Thanks man! I'm sure there's a better way but I tend to do things the simpler way without overbuying on tools/machinery. There's definitely some things I'd do different if I was a production shop.

@Kordare

Thanks! It can be a bit loud but I don't mind it
BTW that "gas tank skid plate" IS structural, it's the only thing holding the tank in besides the fuel and EVAP hoses. I admit I didn't watch your entire video but I don't think you realize that. Also if you can find a decent aftermarket one or make one(your seem quite capable👍) you should make a video on it, I don't think the OE ones are available anywhere except junk yards. I've done a few fuel pump/filter R&Rs on these at work since they're prone to cracking and spraying fuel out on top of the tank. I'm about to buy one that needs head gaskets from a customer who doesn't want to repair it and I stumbled across your channel while researching exhaust mods 😁H-pipe sounds great, good work.
@Kordare

Ok so that looks awesome! Maybe a stupid question but why do you have that gas hose running into the pipes and the ends plugged? Honestly doing a video on the basics of tig welding would be pretty cool.
@Rorythelogokid
2 жыл бұрын
It’s for back purging, removed undesirable gasses and vapors from the backside of where you are welding. Makes it clean and contaminant free.
@Kordare
2 жыл бұрын
Travis is correct. That's to fill the inside with argon to protect the inside of the weld. Necessary on thin wall because you're burning all the way through the material.
I need my 2013 done the same way.
Was gonna say where is the balance pipe at ahaha but sounds waaaaaay better with the balance pipe installed

Where did you have to ground your welder and did you have to mask off the gas tank or any other areas when welding? I have a wire welder, I want to do some vehicle exhaust work, have an 08 RR sport, probably will take it somewhere
@Kordare
Жыл бұрын
I grounded to the exhaust and no I didn't mask off any areas because tig welding doesn't spatter like mig and also I was only tacking while on the car, not doing full welds. It's possible to mig an exhaust, I used to do it, but you have to go pretty slow to not burn through.
Damn. Thats pretty fast

You're another one of the people who talk about Rover "reliability issues" when in fact you have no clue what you're talking about. Try this. Go buy one and own it yourself instead of regurgitating the false garbage you hear from others like you who've never owned even one Rover. I've owned two previous to the one I currently own. I bought all three used with more than 60 thousand miles. I've never bought a warranty. None of them ever spent a day on a tow truck and never spent a single day in service beyond regular scheduled maintenance. Get some education. They are very reliable.

Great work. I'm still rocking flux core for my exhaust mods 🤣 ...and was thinking the whole time "needs an X-pipe!!" Lol was glad to see the addition of the "H"... not that it matters much, but I've seen videos doing dyno test that show X-pipe produces more power gains than just an H... but more so, I wonder how it would change the sound 🤔🤔🤔
@Kordare
2 жыл бұрын
Haha flux core you crazyyyy. I'd suggest at least getting a small argon bottle so you can run solid wire, if your machine allows it. Will give a much cleaner weld. And yeah I saw the same thing but for this it wasn't worth attempting to add an X.
