    Recently my Mi 11 Ultra slipped and fell down through the gap between the tunnel and door of the an aircraft while boarding. Falling down almost 2 floors worth of height. The flight attendants told me to take my seat while they ask airport security to get my phone from under the aircraft. The time I waited, I was expecting a shattered mess. After 20 mins, the air hostess comes to me, smiling from a mile away. Low and behold, not a single scratch. (It had a bumper case on). So this comment is made from a Mi 11 Ultra that survived a 2 floor fall without a scratch.

    @@kennyb123 Yeah me too. My old iPhone 12 met such fate. That baby is fragile. I guess I was lucky that my phone case for Mi11 ultra has raised corner protection, and I can see that it hit the ground bottom left corner first. But if it fell in any other orientation, it would have not survived. But still this phone is a tank.

    Another Mi 11 Ultra user here, the hardware on this phone is basically perfect. Software is really good too, super duper feature packed like Samsung. Actually more features. I bought the S21 Ultra alongside this one and did a direct apples to apples comparison. The S21 by itself takes really good pictures, but you only see how much better the Xiaomi is when you literally have both in your hands. The cameras are truly superb. Indistinguishable from a DSLR is many common scenarios. For real. I have some sample footage on my channel.

    I actually bought this exact phone back in March 2021 and I've been using it daily ever since. Yes, it's huge and heavy and the camera bump looks awkward. But in reality it works really well! The bump is a natural support for my fingers the way I'm holding the phone, it's surprisingly well balanced (despite looking so top heavy) and those specs are no joke! Very long battery life, super fast charging and the best camera I've ever owned in a phone. I love it

    Having the camera bump go all the way across is a great idea. I hate it when a phone wobbles when you use it on a flat surface. The ceramic on the back is a super nice material. The thing you have to be careful about with Chinese phones is that they don't always provide all of the cellular bands used by US providers - this would be good additional information to provide in these videos.

    Had to retire my 3y/o Galaxy Note 9 last July due to screen burn in & degraded battery. Sought & bought the Mi11 Ultra &, so far, switch to Xiaomi has been a great experience. Superior photo & vid quality. Superb screen (1700 nits is class leading). Full charge gets me thru 1&1/2 days (I'm no gamer) and it's great 'cause I've had the display fixed at 120Hz. Smooth like butter. 5G also works without hiccups where I am. Quick Share is more than reliable so USB 2.0 is not at all a caveat imo. Flagship phone for certain. Device readily came with 67W charger & a dongle which, I understand, must both be purchased separately by those who opt for the fruit brand that's also China-made anyhow. Looking forward to watching the teardown next.

    Mi 11 Series except Lite, has a serious issue with the design of motherboard. That sometimes causes power delivery fault to wireless network module, the result is Wi-Fi stop working but Bluetooth is normal. Even sometimes the normal bootloader doesn't initialize, and boots into EDL mode without the display on. Some repair personals first tried to replace this module but nothing turns up, because Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work on the same module, this can rarely be an issue on the module itself. Things changed on June 2021 when a repair personal re-soldered the SoC and RAM, everything is back to normal. After checking the kernel log, there do have an issue on power delivery to wireless module. This often happen after SoC been working with high temperature for a long time, come up with system freezing and a hard reboot. Xiaomi has not announced official findings so far, but has extended the warranty for the affected models in Chinese mainland for half a year.

    While not a perfect phone, I imported mine from China when it was first released and other than 5G not being functional here in the US because of the incompatibly of the bands, it has been one of my best phones. While battery life isn't the best, it charges up super fast, either wired or wirelessly. Overall, this is a great phone and if you are importing from China, it can be purchased in the $800-$900 range.

    When we have camera bumps this big, you have to wonder why they don't just make the rest of the phone a little thicker so the tumour's less ridiculous. May as well use the space for a bigger, longer-lasting battery.

  • @nemotamang58

    @nemotamang58

    Firstly, They don't want to add more weight to the phone & making it relatively uncomfortable for extended handheld use. And mainly, the reason for having such large camera bump is that it highlights how much effort has been put into it. They are listing the camera on the top of the feature list; so naturally, they would want a striking design like it.
