My brother served in military in ww3. We used to play football and read stories together. He served as volunteer in this war and very day used to sent us letters, but we haven't got any since the battle of Hamburg God bless him. Since the conflict has ended, the world has become the greater place. I really want to see him again

Mongolia- yeah they're most likely to join since they're part of Soviet bloc but it won't be that significant anyway. Vietnam? Unlikely, sure they were allied with the Soviets but i dont think they can do much anyway, especially after grueling Vietnam war which was gruesome for both USA and Vietnamese. At best i can see the Soviets use their naval base in Vietnam but that would be bombed by American bombers based in Phillipines anyway.

In reality it would have escalated to a full scale nuclear exchange within days if not hours. The 7 days to the Rhine plan involved using nukes from the start. And the US would have responded in kind with both sides quickly escalating. And with 47,500 nuclear warheads flying around everyone would find out if the afterlife was real or not.

Maybe. Then again, the plan also assumed that nato strikes the Warsaw pact first, using tactical nuclear weaponry and advancing into east germany. The plan was meant to be a counter-attack.

@@korvmaster229 Let's think about that for a second. NATO strikes the Warsaw pact in a surprise attack. But doesn't hit any of the major bases, airfields and command centers where all the soviet armies would have been. Allowing them to launch a massive counterattack. I don't see how such a premise makes any sense. If NATO leadership was insane enough to launch the first strike they would have gone all inn. And in turn the Soviets would have responded with everything as well. The end result being the northern hemisphere being glassed into oblivion. There is no scenario where a conventional war wouldn't quickly devolve into a nuclear exchange.

@@robertalaverdov8147 i think they assumed that if they counter-nuked the invading NATO-divisions, that it would even the playing field, allowing for a counterattack, even if their own divisions were similarly damaged(idk if it would work, im just saying, that was the plan). Also, they assumed that NATO would not strike the soviets directly, and instead only strike the soviet troops residing in eastern germany, and their supply lines in poland.

I like how the author ignores geography, logistics, and experience of the parties. If there had been a war between NATO and the Warsaw Pact in Europe, then it would have been a clear victory for the Soviet side (if, of course, the conflict would have occurred without the use of nuclear weapons). Yeah, I got to disagree with this scenario. I remember 77 in the US military was a shambles then morale was nonexistent chaos in the ranks and I don’t even think France was in NATO at the time.
