Let me explain - Warsaw is not coming from the city, which saw war... (War Saw). It is english translation of an original name Warszawa, whis was created from the names of mythical pair Wars and Sawa - Wars was an fisherman and Sawa was a siren woman. Sawa felt in love and she lost her fish tail and got the legs. That's why the Warsaw shield has the siren with a sword...

I’m so happy more people around the world recognise Poland and visit it. Most people I know don’t even know a country like Poland exists never mind being able to point it out on a map! I’m mainly polish and I was born and grew up there and seeing these kinds of videos warms my heart tbh perhaps you could visit Toruń, Sopot, Gdynia and łeba next time they’re amazing places too!

Man in 12:17 sits on the small chair - the seat is connected with the box he sits on with a thin rail. in Poland it's called "Warszawa" as well, and it has nothing to do with a war at all, there's this legend of a fisherman called Wars and mermaid- Sawa, who fell in love with each other and so the city was created. In reality, Warsaw is a pretty new city, changed from a meaningless village to be a capital of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, halfway between Kraków and Vilnius (capital of Lithuania) and fairly close to Sweden (strong player in the region at the time). But this remains true that it saw war, in 1942 it had 1.400 million inhabitants, in 1945- 162 thousand. It's due to the city getting completely razed to the ground, jewish ghetto (around 400 thousand people) liquidated, people killed in the Warsaw Uprising, relocated, sent to concentration camps or just moving out.
