Finesse? Dam thats got as much finesse as a hammer and a pane of glass...

When trolling we found very large lures had a lower hit rate than plugs in the 15 - 20 cm range.

Often thought about buying some carp care products with me but never seen another predator angler with them but might well just add some to my tackel bag now 👌🏻

Might be effective for early and late season Muskies as well....

Merry Christmas, Chris. I'm in Australia, where there is no equivalnet to the European Pike, so I watch your videos with a tinge of envy. Have you seen the videos by the pair of Swedish anglers, posting as "Boatside"? They've been on KZread for about 4 months; they target large pike in Swedish lakes and rivers. They have been trying out some monster lures. Their latest was using a 62cm (25") 2.6lb lure for big pike... Worth a look. What I've noticed is that toothy fish like pike seem to attack large baits from the side, with a bite in the middle. I suspect this is to disable the large prey. The pike would then release the crippled fish and repostion for a head first swallow. This shows in some of your pike videos and was certainly a problem for the "Boatside" boys that kept missing hookups and then finding big tooth marks in the middle of the gigantic baits. The traditional hooking rig with head and tail hooks with only one treble hanging midlength is possibly not the best rig? Cheers for the New Year.

Hey Chris what spray did you use on the pike ?

I never used barbed hooks for carp or trout fly fishing and lost very few fish. Having to use pliers to unhook them looks rather brutal to me. Otherwise I enjoy your content.

Pliers are used due to the pikes bony mouths and their teeth,you don’t want to put your hand in a pikes mouth. The bony mouth makes even barbless hooks hold tight👍
