Awesome job! I miss our old dirt track. We ran anything we got out of people's yards and modified them best we could. We had 6 cars out there and we tore them up! Everything from Novas to cutlasses! try holding a camera and doing in car while steering! Ah the good ole days! Now my 56 I got now chevy is a gasser!

The 56 chevy came with only 1 V8 engine it was a 265. The bellhousing for the try five chevy was interchangeable with every other V8 afterwords making the try five a great platform for upgrades, The cast iron flywheel was dangerous when the engine was hoped up as the flywheel was known to explode at hi RPMs most of the time the heat cracks can be ground out when used on a passenger car but not recommended for a performance car. The 10 inch 153 tooth flywheel will work fine with a new starter. You can plan on problems with the nice wheels. they are made for 1/2 inch lug studs with a large lug nut, You have 7/16 studs and small nuts, They will loosen up!! If you want the car to turn left better, remove the coil over on the left rear and add it to the right front. Have yourself a ball with that. OH yeah I noticed you have a 6 qt oil pan. When you get her dialed in you will be driving it with your foot not the steering wheel.

another great video. i love watching how to make junk run. If you put the electric pump in the rear, close to the gas tank, it can push fuel, instead of pulling it Pulling, (sucking) is limited by atmospheric pressure, while pushing it is only limited by the power of the pump and the regulator. mount the pump lower than the pickup in the tank. Once it primes, it will siphon from then on, insuring fuel all the time even during a cold start.

I was saying that to the screen as they struggled to get the fuel to the carb uphill... I'm not a mechanic, I rarely turn a wrench but I love all things mechanical. These revival videos have become a mainstay of my YT viewing pleasure. And the electric pump being better at pushing than pulling is something I've heard on several of the channels I watch. But it's nice to have validation.

FYI (I learned this the hard way myself), those little electric mini-fuel pumps are pusher pumps and need to be mounted as low as possible and as close to the fuel source as possible. Trying to use them as a lift pump doesn’t work half the time.

As I watched you handle that flywheel and clutch assembly I couldn't help but cringe expecting you to get some hemoglobin on it. I've seen a mechanic on some channel back when cut his hand on one and he immediately said he knew better but wasn't using due caution. Fortunately you didn't suffer what would likely be as annoying as and equivalant to a paper cut. As a new subber enjoying traveling back in time to yesteryear with your productions, I have to say, "You get props from this viewer." 01/23/2129: Dirt tracks today just can't be found any longer, so enjoy this time you have now, it can slip away forever if you let it.
