Love the idea for smaller fish man! Next time you do it though take the weight off and let it flow the fish will be more interested instead of it going straight down.

The small spotty fish you had no idea of is similar to a tompot blenny we catch here in the uk. About the same size too. Rockpool (tide pool in us) fish. Totally harmless.

That 2nd fish was a micro puffer they get really big as a defense mechanism kind like a regular puffer but without spikes

The best thing you can do is find people that fish and just ask💪🏽. Or just keep trying something till it works I’m sure if your fishing salt water you can never go wrong with some shrimp dead or alive on a Carolina rig. Oooooooorrr just search on KZread fishing in Puerto Rico and I’m sure you’ll find some people and then you can ask them question or just copy what there Doing if there fishing the same type of body of Water your fishing. The two fish you caught around 9-11 minutes (the one you thought looked dangerous and the one you confused for a wrasse) are actually the same species, Hairy Blenny (Labrisomus nuchipinnis)! The female look dark brown with white spots and the males are various tonnes of red, yellow and green!

I've got a noice 11 inch trout in a river but put new line in it I didn't like the factory line. It was smaller than my fly fishing leader not for me.
