60 years old in April and I just started flying a kite again! I was totally inactive, just sitting in my chair all day long, playing on my phone. Now I'm outside, getting some sunshine, fresh air but most importantly, I'm moving! I'm actually enjoying exercising for the 1st time in over 10 years! Now I instruct people, "GO FLY A KITE!"

Was in SPI for Kitefest 2020 and met with a great guy Phil at the flats, I was flying my homemade box kite and having a blast. Phil was flying his giant kite. We also had one of the 2 line delta wing, but it was a kids kite and hard to control in the great SPI winds. Phil gave us some tips on flying the 2 line, what fun! Inspired for next year for a more advanced 2 line foil and remaking another box kite, this time with a better string. Thanks for the tips on flying, great video.

Put your hands all the way through the loop handles so the loop goes around the back of the wrist, and hold the strap with the thumb and index finger. Way less hand fatigue when using strap handles.

Best kite of all time flexi blade 4.9 mk IV. Love it soo much but you gotta be careful! But for a less intense experience love my rage 1.8. I can flick that thing all over the sky. On a strong wind day, enough pull to get a workout too. I live in the UK so, often flying on a wet muddy field, but summer kiting looks a little more like your video, you lucky people! No wind = an RC Plane day!

I have 5 kites so far. I got a kite that is multi color that is in the shape of a bird (I've had this kite for years and years). I got a really cool kite called a flip kite, I got an "octopus" kite that looks more like a jellyfish that we named, Steve, a dragon kite (both jellyfish and dragon kite are from House of Marbles), and I have a 62" parachute kite from In The Breeze Kites. By stumbling upon your channel, I just found out about the really cool quad kite. I saw the kite on your MASSIVE kite video..the guy that was flying it was maneuvering it around the giant kite and I was just amazed. Tried different words in my browser and eventually found it. Though they are expensive, I think it will be my next kite. That kite is just SO cool. I also plan to buy the zero G kite eventually, that think is great when you want to fly without any winds. I've flown the triangular stunt kites and I gotta say, not my favorite. If you crash that thing, it's pretty much over and it's not cheap either. With a parachute kite, it's safe to crash because it's just air giving it it's form. The parachute kite is so powerful and fun to fly...it makes me want to try those parachute kites with the handle. But yea, kites are just so much fun and it's great to see your videos and all the kites you fly, just having fun. Take care.

Good to see the Flexifoil flying, shame the wind wasn't blowing much, Flexifoils come alive when the wind is blowing hard. I've got a Kite buggy just like the one in the video, picked it up cheap via a certain auction site, it had seazed wheel bearing but i was soon able to get replacements and fit them, i've three different sizes of traction kite to go with it, again bought via 'that' auction site, i really must get myself organised and start enjoying wizzing around pulled by kites.

I found bearings for the buggy at a bearing shop in Orlando for 2.50 a piece. Bought extras and found they are pretty easy to replace. A lot of fun, even with a tiny kite and no wind!

Awesome!!! My first kite was a flexifoil stacker 10, then after a few years had the just released at the time Blade 4.9, so bought that. Saw someone on tv pulling themselves along on a surfboard, fancied that myself, so attached some straps of a windsurf board to my big boy thruster and off I went....well...not quite. Off I went until I ditched it into the water. Then dragged it onto my board n paddled in. Second time it happened it got some sand in it, sunk a bit and caught a current. Scared the crap out of me. Just about got it out onto my board. A few years on I came across a company called airush and they did a kite called the lift. The leading edge and ribs inflated, was kinda a single skin so relaunched of water, then along came a knights of Bali twin nose and the rest was history till I moved from Wales to London to work. That was almost 20 years ago. I just turned 40 and am just looking into paragliding and stumbled across some kite vids, then this vid and man, was awesome. Really enjoyed it. Think it's time to get some kites back into my life and the lives of my 7 year old Isabella and just about 3 year old Daisy Evangeline. That said, man prices have ROCKETED up since last time I was flying late 90's early 2000's, but, a dad has to do what a dad has to do, especially for my girls. Thanks for the inspiration and time travel. Loved it!!! All the best and kindest regards Dean Wales, UK Oh, p.s. Of course I subscribed!! 👌🏼🤘🏼😁🤘🏼👌🏼

40 years ago, I had a stack of 3 - 6 footers. They flew great in the lightest winds and looked beautiful. Today's foils are not really set up to stack. So you have to go to a different size to adjust for wind strength. Do you know of any foil kites that can stack? Or how to get them to stack? Thanks.

Not about the kite, but about your opening sequence. Often, in historic (or just chic older) districts, using some percent of the original fascia allows you to still call the building an original structure, which is useful either to boost cache (and thus resale value) or to increase likelihood for permitting. It's a tiny bit shady, IMHO, but that's the way it is.

The flexi foils available today are more for power and not for land kiting like we were doing. To my knowledge, the design I was flying in this video is not available new any longer. Only on second hand market. However, I would suggest a Prism Tantrum as a good kite in the same family.

They left half the building up because of permitting. It was cheaper/easier to "remodel" than to build a new building. As long as they left original walls, it wasn't new construction. Great video, otherwise.

I figure that also might be done when someone wants to preserve the historical nature of a particular building or something like that. They've got brick buildings in places like Chicago that go back a hundred years or more. I could see someone wanting to preserve something like that but that's just me guessing. I don't really know.
