Hi Daniel. Yes I found Damien Toomey to be very friendly and welcoming. He reached out to me over Facebook and invited me over to his shop. Nothing was too hard for him, and he bent over backwards to accomodate me. Cheers 🍻
Love to see great Australian engineering.

Hi Robert. Yes you're absolutely correct. They do some amazing work at their facility. I wish I had more time to spend there. Plenty of stuff that wasn't documented. Cheers 🍻
Great video, thanks for showing us some of your shop tools. I'm part of the unruly mob sent over by Kurtis at CEE. Richmond, Virginia, USA.

G’day Charles. Glad you enjoyed the shop tour. It was nice of Damien to invite me over to film their operation. After filming we both drive over to visit Kurtis and have a chat. I also have another channel called Aaron Engineering (manual machining). Feel free to pop over to that one too. Nice chatting with you Charles. Cheers 🍻 Aaron.
First time viewer. Kurtis over at CEE gave your ref. I worked at CAT in Decatur, IL. I've seen a number of pulled scrapers. Yours are definitely a step up. The angle cutting etc is fantastic. There is a company not too far from me "Johnson Scrapers" that make a very simple product compared to yours. The Decatur Plant still makes tractor/scrapers, dump trucks, and a limited number of rubber tired loaders. They made 13 models of motor graders for many years but those were moved to Little Rock, Arkansas about 20 yr ago. Nice informative videos; I've watched two and will do more.

Hello Daniel. Thank you so much for coming over to my channel. I know Karen and Kurtis personally over @CuttingEdgeEngineering and they are very good people (true fair dinkum Aussies). Damien Toomey invited me up to film this video on New Years day 2022. Afterwards we popped in and had a chat with Kurtis. Toomey makes some awesome products over at there factory. Hopefully he will read this comment and will respond to you. I know he is very active on Facebook also facebook.com/toomeymanufacturing Thanks again for watching my channel. I also have a manual machining channel on YT. I'll add the links below if you're interested. Cheers, Aaron. Hello and thanks for watching. I agree with you. Damien was such an approachable bloke, and really accommodated me being there. Nothing was too much trouble. Cheers, Aaron.
Holy cow did he say 630 tons!!! That's a massive machine. Great shop tour. Love the fact that Toomey is doing everything in house. Peter will appreciate all the Mazaks. Mazatrol controls still rule in the job shop or limited production work. Congrats on all your success Mr. Toomey. Thanks for sharing Aaron.

Hi Stephen. Yes that is correct, the big press is 630 tonnes and the small one was 250 tonnes. I'm not sure if that was metric tonnes or imperial tons though? Damien is a very clever young man. He is a professional Mechanical Engineer by training, but unlike the others I've met he can actually use tools, and machines and does all his own CAD CAM and even Post Processor modifications. Thanks for watching buddy. Cheers, Aaron.

G’day Kurt. Yes Kurtis does some work for Toomey from time to time. After I shot this shop tour Damien and I popped in to see Kurtis to say hi. The footage of the hydraulic cylinder end cap I used was actually shot on Kurtis’ workbench. Thanks for watching mate. Cheers from Downunder. Aaron 👍🍻

G'day Chris. Thanks for that information. I'd love to see one of these in operation out in the field. Unfortunately when I visited Toomey it was New Years Day and they couldn't show me, so I got some of their stock footage to show on my channel. Cheers, Aaron.

Hi Jake. I believe that all their plate cutting is done by another company. I am unsure who they use though. Sorry I don't have anymore information. Cheers 🍻
