Very glad to see you post again
I have a modular Rugged Obsidian45 pistol can, and it is really well made. Subsonic .45 and 9mm are amazingly quiet. I am contemplating a new rifle can, and hadn’t really thought of any of the Rugged products, but this is worth looking into.
That SBR'd bolt gun is awesome!

If it’s hearing safe on a .308 with 18 inch barrel, it better be hearing safe for .300 blackout subsonic! Lol

They have constant uploader problems. Adam’s video on this can is up there right now, but the last 4 minutes were cut off.
Love Rugged cans! Have you had any issues with the can being difficult to remove once it cools down? My Surge sometimes likes to be a pain to remove from the 3 prong mount even after it completely cools. (Always mounted cold to a cold gun)

This can happen with any silencer. Tap the end of it with a rubber mallet, and it should break free a lot easier.

How is the felt recoil with unsuppressed, short, and long?
@TWANGnBANG
5 жыл бұрын
I don’t really notice too much recoil reduction from a can. It takes a brake to get real recoil reduction.
I didn't have to wear earpro for any of those rifles and that's pretty impressive considering I was often in front of the muzzle. What, they didn't have a taller optic mount for that 11" 300 BLK? You're still able to get part of your chin to touch the stock. 😂
@TWANGnBANG

As a firearms expert, you should immediately recognize that the LOP was way too long for me on that rifle. Not my rifle, so I wasn't going to mess with the adjustments just to demo a can.
@atypical_moto
5 жыл бұрын
@@TWANGnBANG I figured it wasn't your rifle based on your reaction to it. But unless that's bigfoot's rifle, it needs a shorter mount. I'm guessing that's an AR style mount? I'm guessing that rifle is mostly unshootable in the prone position. It sounds like the cheek weld is adjustable but there's no reason to run the optic that high on a bolt gun. I'm not criticizing to be a dick. Help your buddy out with his rifle.
That really overgassed your rifle. What buffer and spring?

@TWANGnBANG

I prefer heavier barrels for running suppressed. My SBR is a BCM BFH and is fantastic.
I am doubtful the short config is hearing safe (at the ear) on a 16” 5.56. I’m not sure any can is on 16” 5.56 The flame out the muzzle is intense too. Maybe that’s why the actual numbers by SilencerShop were removed from the site with a promise to do redo the numbers the following week and has still not been redone.
@TWANGnBANG
5 жыл бұрын
The flame is a function of the ammo. As I listed in the video, it was some off-brand 55gr 5.56. Regardless, it shows that the gas is flowing out of the muzzle instead of being redirected out the ejection port and to the shooter's ear. The claim is not that it is hearing safe at the muzzle.
@jdsmith308
5 жыл бұрын
I wasn’t implying hearing safe at the muzzle. I said hearing safe, period. When I questioned Rugged about the claim from their own employees that it was hearing safe at the ear of the shooter, they replied and said a video proving it would be created, but did not do so. Silencer Shop also removed their own video of the db ratings, saying they were inaccurate. The sound of the BCG moving around in a 5.56 with supersonic 5.56 Ammo is sufficient enough to break 140 decibels. Check every single video on every suppressor on SilencerShop KZread channel and look at the at the ear db rating on supersonic 5.56. None are hearing safe.

I was noticing your 3 prong device. Is carbon starting to build up on the threads or does the front taper block the gas?
@TWANGnBANG
5 жыл бұрын
That’s all carbon. The taper can’t block it because the prongs are exposed to it on all sides even when the can is in place.

The soft focus is just the effect of an open aperture. It was late in the afternoon, so I had to blow the lens open to get enough brightness.
Haha. GMM SMKs into a berm at 25 yards. You're a criminal.
I'm really torn between the Radiant and the micro30. Having not been able to shoot either of them, on paper there's a 2.6oz difference which seems negligible. Also, 7.5 vs. 6 5 inches seems a bit long for it's full configuration. You haven't the opportunity to a shot in both, what is your take away?
