Thanks for helping me relive my childhood, i'm 40 and used to go there all the time when i was kid. good to see the Howler and Blue Bullet, Sky Screamer are still there and operational. Sky Screamer was my favourite slide as kid, there used to be no covering or dropping hole on it, they would just tell you to cross your arms and legs.

My parents took me here in 1986ish…I think the year it first opened..(I’m that old) seems like many of the slides have changed a little since then…(there were no stand up tube entry things back then) but the magic seems to be the same…I’ll never forget this place from when I was little..

I love the comforting, small, and warm space on the sky screamer before the drop. Like the calm before a storm.

I love the countdown in the beginning! Great video, I hope we will visit this park one day, as well!

I love this waterpark so much. I went here on a family trip when I was in highschool the first time 10 years ago I didn't go on the countdown ones, but most of them I did. Came back 5 years later with my grandparents. Went on all of them, even though it was just me there I still had so much fun. I think I went on the cyclone 5 times. Such good memories. I'd love to come back to slide on them again. I love these waterslides so much.

When you went 10 years ago the countdown slides did not exist the sky screamer was originally red and wasn’t a countdown and was also like a fall slide like current sky screamers

@@newageretro yes I said it wrong it isn’t 10 years ago it’s 12/13 years ago, and yes a lot has changed there, raging rapids, thunderbolt and corkscrew are gone which all are defunct within the last 10 years

I grew up going to west Ed for my brothers hockey tournaments, and I only live like 4 hours away from this awsome park! The noise of the wave horn makes me thrilled! I just came back from a trip to Edmonton! And I went in the wave pool and I was trampled lol

My favourite slide!! 1:37 Sometimes it plays music and it’s a blast!! The lights are for a game on the board your have to try and match the Colour of the lights to your boarded it’s super fun and you get on a leaderboard, it’s also very colourful in there, but the last time I went there the game was broken sadly but you can still go on the slide. if you go there I recommend seeing if it’s not broken because if it isn’t then you will have so much fun! :)

I asked them this summer, they said the boards need regular maintnence from the company they buy them from in California, and they were not yet allowing techs to travel.

It has been fixed now but standard tubes are used instead, but there are still lights. I just bop the tube handles like you would press the buttons on the old slideboard.

Used to lifeguard here, such good times. During our staff swims we would all go down tropical typhoon at the same time in kids tubes and have a battle royal in the centre :D

as somebody who isn’t claustrophobic I’m afraid of the tropical tyfoon because small circle water pools are scary to me now that I’ve seen the tropical tyfoon. I mean imagine the bottom opening up and like you start getting sucked in or something pulls you down. my new fear has been unlocked.

I got media approval from the mall. Unless you have a specific reason to be filming, I think you might struggle to get a pass! I'm just lucky because I have a good reason to visit!

I Don't Live In Edmonton But Still In The Same Country I Live In. Looks Like Fun!

I grew up in Edmonton when I was a kid my parents tried to take to me to west ed water part or galaxy land once a week, at the very least we’d do to one of them and now my little ones about to turn five and for there birth day I think where taking them to either west ed galaxy land and water park or Canada land, I’m living in the Arctic circle rn and moved from Edmonton when I was about 12-13😢

@@marichiari4360 My older cousin persuaded me to go on the slide and I agreed. It was my first time on it and things were going well until about halfway through the enclosed tube section. Our tube raft got stuck because the tube itself was slightly too small, so we were sitting ducks for a few seconds before we heard screaming behind us. Few seconds latter and the next group of people slams into us, sending my cousin somersaulting outside of the raft and me barely staying within it (white knuckles holding on, lol). Just this massive amalgamation of tube and people careening out of the exit. All things considered, it was extraordinarily entertaining (no injuries either luckily).

@@marichiari4360 It got shutdown because of how big it was and the prices to keep it active we’re getting very expensive. But it did open up again back in 2017ish for one last time and there needed to have staff to push all of the tubes around because the water was so shallow. It was a fun little tube slide though!

They supply single or double tubes. Or you can use a tube you rent at the entrance to the park- these tubes can also be used on the twisters, the howler, and the corkscrews

@@DylanADV I haven’t been to galaxy land for so long… I was debating if I should go but I heard that I had to wear a mask and that someone of the rides are closed, and I know that the water park is always fun

at the end of the howler i always get a warning for doing a backflip off the steps😂

how did they let you film here? I tried to bring my GoPro attached to waterproof stick attached to my wrist. I got down 1 slide before I was told it wasn't allowed because of liability but they never told me for what liability even after I showed them it wouldn't come off my wrist....

There’s also a zip-line that goes over the wave pool

If only I had watched this before going :( I'd never been on big waterslides before. Blue Bullet was the first one I went on. Tiny tube, fully enclosed, and most of it pitch black. I was terrified!

For sure! The end pools are roughly 4 ft deep. I would say you can stand in all of them, except for the pool under the toilet bowl slide (since that has to be deep enough to land in!). Hopefully you get there soon!
