The Batwa People of Uganda | World’s Shortest Humans

Hello Awesome people,
"Originally, Batwa were forest-dwelling hunter-gatherers based in the Great Lakes region of Central Africa, and are widely accepted as the original inhabitants of the region. As their traditional forest lands and territories fell under the control of agro-industries and conservation agencies, the Batwa became squatters living on the edges of society. The establishment of the Bwindi and Mgahinga National Parks for Mountain Gorillas in 1991 enabled the authorities to evict the Batwa definitely from the forest. The Batwa in Uganda (today) experience systematic and pervasive discrimination from the government and other sectors of society, and their rights as indigenous peoples are neither recognized nor respected".

I guess the Pygmies are much smarter than people who live on the land and certainly much smarter than those who live in the cities. To live like that, you have to have very good knowledge of the environment. The forest is their university, their shop, their healing place, their garden, their home. Much respect for the Holy Tree. 🙏🌳🌴

Ms. Eunice, one of the indigenous tribes in the Philippines are exactly like them, 4ft. tall. Hey Eunice Tess! 🌍✨ Your video showcasing the incredible Batwa tribe in Uganda, and I am utterly moved by the depth and authenticity of your storytelling. Your dedication to shedding light on the struggles and rich cultural heritage of the Batwa is truly commendable. Despite having a relatively smaller subscriber count, your work speaks volumes and has the power to create a significant impact. The way you bring attention to the challenges faced by the Batwa and the discrimination they endure is both eye-opening and heartwrenching. You've poured your heart into this project, which shines through every frame. Your commitment to highlighting lesser-known stories and advocating for marginalized communities is what we need more of in the content creation space. I have no doubt that your channel, though currently with a few subscribers, is destined for greater heights. The authenticity and passion you bring to your work are the ingredients for success. Thank you for using your platform to amplify the voices of the Batwa and raise awareness about the issues they face. I've subscribed and can't wait to see more empowering stories unfold on ExperienceAfricans. Here's to celebrating the beauty, resilience, and shared stories of Africa! 🙌🔥 #ExperienceAfricans #EmpoweringStories #UnitingHearts #IgnitingChange #AfricanVoices #InspirationalContent

The more I learn about the world, the theme seems to be to exploit the poor by any means necessary. The time is now for us to take a STAND...not just stand up but to take a stand and move towards change. These are our brothers and sisters. WE LOVE YOU!!!

Greedy governments removing people from their environment is a crime. The same thing is happening to the Kalahari Bushmen. We need to protect indigenous rights around the world.

I guess that was the plan when they evicted them but the Batwa hate being modernised. All they want is going back to the forest which is probably never going to happen.

I have an Anthropology/Social Science degree and a big interest in folklore. All over the world, there are legends of "little dark people" who were supposedly very ancient and the original inhabitants of whatever cultural area we may be talking about, before the later/dominant inhabitants arrived. In Scotland, the Picts were supposed to be small dark people, and the legends of people like this often got mixed up with Faery lore. In the Philippines they were called the Dwendes ( Dwarves) and though they are thought of as Mythic they may be a folk memory of the 4' tribe that you were talking about. Maybe at one time in the past there were a lot more these small people all over the world. It's a fascinating subject.
