Eddie: "What I'm worried about is equipment failure" This is a very common and valid concern when beginning to learn the climbing basics. Even after 30+ years of climbing, I was still concerned about equipment failure, especially when on the sharp end on a trad route. Advice to Magnus: Before taking any beginner off the ground on a rope, give them an in-service on the equipment, it's design, strength, purpose, and function. Teach them the proper commands, ie; "belay on?", "climbing", "tension", "slack" "off belay", etc. Have them tie in, climb up a meter or so off the ground, and have them sit back in their harness to demonstrate it's strength/ability to hold/protect them while they are still close to the ground and not 10 meters up. Because Eddie weighs twice as much as you do and is INCREDIBLY top heavy, the potential of him flipping upside down is possible/inevitable. Although a chest harness is cumbersome/ inconvenient, you might consider one for Eddie's MONSTER frame. I'm sure Eddie would appreciate the security it provides.

Not to mention that his musculature gives him limited range of motion compared to someone of Magnus's build. Not only is he carrying such a large amount of weight, but also is overall less manoeuvrable than somone who would commonly be climbing. Both of Magnus's videos with Eddie have left me very impressed. And I agree, I've never been interested in powerlifting or similar sports, but Eddie is always enjoyable to watch and always seems to have great chemistry with the people who he does videos with, he just seems like a really genuine person.

You two have great camera presence, please more of you guys climbing. It was great to see Eddie overcome the gear fear and see the differences of indoor vs. outdoor. You could tell he had a moment of question but powered through it. If you have climbed outside you know this all to well and I could feel it. .

Magnus, your videos have been an inspiration to me as I've worked to drop weight. One of my goals in losing weight is to get into bouldering. I've lost 107 pounds now, I'm down to 223 and I'm about ready to go hit the local climbing gym. These videos with Eddie are hugely inspirational! If he can do it at 370 I feel like I can definitely get started at 223. I've been focusing on arms and grip strength in my workouts lately.

All the beeps reminded me my first outdoor climbing, with no previous experience. They were easy low grades safe routes, but I totally understand the feeling of being stuck on a wall with a few expert friends saying "just don't stop moving, believe in the feets, it's gonna be alright" One of the most emotional and scary day I ever passed "having fun" and the reason I'm still climbing today

I’ve been watching for years, and this has got to be one of my favorite videos that Magnus has ever made. I’m digging the style of the new editor, the background music was sweet, and Eddie is always a funny and entertaining guest. In a future video, it would be cool to see Juji, Larry Wheels, Brian Shaw, and Eddie compete in some sort of climbing challenge with Magnus. (Or even just Brian and Eddie at the very least. Their competitive banter is always hilarious.)
