You do realize they sold for 300 for a good minute that's what I paid for mine, spending 800 on treal is not any better either, if treal used decent aluminum like 6061 then it might be worth it to buy em but realistically the plastic is more durable then the cheap aluminum because the plastic bends back where the aluminum just bends....

@@JimmyB55 make sure no dirt is under the pins at all for motor mount, try stock or maybe slightly diffrent gearing maybe it sits better then current setup. Also try getting harder gears.

Kev... I've been eyeing the Xtr for a while... It could be the best of both worlds with the kraton and the xmaxx? Hope you review it. The new BEST rc car maybe?

great idea with the center diff on the savage, i've got an even older one in the loft, think its got hot bodys chassis plates if i remember right, had the lst2 shocks as well

Steve is a legend. My Baja Rey cogged badly on the 2S it came with, geared it down with included gear and removed timing, all good. Beautiful driving trucks.

How do you take out timing on the stock set up?

You mentioned a Ryft rear anti sway bar. Do you ever run your Ryft much, or does it break down too easily?

The front suspension is completely different from the rock Rey to Baja Rey. The LBR has dialed IFS.

More on the savage! I have one and want to get it going again.

The differentials are the weak link on those Baja Reys and the Losi Tenacity platforms. The rings gears are held on with tiny phillips head self tapping screws. Losi really cut corners on those platforms.

I'm always stunned at 8s Steve's real voice. He goes from tickle me Elmo to the sexiest man alive in an instant. 😅🤣

Hey Kevin, when will you do your unboxing of the New Traxxas XRT😀

I got given one of these after the original owner got sick of replacing the front diff because the bearings are more suited to a 1/10th! can’t remember the exact size,but they are a large id and therefore have tiny balls!! so I machined the diff down to 8mm to suit normal 1/8th bearings and it’s not broken yet! Still a pile of you know what! compared with a comp level irs car though, it’s better suited to lower kv high torque setup I ended up running a 1500kv marine engine and it’s got exceptional run time and unlimited torque

Crazy that the first world record fastest car build video was over 2 years ago

I've been eyeing the Losi Baja Rey for a good while as a cheaper alternative to the UDR or Super Baja Rey. That one took some good hits. A little tougher than I imagined.

I have tortured my baja rey and been amazed! Only ever had to replace rear axle housing due to the bearing going bad. & the new housings use a much bigger bearing so I doubt it happens again. If you want something fun, you won't have to fix EVERYTIME you take it out.. Losi Baja Rey.

Mojave EXB is another to consider, unless you really prefer the scale looks of the Baja Rey.

Baja rey has been a great machine for me, body was trashed before anything broke, tires almost bald too

Minor mods and they are great. The Hammer Rey comes with two problem that actually make each one worse. Tighten the steering by replacing the steering bell crank and put heavier differential fluid in the rear differential and you have an outstanding truck. Love my Hammer Rey, it accelerates straight as an arrow with no AVC.

Kev, how are we supposed to make money on EBAY when they take 12.9% of our profit away ?

you did a video about the old baja rey 1/10 a long time ago and you did have a blast with it. the problem with the new one is that they put a slower motor that requires a 4s, while the baja rey 1/10 will do 50mph on 3s.
