The second Sino-Japanese war lasts from 1937 to 1945. Imperial Japan had illegally occupied Manchuria and Northern China since 1931, but they're not in the state of war at that time. Anyway, greetings from South Korea, as Nationalist China and its Nanjing government was one of the strongest ally for the Korean independence during our darkest days. :)

The Communist have a great system of one party democracy where there is actually local government grass roots elections. That's why the party has elections to vote in their heads of state through meritocracy. The US on the other hand has a growing poverty and homelessness problem. The US government has their approval rating in the 40% and an oligarchal system where only the extremely rich gets to make decisions on the rest of society.

Agree. Alot of people 'defected' to the Reds. This is because the DPP and the younger generation in Taiwan is seeking for 'de jure Taiwan Independence', something that NRA/ROC Forces fought against. Their defection should not be constituted as 'support for communism', but rather political realism, as the ROC has lost her original soul and become a front for de facto Taiwan Independence and her reliance on foreign powers made her look extremely bad.

Britain blocaded the life line of Rep. of China via Burma while China was fighting against Japan aggressor in 1937. Not until Japan invaded HongKong, Singapore, Britain was still dangling for her own benefit. Japan's invasion of Burma caused 7000 British troops being encircled, then Britain asked USA to force Chiang send Chinese elite troop(New 1st Army under command of General Sun, a talented leader graduated from Virginia Academy) to rescue them.

The Weimar generals were recalled by Hitler personally by 1930s, and even the one general that helped Kai-Shek was forced to leave or risk being court marshalled. America no longer helped the Nationalists because Kai-Shek embezzled the funds from American donations and also because advocates of socialism in America (such as Joe Stillwell) caused the cessation of aid.

Alas, the late Chiang lost the mainland due to various reasons. When the 2nd phase(after the Japanese surrender) broke out, he lost his crack units in Northeast China. To add salt to injury, since his army is fractured due to warlordism, he can't just appoint 'best person'. In the "Three year Starvation"(1959-1961) the death toll was 30 million admitted by Commie regime, the real death toll was 96 million reported received by Yang, Song-Keen(楊尚昆) via Public Security(the most blood thirsty and cruel department, GPU of PRC) system.

Well, he was a member of Soviet Communist Party just like the others. I don't like him, never liked and never voted for him. But at least he and his regime saved free economy that we made in 90s.
