n pike out of the tinnie I had made.

@@teotriggs8941 Alan is a top top carp angler, i remember when he went to fish a park lake in Liverpool and on his first cast he caught a twenty from right under the local anglers noses.

Free line worm a forgotten art. Caught the best fish of my life aged 17 on worm in 1994

Its actually not that difficult, it just takes effort and homework. If youre prepared to drive the miles and not catch the biguns there's a ton of this fishing to be had in the UK, just don't expect it to be advertised like day ticket waters! They may be hard to find, but fishing has become too easy these days, it never used to be !

Glad I had seen this because in the last 2 days Just gone I tried worms and started to catch small carp and then I got line snapped by a big carp because I forgotten to loosen the slip on the reel....Then I set the slip on reel and hooked a 2nd big carp but after a short while the carp managed to get off the hook because of barbless hook rules of the pool I was fishing....I have never done carp fishing before in my life. This is my fist time...

I do all of my carp fishing with nightcrawlers.

All my fishing is esp .can't always afford it but I save for what I need .esp has always done the best end tackle second to none .unfortunately my health leaves me low on money .other tackle just ain't the same .worms are free and great .

That is indeed proper fishing. I always waggler fish the margins with worm/meat etc and always catch more than the bite alarm brigade. This way you actually set the hook rather than the fish hooking itself plus you get the initial burst when hooked unlike when using bite alarms as by time angler gets to the rod the fish has already made its initial bolt after feeling the hook. Well done young man.

You sound a bit clueless Peter. "The Bite Alarm Brigade' That will include Terry Hearn, Ritchie Macdonald, Rod Hutchinson, Chris Ball, Lee Jackson and pretty much 99% of carp anglers. Opportunities to freelance for carp in the edge and with enough water clarity to see what's going on are very rare

40+ tons of 30s use mag aliners or medusa rigs you need atleast 2 gallons with corn and hemp or corn and crushed bollies with maggot you dont need to baIT AND WAIT SO MUCH GOOD FOR CASTING TO SHOWING FISH

Alfie was alone when he hooked the big old girl so unfortunately there is no footage of it being hooked etc!

Natural baits always better , One funny thing though is one minute the fish is a him and then it’s a her 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

A fattie but nice oval form to it.....I only free line....but in my local lake there are maybe three fish.....they never show..even on sunny sunbathing days.......the water is turkey...tons of Pirhana a roach.....super aware of people.....when they take bread off top which is rare they sometimes swipe at it almost like a tuna trapping some thrown in mackerel bait. Very curious..could be a weakness in espically the big mirror....but right place right time and all that.....they seem to vacate an area that is pre baited....as something to be wary of....they are a challenge....if you want to have a go....they are beating me I confess thus far....

Is this the no-fishing SSSI in Kent, that was fished in the close season, complete with film crew?
