Absolutely amazing! Congratulations on your accomplishment! I owned a lot of Sizzlers cars and multiple tracks as a kid back in the early 70s. When Target re-released Sizzlers for a limited time back in 2006 I bought four Giant “O” sets and three Figure 8 jump sets. I grabbed every single car I could get my hands on too, shopping at several Target stores in my area! Thank you for the memories and I only wish I had a fraction of the amount of track you have!

I'm 58 and this brings back memories. I received one for x-mas when I was a kid. These are battery operated and when you race 4 on the track was amazing. They last about 5-6 minutes and then you just charge em back up !

brian: i didn't have a track so i ran my car around a tether made from mom's thread and a thumbtack stuck in the soft tile floor (at the joint so my dad wouldn't bitch about it). the little recharging hole in the body was a perfect spot to tie the thread. i used a sub-mini male plug to recharge my cars from a tyco transformer- i was 11 or 12 so it was one of my first device hacks!

First off, I stumbled onto this post by pure accident. Regardless of the criticisms below, you took me back to when I was a kid and dreamed of having my own Sizzlers car. I shoveled snow @ $0.25 per driveway to save up to buy my first one. At $5.75 each (TAX NOT INCLUDED), that was a lot of snow removal for a 6 year old! Great set-up! And gee... to only have one wreck on a track that long built on top of a lawn .... WOW! Thanks for the nostalgia, and never mind the jerks bitching about what scale speed the car was going.... that was awesome!

if that is 1969ft, I did the math and GOOD GRAVY Hot Wheels move at an incredible speed for their size. 1969ft very roughly converts to 42 1:64 scale kilometers. and since the car took 3:42 to complete the course (I didn't bother accounting for the crash, which means the car is even faster scale wise than my numbers, but I don't want to get super technical) that roughly translates to 670km/h! that's insane! (415MPH)

The car in the video was a slow Sizzlers car. Slow cars wreck less. We used a speed gun to see how fast a Sizzlers car can go in miles per hour in another video. Watch the following video, do some math and you'll see 670km/h is nothing. :) - kzread.info/dash/bejne/moerstKyirOYh7Q.html

Actually, the only plan we had was to build a track. We didn't even know if all the track would fit in our yard. It's good to know that Hot Wheels still makes Sizzlers. I got my set for Christmas 1970. They would have lasted only half your track on the batteries I had. One thing I wish I saved was my Johnny Lightning set I got in Christmas 1969.

Unfortunately, they don't make Sizzlers anymore and haven't for years. Best toy ever imo. The Sizzlers car went the whole way around the track because we put a brand new battery in the car and new batteries in the charger. While this track is 300ft+ longer that the record, it is not an official guinness record because I didn't do all the things you need to do to qualify. For example, you need witnesses to write papers about what they saw, you need to have a surveyor present for all distance records, they like media present, and a few other things.

I recently started working on a new Sizzlers video. Unfortunately, I don't know when it will be finished.

I had a set of these when I was a kid. How did you get the charge on the car to last so long? I recall these cars only stayed running for about 60-90 seconds on a single charge.

The orange Hot Wheels track is available at Walmart, probably other stores too. Unfortunately, Hot Wheels Sizzlers cars/tracks haven't been sold at stores in years. You can get some fast Sizzlers cars at sizzlers.racing , some working and non-working ones (and track) on ebay.com. I've also purchased Sizzlers track at yard sales and flea markets.

man that had to take a LONG time to build, very cool, glad you took the time to do this and share. would be fun to race 10 cars at a time on that and see who wins. only about an acre of track, lol

Actually 10 cars on that track wouldn't make a good video. The odds of 2 cars being close during the race would be slim and none. For example, watch this 10+ car race at the Hot Wheels Collectors convention - kzread.info/dash/bejne/i2d2vNBrh5Wph9Y.html (a 500ft track) and then remember that "longest" track is 4 times longer.

Wow. I thought the car had to be modified to run that long, but it's stock. That's amazing! More amazing is the sheer amount of wide track you put together. If you bought it, that would cost a pretty penny nowadays. Those cars and tracks came out in the Seventies, when I was a kid...unless Mattel kept making them and I never noticed. I'm so blown away by the car's performance and the length of the track, I'm not sure what to say. Mainly, I'm kicking myself for not holding onto my Sizzlers and the track from when I was young, and my brother's as well. We had heaping helpings of fun with them. My bro used to slick up the tracks and our house's marble bathroom counter with soap, Windex, and WD40, charge the cars, and let them go...they would fishtail and burn donuts like nobody's business, and it was, and still is, the greatest thing ever. You are awesome!

That wasn’t our first attempt, and it wasn’t the last. We tried for three hours to get a complete run without a wreck, it never happened.

How in the world did you keep it going for so long?!? That was amazing!
