Trust me on accent alone in much of europe, south america, some parts of asia and africa, locals will openly show disdain for you (if not just speak amongst themselves). Having had the privilige of seeing much of the globe through my job (and spending 2 months a year in the US) i can comfortable say that the US is much more welcoming to foreigners than most other countries are to US citizens. I will say the most savage test drive I ever had was with a Porsche salesperson in a Cayenne Turbo. It worked, I bought it!
So, without telling me the rest of the story, the fact that dude wanted to take home the Taycan Turbo on the lot rather than a CrossTurismo tells me he has more money than taste. Or time. My question is: How do you get that much money if you're that bad with time? Imagine how productive he coulda been if he used his time on the side of the road to read the owner's manual... @bwofficial1776
10 ай бұрын
EVs have a limited use case. They're really only practical if you can charge up at home every night and take longer trips rarely to never. They work best as commuter cars, not do-it-all cars. Hybrids and PHEVs are where we should be going until we can solve several major problems with charging and power supply.
@MBergyman
10 ай бұрын
As someone who drives possibly the slowest DC fast charging car (Bolt), I will definitely say that EVs do not make sense unless you have a place at home to charge, or you own a Tesla. Fast charging on the road is not a big deal in MOST places in the US as long as you are smart and don’t assume the charging infrastructure is as ubiquitous as the 100 year old fuel station infrastructure. It will take some time to get there, but I would still recommend an EV if you are driving a lot of miles. The fuel savings will pay for the EV premium price tag easily.
@Neojhun
10 ай бұрын
Bunch of Nonsense. They work perfectly fine if you only have to do the CANON BALL RUN a few times a year. And most other times never more than a Single DC Fast charge around 400 miles in one day. BEVs are easy to live with. Their range is just soo big now.
@MBergyman

@@Neojhun It may be nonsense where you live. There are legitimate reasons associated with DCFC infrastructure in MANY places that prevent BEVs from being a universal best choice for everyone.

The penalty comes in babysitting a car that you paid good money for and never getting to enjoy and still taking some depreciation while the guy driving it gets his money's worth from the experience and joy. If you're buying a car just to hold for the resale value then you're in the wrong business.

@@FlyingTigersKMT I completely agree that there is a “penalty” to not droning the car. You’re missing out on the enjoyment and true purpose of the vehicle.
