Kev these vids are the best man . Love these cheap truck vs expensive truck challenges. Its actually super informative and interesting. I think people get stuck on pricey trucks thinking that they ate better but i think this test shows that this is really not the case. Keep these vids coming . Dont be affraid of a small bit of the techno babble some of us do teally like it .

Dude, im in tears. That Center pumpkin "nice" killed me.

Definitely getting one in that blue. Black or grey metal beadlocks 👍👍 then battery up front somewhere maybe like the sendero across the chassis rails. Hopeless at the back! RGT/FTX have also released metal portals for this or the Pro Kit crawler as a future upgrade. Excited!!

I appreciate the review, because you're just entertaining in general, but I find that the price of this truck ($250) when I checked is just too close to pricing of already proven trucks. It's cool, just not at a price that I think it's worth saving $50-$100 vs trucks like the Redcat Gen 8/Sendero/TRX 4 Sport/Vaterra Acender and so on.

Love your videos man, would love to see a video talking about lipos and their run time!! It woukd be very helpful, at least for me!

Looks decent. Redcat Gen8 is the same price where I live (with shipping). Better body, fenders etc. and portal axles on the Redcat, but that bad boy comes with the battery and has what looks to be a Dumbo radio which is an improvement but the esc looks like a step down... Portal axles are a pretty big upgrade, lads, vs a Nimh battery with this unit...

Angel Webster It may be on Sport Mode. There are some videos in KZread of how to change the ESC mode (if it’s stock Traxxas VXL) or the ESC and radio need to be recalibrated.

@@Off3er it arrived 4 weeks after order, it is exactly as Kevin has described, however, I did not get a charger with mine, got a battery, radio and car of course. I ordered a couple of Lipos and a charger anyway at the same time, they took 5 weeks to come, but I did get them. It is very good, however I now run it on 3s instead of the recommended 2s and it is really fast, great fun.

No it's not lol all an rc car has a motor body tires and a remote control it's so expensive for a car I could feed so many starving children in need and families in need wiht 300 hundred dollars

I saw a couple jumpers on the esc @ 11:31. Maybe one of them is for Lipo-Nimh setting and another one for forward-brake-reverse setting. Maybe.

Some 60 weight oil will help in the shocks. Weighted front wheels, and it should keep up with the sendero

Those tires are unbranded Duratrax Aproach C3 compound. Very decent crawler tires.

My first rc car was the brushed rustler pretty fast

Get the battery tray over the centre transmission. 2 screws easy swap. This is obviously the same as a FTX Outback Hi-Rock and it's mentioned in the manual that the battery can go over the transmission brace. Miles better performance there over high on the rear......

I feel like this is on par with an American Redcat Gen 7. I’m here to see you do a review recap that I can find. about the same price point to. I’ve bashed this thing for quite a while and have only changed three parts and one was elective.

How on earth do the body post break in the box. Great quality control there 😂

Interesting video, thanks for posting. Not the cheapest rock crawler surely? LOL! Depending on scale and comparing like to like 1/10 or 1/12 scale there's the FTX Outbacks V2/MK2. FTX and RGT seem to be linked companies (different territory brands?). Looking very similar to your RGT Hiluxalike, the FTX 'Hi Rock' (sic) is a great car, 313mm wheel base (suitable for a few body types) - proves FTX listen to customer feedback. But for a bit more cash, a TRX 4 Sport can be had? At 312mm wheel base that might exclude some body types though?
